One trick some video makers use to get a part in focus on camera is to either hold their other hand or a card or other wide object behind the item, to help the autofocus see that item and not the background behind it.
Those screws on the back are "captive screws". You're intended to leave them in the back shell so that you can't lose them. You're doing it correctly. 😀
