Thanks for the kind words and comment! I appreciate it. While this is vastly different than Molson Canadian, it's quite tasty, haha!
      Cheers!

Thanks, buddy! I'm loving them, too. So much fun, especially trying out beers like this that I always wanted to check out.

I've never had this, so I snagged one and thought I'd enjoy it with you. Boulevard has yet to disappoint. I haven't tried any of their space camper line, I'll do some looking into them. Solid beer, solid review Cheers Joe!

Thanks, Rodney! I think their barrel-aged game is fantastic when it comes to the price point. Their regular/seasonal offerings can be hit or miss, but Tank 7 is the GOAT, and this beer was damn good. Glad to hear that they're coming through for you, buddy! Happy Holidays, sir!
      Cheers!

Havent seen this one at the store I go to a lot where I see Boulevard stuff. Not sure I'd get it if I saw it. I try to get as many winter seasonals as I can but winter warmer isnt a great style to me so Im not sure if I'd get this one. Guess it would depend on the price. Their beer finder on their website said its not available in my area.

I know some stores will stock their barrel-aged beers, but not their core lineup. Kind of weird, but if the BA beers sell, then I get it. Luckily, I can find most of their regular offerings at places like Wegmans. You would think this would be one of their beers that's available everywhere that Boulevard is carried. Since you're not a big Winter Warmer fan, you're not missing out, but this is an old school English Winter Warmer, so picture an Old Ale or Strong Ale without spices. I appreciate it for what it is.
      Cheers, duder!

I haven’t had this beer in about 6 years. I remember it being pretty solid. Big malty, old school winter ale. Boulevard is hit or miss around here so I may not be able to find it. Enjoyed lots of holiday beers this weekend when I was back home for early Christmas. Funny that you mentioned craft breweries closing. Found out that my local brewery is closing next week due to not being able to find a buyer. The current owners just don’t have the time anymore to keep up with demand….sad news. Cheers and don’t think there was a curse word 🍻!

Sorry to hear about your local brewery, Dan! Which brewery is that? Yeah, this is a damn fine old school Winter Warmer. Just lets the core four ingredients shine. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy American Winter Warmers with spices and whatnot, but sometimes beers like this just hit. I feel you on Boulevard's distribution being hit or miss. I was hoping their barrel-aged mixed six pack would show up, and I haven't seen it at all. Very disappointing. Only one swear words so far ... not bad, haha!
      Cheers, Dan!

Brewery is called Chaotic Good. Very very local brewery for SE Minnesota. Brewery was D&D themed and they hosted lots of monthly game nights. Just a fun place to hang out locally and great for a small town. Cheers 🍻!

Ah, that sucks! Always hate to see breweries close, but with so many out there nowadays, it's inevitable. Hopefully, something cool replaces it.

Haven't seen this in the local OKC area stores this year. But I'm going to keep my eye out. These "Christmas beers" tend to get priced down in some stores after new years - but in my experience these higher ABV beers do not go bad - at least that I can tell.

    • @averagejoe716
      @averagejoe716  2 дні тому +1

Yeah, I've already seen some of the holiday beers already on sale, which makes sense considering they need to move them to make room for new beer. As far as higher ABV beers going bad, you're right in that many of them can age well. As long as there's not a ton of adjuncts, they should hold up for a long while. I'm sure there's some folks out there that have prior vintages of this from years ago that are probably tasting good.
      Cheers, man!

Strangely I've never had a beer from them.

Really? I know they don't get distribution to some New England region states. Their barrel-aged beer is great!
      Cheers!

Nice! Yeah, Boulevard is more of a grocery/gas store beer brand nowadays, but damn are some of them delicious. These is an old school Winter Warmer, and it fits the season perfectly.
      Cheers, man!

It's in the low-20s. Tons of snow in southern Buffalo, but not a single flake on the ground here. Super cold, though. It was incredibly windy last night, too.
      Cheers, Billy!

Always glad to spot something from Don Russell's 'Christmas Beer' 2008. Had about half of them and so many new ones since the books publishing. With this one last year I felt I was tasting history. Before the contemporary over the top with adjuncts that we so love and before the day there were only 3 beers, and they all tasted like the same bad water. Is this what they were and what a Christmas beer would have been? This need to be tried out of context, in the spring or as I saved for Christmas in July.
Oh. Potter's who? Jeff what? I doubt we have crossover viewers, but potters do like their beer. I toyed with the idea of doing a review each month or season. I don't speak the language, have the nose, pallet and ability to articulate it. Embarrassing to watch so many guys attempt it, trying to fake it. If I did, I just say what I did above adding I love how they've not changed a classic looking label and give credit there to the employees too.
Hey to another of your artist friends'; Paul over at PA Brew News.

Yeah, I feel like so many Christmas beers nowadays are just brewed with a bunch of holiday spices and/or adjuncts, and they call it a day. It's very akin to pumpkin beer, where nobody cares about making a good base beer to standup to all the crazy adjuncts. A beer like this is the traditional Winter Warmer, meant for enjoying during the colder months. Plus, you look at it as more of a nightcap, so the beer is a bit sweeter and malt-driven, while still maintaining a good balance. The warming effect is from the alcohol, but not supposed to be boozy. I appreciate these classics. Never read that Don Russell book, but maybe I need to grab it!
I appreciate your continued viewership and all the comments, Jeff. While pottering isn't my thing, I typically watch your videos whenever you release one. Not all the time, but when they come across my feed, I give 'em a go. I'm always curious about different things in life -- hobbies -- so it's fun to check out. I watched a bit of your making pine video and it was cool seeing an authentic wreath being produced.
As for reviewing beer, do it! Man, it might sound like I know what I'm talking about, but I'm literally just a regular dude sitting down and giving you my opinion. Your vocabulary is better than mine, so I think you'd be quite good at it. Even if you don't think you are, if you're having fun, that's all that matters! I'd certainly watch a monthly/seasonal review from you, without question.
Paul is so talented, it's unreal. Such a good dude, too.
      Cheers, Jeff!
