He did gradually get better though. 2021’s 6-7 wasnt anything like 2022. 2021 we got blown out in games. In 2022 4 of our losses were by 1 score and another by 10 points. That is progress
5-5 his first year was a miracle.
@@robertnicholas7647that should be looked at as a 8-5 year. That was an all sec schedule and they had some really good wins
Yeah no one really cares though cause Missouri shouldn't even be in the SEC.
@@GetITgotITGOOD24 yet here we are, despite your objection.
@@GetITgotITGOOD24must be a fan of a cellar team
Hell Georgia may have half of their team in jail by the time football season starts if someone doesn’t get them under control.

10-2 seems very doable. In years prior, @ Alabama is a guaranteed loss. With DeBoer, it’s yet to be seen what his version of Alabama looks like. However, with all the talent they have + DeBoer being a good HC + in Bryant Denny, I’d lean Alabama pretty heavily. Oklahoma in CoMo is a toss up game IMO. I think Mizzou has the horses to win that game but it won’t be easy. Then @ A&M will be another tough one considering Elko is expected to really turn that program around. Not to mention the fact that Auburn is expected to be much improved. The schedule looks light, but there’s a couple games on here where people are lower than they should be on the teams
Think about what variable changed from the 6-6 years to last year. Eli got an OC and quit calling plays. The year prior when Eli allowed Bush Hamdan to call the plays the difference was striking. It’s a big difference and it’s why the Offense will hum again this season
Not in the same way,be a good offense yes,be just as productive doubtful. 9 win team most likely.
The problem with mizou is the way college football views them. A one loss Georgia or Bama is always going to get a nod over a one loss mizzou. You're never going to get the same accolades or respect as those others. Wether that's fair or unfair, it's just the way it is. And now OU and us are here, that perception will only be worse especially after running away from the the Big8 like y'all did. Anyway hook'em 🤘
@@chilaxin09 This year’s Mizzou O will make last year’s look pedestrian. Mizzou will have the best O in the SEC and likely be top 3-5 in the nation. The question is whether or not that D is just top 20-30, if so, Mizzou is in the SEC title game with 1 or 0 losses.
@@chadstearman this is an insane take lol
@@chilaxin09 Not if you know anything about the roster.
Thanks for covering all SEC teams. BOLD PREDICTION... Mizzou beats Georgia in the SEC Championship game. Finally getting a win against Georgia in another close game vs Bulldogs.
They don't have the players for that
😂
So weird not seeing GA or TN on that schedule.
agreed lol.
Or Florida. That's been a great series
Yeah pretty cake walk schedule, at least it can prop your program up for two years though am I right?
As far as atm, look at the recent history with Mizzou. Hint Mizzou has owned them. They split in the Johnny football era.
2022 was a year where Mizzou flat out had a few weird losses that fell them back to a .500 team. Missed chip shot fog last play by Meavis, huh and then rob fumbles through the end zone while diving for winner in to vs Auburn, the roughing the punter vs Kentucky that was so fucked the NCAA changed the way that play is ruled now. Handed the game to Florida via turnovers. So is Mizzou’s 2022 a negative via they found a way to shit the bed. Or is it the team that went toe to toe vs Georgia. I think 9-3 is a fair prediction but the losses will not include USC or State. If they lose 3 it will be between Aggies, Tide, OU & Auburn. I actually am predicting 10-2.
Mizzou sneaking into the SEC title game
By buying tickets
Brady cook had a torn labrum almost the entire 2023 season lol
He had a bum leg in '23, put up near 400 yds on ground regardless.
Played last 11 games + Bowl game in '22 with a torn labrum
Brady cook is a JAG. Y'all are going 9-3 maybe 8-4. Columbia Missouri is trash as well, trust me I used to have to work there.
He was a better QB with that labrum issue and bummed leg helped him deceive players vs what they saw on tape. He is a JAG- BRO.
@@GetITgotITGOOD24 you sound butthurt and ignorant
"I ignored everything Drink did prior to coming to Mizzou"
It takes time for recruits to get to campus man.
App State was winning when he took over as well. But I get it he needed laws to be written in Missouri to entice instate players to be bought so they didn't flee that shit hole state..no other reason to stay, Columbia Mo is straight garbage.
Eli was 3 plays away from 8-4 2 years ago.. Context is important.
Interesting Lou.😂 but it depends on where a team is ranked to maybe make a playoff spot at 10-2 and even 9 and 3
I'm a Mizzou fan... 9-3 with wins over 0U, Auburn and the hogs... that's pretty good.
The success is based on coordinators. He’s a new coach and realized his limitations. If he’s figured out who to bring in versus just getting lucky at the hire. Time will tell.
You’re completely ignoring the fact that the first year was an all sec schedule. 5-5 isn’t a normal “.500 record”.
I’m not sure you can call the running back situation “lightning in a bottle” when he’s had 2/3 SEC leading rushers the last 3 years. And I think if you look beyond the overall record, there is constant improvement. 2020 - weird year but still 5-5 against all SEC competition. 2021 - lose big. 2022- lose small. 2023 - win small.
Hot take: 11-1, making the SECCG with their lone loss to Bama
They have to play Georgia? You think Missouri could actually beat UGA this year…. lol
@@peytongardner302 is Georgia on the schedule? No!
no way. they will regress dramatically on defense. 9-3 or 10-2
@@cameronmerrill_ who do you have them losing to? I figured one would def be Bama
@@zachcoggins9018 oklahoma and then an unlikely opponent like Lou suggests. they lost some serious dudes and leaders from last years team and i dont think the cultute there where it needs to be to go 11-1
After watching South Carolina, Missouri has no chance of losing that game
Not a bad schedule. They avoid Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss, and LSU (all projected top 25 teams). I would be surprised if they don't win at least 8 games. They could possibly go 10-2, but I think they finish 9-3
Sounds like the team from the show me state needs to show Uncle Lou:). Fair assessment overall.
I’ve got a friend who’s a Missouri fan and he pointed out that Drinkwitz has only beaten 5-6 teams with winning records since he arrived. You can go down their schedule the last 4 seasons and pretty much see their wins and loses based on if that team had a winning record or not at season end.
I agree though. I think Missouri is the type of program that’ll have a good season every 3-4 years when their team is full of experience and then go back to rebuilding.
This is true. He's a 500 coach up til last year.
Lucky they don’t play Tennessee this year. Heupel would “stand on business”. How sad it looked when drinkwitz said that and ran away like a little girl because he was embarrassed about getting blown out the previous two years
Stand. On. Business. It kills UT fans that Mizzou has been the better overall program since 2012. Just some friendly trash talk!! Take care of business UT and we’ll see you in ATL!!
Only 3 schools with 3 or more 11 win seasons in SEC play since conference realignment. They are Missouri, Alabama, and Georgia.
Between Midzous last two 11+ win seasons, they are a combined 47-51. I know it feels nice to put your name in a conversation with Bama and Georgia but lets not act like Mizzou is even remotely close to that level.
@@Thunderstickgm Wasn't doing that at all. Missouri was a Big 12 bottom feeder for decades and are doing better in the SEC. Probably why Texas & Oklahoma expect to dominate the SEC.
@@michaelhart6318 Missouri is an SEC bottom feeder the majority of the time just like they were in the Big 12. People just only remember back 2 years ago for whatever reason.

