Good review. I agree with all of it. After using Sidi's from 1995 to 2020, I switched to Specialized for 2 reasons - varus tilt (I used shims on the Sidi's) and the bolt holes being further rearward on the sole. Glad to see that maybe they moved the bolt holes rearward on the new model. The velcro on tongue is also something I applaud, since on my Sidi's - every model - the tongue would always slide to one side of shoe while riding. Must be just my feet. The only other thing these shoe mfg'rs need to do is supply better insoles - I always used the BG's on my Sidi's.
I have exactly the same shoe and color in a 48EU. After using the Sidi for decades, i've found their fit to be great for me. My only complaint with the Shot 2 was the top techno buckle digging into the top of each foot through the tongue. It was unbearable, I had to pad them with mole skin bandages to lessen the pain, but it really needs more attention. My original models do not do this? It's funny, I've never found the heel tensioner to make any difference in tightness? I wish it did for me, but in general Sidi shoes fit me so well the heel tension isnt an issue. My go to Sidi is still the original Shot, but I love the look, quality and extra toe box room the Shot 2 provide.
For the Velcro part, you just need to release them all the way from the opposite site of the Velcro only; thus, you don’t detach the Velcro every time. I have some Sixty and they have the same system.
Been using Sidi cycling shoes since the early 90’s. All have been great (awesome) … until the Shot 2. I find it difficult to get the cable tensioned just right. It’s possible that the slightly wider shoe doesn’t work with my relatively narrow foot. Also, I don’t like the Velcro on the upper toungue area. Lastly, the material they used is very difficult to clean. Road grime and oil from the drive train seems to penetrate the material and is difficult to get out. I prefer the old glossy much less pourous material Sidi used on previous models. I would definitely not buy another pair of the shot 2.
Good review. I found the Sidi Wire 2 less snug around the forefoot and toe area compared to the Genius versions and I prefer the more snug low-volume fit of the Genius. The Shot 2 seem to have a similar mesh and toe box that the Genius have. How do they compare in terms of fit to the Genius or previous Sidi shoes?
Not sure why so many people hate this brand, I have 2 pairs and love them.
I think they’re heavy and pricey… that’s all I can think of. Ultra comfy though.

I don't really use the heal tensioner either... That why I'm interested in the SIXTY as my next shoe... Cheaper and possibly even lighter.

Sidi is a narrow fit! Try them on if you can.
SIDI always nice shoes, do they come in silver? Silver would be dope. But I would probably just get black.

They are slightly wider to me in the same size… could be in my head, but seems that way :)
I would agree, my Shot 2's are wider in the forefoot.
