It sure is….i love camera pulls just to see what’s going to be on the farms, and final touches on plots! Won’t be long now! Thanks for watching and good luck!
Is Deer gro plot start really a lime alternative? My USDA office says no. Deer GRO is calcium chloride, lime is calcium carbonate. True liquid lime, is made of calcium carbonate correct? Why are youtubers promoting a product that is not really benefiting the soil? Can you do a video explaining the difference between calcium chloride and calcium carbonate(lime). Ive heard calcium chloride is used on highways as a brine since it don't freeze, as well as in tires.. I'd like to use liquid lime, but feeel I've been tricked by false marketing and people getting paid lots of $$ to promote a product that really is not beneficial to my soil and food plots.
Hey! Go back about 7 months to a video of mine called “The Truth Exposed” it answers every question you ask and I go into a lot of details about it! Thanks for watching
Thank you! I really appreciate the support and I’m so glad you’re enjoying the content and finding it helpful! Good luck with the plots, and thanks for watching
I dropped the ball….you asked me to do this experiment this year and it totally slipped my mind and I forgot. I hope the plot does great for you and the deer hammer it! Thanks for watching and good luck with the plots
I planted 5 acres of corn not in a square block but used as food and cover in 30 foot rows allong the tree lines 25ft from the woods. I have a 1acre established white clover. Im going to add another acre of crimson clover in the next few weeks. The turnips and radish dont work for me. The deer in my area just dont hit it. I also have over 50 apple trees dropping apples on some trees already. With all i offer for the deer it helps very little. With all the Amish hunting pressure in my area the deer become nocturnal or totally disappear. Best of luck to everyone.
Neighbors are one of the few things we can’t do much about….try to provide as much cover as we can and have little to no hunting pressure and hope they find your refuge quickly. Thanks for watching and good luck!
Thank you Tommy, I appreciate the support! I use urea, and I put around 30-50 LBS of nitrogen down for cereals grains, and around 100 LBS of nitrogen for brassicas. Thanks for watching
I’ve done that in the past with good results, but I’ve read some studies that high amounts of nitrogen breaking down when plants are emerging can cause some issues. The best way is 2-3 days before planting or a week or so afterwards. I should mention the only time I would be worried about that is with very high amounts of nitrogen, like if you were trying to put all your nitrogen down pre plant, (100 LBS of actual nitrogen per acre). A split application I think would be less risky. If your going to disk, then just throw the fertilizer first, then disk it then, the put the brassicas on top and pack them in by driving over them before a good rain.
did none of this KY rain make it over to you? We go all kinds of rain, gonna be dry for next few weeks but hopefully turns around mid August when I plant my brassica! Good luck brother
@@troybrake5686 i wish it had im in central wv and have planted twice in prep for predicted rain and nothing, hoping come sept i can prpeare for winter planting for spring green up
I didn't plant soybeans, didn't plant corn since my last fall's brassica and clover food plots are now all thick white clover. Do you think this is good enuf or do I need to try to put in some more brassicas even if there's hardly any bare ground? Should I just leave things alone or tear up perfectly good clover and replant another new fall greens plot mix? Thanks Plot Professor...
I would likely leave it alone this year and hunt it! See what happens, it may do very well in your area. If it doesn’t then you can always terminate it next spring or fall and plant fall plots. If you wanted some insurance you could plant one plot to fall plot mix and leave the other in the clover! Good luck and thanks for watching
Such a fun time of the year, deer in velvet, tweaking food plots, filling water holes, getting gear ready, planning this year’s strategy. Love it!

First year doing Kale this year. Data shows kale yields twice the tonnage per acre then other brassica.

Another great video Wes, what type of Nitrogen do you use and how much to the acre?

I have some 10.10.10 bags of fiertilizer would it fo well to spread before planting fall blend?
Yes 10-10-10 is a great fertilizer choice for bringing up nitrogen phosphorus and potassium. Thanks for watching and good luck with the plots
Thanks. I sprayed weeds on Friday wanted to disk and seed on the 5th for brassica can I spread my fertilizer right before I seed. ?? Thanks
