Ok I’m a 4 stripe blue and never been told about the around the head counter to get into guard or the pinkie control. This is my new favorite rnc video
Amazing, simply amazing! this is the quintessential tutorial. It makes easy to comprehend a very, high-technical move. I have been clapping for 20 minutes.
wtf I literally just had this class a few hours ago and still I'm learning loads! o.O That back swim escape was sick btw, I'm totally trying that next class
Professor Firas is an extraordinary teacher, more importantly a humble human. We should aim as martial artists to learn from from his humility first, and skillset secondary. An exemplary Master!
I've never actually trained Jiu Jitsu or watched any kind of instructional video, but I feel like Firas just taught me 3 different techniques that most Jiu Jitsu practitioners don't even know.
This is basically how I've started all my back attacks for ages but I appreciated the little details like becoming more diagonal by bringing the bottom leg across the waist. Should probably have mentioned that the benefit of falling to the under hook side is that you can transition into sankaku and/or juji gatame if you loose, or struggle to finish, the choke.
Ran into Firas at the mall in Okc and took a pic with him and thanked him for what he does. He was super down to earth and friendly! Best in the game. wish he and TonyF were teamed up so we could see where that leads.
I think I can speak for some people when I say that the snapping of the fingers really bring back the focus to us people who have trouble focusing on things such as this. I always dream away during my coach's way of explaining a technique but by Coach Zahabi simply snapping his fingers he brings his focus right back. Would love to train at his gym.
This is super interesting! In my much more limited experience people have always said to try and lean and fall to the choking arm side. I guess this is because you don't want to let them get their head on the mat and begin slipping out, but the way that Firas does it is kind of slip his leg and shift over to the side where his head is hugging which seems to do the same thing. I am going to try doing it this way!
John Danaher Firas’s Master teaches these exact hand fighting techniques in his back attack DVD you can purchase on BJJ Fanatics. He has much more detail but great basic run down by Firas
Damn that arm grab with the leg is shifty af. Letting them get the arm off the neck making them think they’re defending when they’re just doing what you want them to.🔥
Great video guys. Tons of details most I've never seen. You 2 work well together. That sparring vid was cool too. Please keep it up for us all. Thanks 👍🏻🤼♂️😁
Invite Firas back to show us how to get out of this choke, not a modified or similar choke, but this exact hybrid, on the ground, then we will all be better off.
Firas is a master and this is great entry into Danaher style back attacks but I'd really recommend Danaher's Enter the System Back Attacks instructional for a complete overview of this topic.
I remember seeing your "one weird tip to win any street fight" all those years ago. Man how far you have come! That's mad inspiring.
it's a pretty good tip at that, knowing you have a slight upper hand can mean a lot!
and it was just having a mouthpiece in your pocket hahah
god the snaps help so MUCH at focusing
yeah i tend to lose focus around 5 seconds
And annoying at the same time lol
@@uaebikers Really F.....ing annoying.
I was waiting for him to click with his toe
I would of NEVER of focused without the snapping lol
Firas is a real master! And Shane and Firas have good chemistry together!
Kevin Morley I miss Baba jenkins
Yeah, they got a lot of work done from the behind the back
Firas is sharing some gems for Christmas! Thanks for distributing it, Santa Fazen!
I wish firas was my personal coach, or my best friend...or even my dad.
tru
shane "i'm a big fan of massage but i just dont like people touching me"

Bizarre product plug! Let's face it, the only thing getting massaged by that drilldo is Shane's prostate.
There's a huge fucking diference between those touch

Firas is a legend. I've loved him on Joe Rogan Experience both times 😍
Amazing, simply amazing! this is the quintessential tutorial. It makes easy to comprehend a very, high-technical move. I have been clapping for 20 minutes.
They hugged for 8 minutes then he said he doesn't like people touching him lol. Great video tho :)
😂🤣
And then brought out the drilldo to celebrate :D
wtf I literally just had this class a few hours ago and still I'm learning loads! o.O

Not the "Lat" (Lattissimus Dorsi) which is under the armpit but the "Trap" or Trapesius, the muscle across the top of the back. Good vid.
I was looking to see if someone has noticed it before posting. 👍
Trap not lat.
Man these videos get me hyped to learn mma

Good for you Shane! You have really evolved since the first videos you posted :) I love seeing things coming together for you. Much love

Grabbing the pinky is a game changer never knew about that
You can tell Shane felt the effect of the choke at 3:42
Yeah man. He probably was seeing stars at that point. It's crazy how your vision just goes black when you get caught by a deep choke.

Make a video with Firas on drills that beginners can do at home, alone, to get a basic understanding of Jiu jitsu.
Great vid as always, Shane!
@7:22 You have to put your hand over your bicep to lock in the choke my friend.
Firas is a master and this is great entry into Danaher style back attacks but I'd really recommend Danaher's Enter the System Back Attacks instructional for a complete overview of this topic.