Hey lou, explain what might happen play off wise if Missouri winds up going 10-2? I would love to hear this.
They are in
You hit it out if the park here. (Who am I though) And your explanations were awesome. I think that break after OU at SC will give Mizzou a wake up call for sure. SC and MS have "seaon ruiner" written all over them. GJ
No way in hell they're dropping to either. SC the more likely of the 2.
I just don't see it
Cody Schrader was a walk-on ...let that sink in...
Yea 9-3 w a chance at back to back 10 win seasons sounds fine. Although I hope it's the floor this year. But no cap would I take 10-3 all day long. But 2 11 win years in a row hits different let's go for that.
This reminds me of Kentucky when they started getting double digit wins and then immediately went back to a middle of the pack sec school. Mizzou had a great year and probably will have a good year this year and then go back to .500 ball after that.
I agree with almost everything you said in this video. I don’t research too far into programs so knowing they have to replace a lot of their impact players on defense changes my vision for them. However I do think they go 10-2 loss to Bama and South Carolina. The Texas A&M game I think they win because it’s coming out of a bye week.
Mizzou has owned USC, 5 straight games in fact. Not sure why all these people on here saying USC wins that one.
@@tackle47I’m not too familiar with mizzou football but my reasoning for picking mizzou to lose is that it’s late in the season, probably gonna be injuries. Oklahoma isn’t going to be amazing but they’ll be good and you play them the week before so you’re probably even more exhausted. And it’s back to back road games and out of Mississippi state, Arkansas, and South Carolina I think you’d lose to South Carolina
Mizzou with the easiest SEC sched is MASSIVE
Been waiting patiently for the Dawgs video.
Ducks are next
Johnny Walker Jr was the def mvp of the bowl game.. and a for sure 1st rounder next year
9-3, the regression at defense will be noticeable.
11-1 loss to Bama

