Interesting that the new clock spins faster - I thought it was the music starting later. I remember a conundrum where someone was able to buzz with the clock fully lit as the music hadn't quite finished yet. It seemed to be tweaked alongside the set update and has been synced up better (to me, at least) since. Great work, as usual. That background looks spot on!
They've certainly synced it up better since the current set came out. I remember the hand stopping just before the final note playing on the previous design. I think with the conundrum instances, the music sometimes goes out of sync, albeit ever so slightly, when a contestant buzzes - I've definitely seen that on some occasions. Well it must be good if you're complimenting it!! 😁
Funnily enough, it was from your video of the current clock that I discovered the segment lights turning on just before the hand ran over them. I'd never have even noticed that had it not been for you.
@@AdamBeachDesign Well, happy to have helped! And equally funnily enough, it was from your videos that I noticed the old clock lights were ever so slightly behind. I'll have to tweak my new model and see if 29.5s makes a difference. Yeah, the old clock in particular would be out of sync if it was restarted, sometimes by quite a way. I'm guessing the contestant buzzers didn't (and maybe still don't) stop the music, so it was down to someone in the gallery being on the ball or not. The new one does generally seem better for that so maybe they've a better setup now.

To be honest, that wasn't intentional on my other videos; what you see on those in simply the result of the sequence playing over a the 30-second timeframe. What's certain is that the buzzers definitely didn't stop the music in the earlier days. There's an episode lingering around from the first series where the music was out of sync with the clock by around 5 seconds because the buzzer didn't sound loud enough for the gallery to pause the track. Even in shows as late as the mid-90s it was blatantly obvious it was stopped manually.

The old clock, which was used until 2013, had the hand reset around the left side of the face. On the current model it resets anti-clockwise, as depicted in this video.

Thanks. I could do, yeah. The only reason for using the pattern from the "original" blue set is because I prefer that one to the existing version.