I think 🤔 with the additions of Texas and Oklahoma in the SEC I think 🤔 Missouri 🐯 and Oklahoma 🐎 should close out the season annually they have familiarity from their BiG 12 days and there fore LSU 🐯 and Arkansas 🐖" The Battle for the boot " will close out the season
They have a great team. I think they could go undefeated. People are going to sleep on them, and they will pay. They’ve got the talent at every level. Hopefully, my Aggies can keep it close.
9-3, think the big win of the year comes over Oklahoma but im confident their gonna lose at least one of those games their supposed to win like most teams do (in Mizzous case every team other than Bama and A&M.) that loss will likely come to either Auburn, Miss St or South Carolina.
13-2 only loses are to Georgia in the SEC championship game, win a playoff game at Faurot field, lose to a team like Notre Dame in the 2nd round of the playoffs.
Well done, very knowledgeable well thought out

A lot of that talent left lol
Missouri could win that A&M game because we have a big before it. And glad we have a bye week after Bama so we ain't beat up the next week. The shedule gods of college football really did us a favor.
😂😂😂 fr wish they can grant us a HUGE w to shut bama up
Mizzou ain't losing to south carolina 🤣. The UMass game was scheduled by the AD Mizzou had many years ago. We've had 2 different AD's since then who tried to get this game off the schedule but UMass has flat refused a buyout, that's why the game is happening. Mizzou will blow them out and take glory in it now.
The officials helped bama in that sec title game as i figures saban last year
You still crying? Stop mildew from running 10+ yards a carry and maybe you could have beat them.
@jonboy87 nope not crying there was multiple holding calls and a pass interference on Bowers in the endzone son

@jonboy87 it not a bunch if bull as I played football and watched the game and yeah it happened on both sides but bama had more calls not and especially the pass interference call in the endzone and i said even last year by saban body language he was thinking of retirement and I was right!

16-0 to 10-2. MIZ is going 11-1. Let's see what you have to say.
As a Missouri fan I think this is a fair prediction. Before last year we would have been over the moon to have a 9-3 season. I really think we have the potential to do better this season but I also live in reality and we have the bad habit of beating people we shouldn’t beat and losing to teams we should beat…. Ultimately I would love to see us at 10-2 or 11-1 but I don’t want to get too big for my britches. I think the STP mindset will make or break us this year, the most counted out we are the better we’ll do.

Nothing to do with mizzu but Lou lou lou. I will say this sunbelt billy alot better in keeping his players in line then kirby. You're a joke. Do some research before you spout off.
You don't make coherent statements about any point or know the players. Examples:
1. Cody Schraeder was a 2 year player at MU
2. MU has had 2 of the last 3 SEC rushing leaders
3. You called Darius Robinson a DB
4. You PAY no attention to how scheduling works. UMASS came to MIZZOU twice for their one home game
And as an aside, Williams Nwaneri is not a DT. He might play inside in some situations, but he's a DE.

We're going to find out aren't we. Was last year a fluke or is another big season in store. Now let's not act like we didn't win 11 games and lose to Georgia in Athens in a tight one and LSU in a game we were blowing them out. On top of that basically winning comfortably every other game including Tennessee, Kentucky, Carolina, Ohio State. Doesn't sound like a lucky year. Now bring back the offense with a better o line. Defense being the wild card but plenty of talent Khalil Jacobs and Tristan Newson at backer could be the top lb unit, pride and Norwood at corner right up there, d line solid. Keep on sleepin I'll take it.
ALA 's Oline is not good.
They gave up 44 sacks last year. Both Centers transferred out, one LT went to the NFL. 2 starters gone. They're worse this year than last.
59 guys gone. 44 new players. ALA game is a tossup B/C it's at ALA.
OU will be a 10+ win.
MIZ has a winning record at A&M with much worse teams. Tossup MIZ lean.
We'll beat MSST by 14+.
S.Car? That's a joke right? When was the last time they beat us? Oh 2018, 6 years ago with 6-6 teams. We're 6-0 against them 6yrs in a row.
Factoring in how the team was 3, 4, & 5 years ago means absolutely nothing.
That's why all the "experts" picked MIZ 5-7 last year, & A&M, MIA, & NEB to win it every year, lol.
MIZ's better at almost every position & position group.
Abrams-Draine is a huge loss, but they've got guys in the secondary. Norwood will be an all SEC type guy, so will Pride 4 star FLA trans. I love Clarke, breakout year for him.
May be the best Safety/Star unit in the sec.
The DL stuff you mentioned? No idea what you're talking about.
LDE & LDT Walker & Williams are all SEC caliber returning guys. Mclellan & Young on the right side are 4 star trans from MIA & MSU. Behind them are SR Joe Moore, & 2 more highly rated Jr trans Kelly & Webb. Nwanerri the 5 star is 3rd string right now. Gracial who is a RSSO is really good. also 3rd string. The DL is fine.
Not a great analysis. 10-2 is the floor, 16-0 the ceiling.
