My teaching pro is working with me to accomplish what you are teaching but different methodology. Watching this video helps me understand more of how to get to where I want be. I especially liked the trackman part.
Another fantastic lesson. My steep golf swing has been very frustrating. I can’t wait to try these simple tips. Mark’s UA-cam lessons have all been incorporated into my game and my handicap has dropped 5 strokes in a year. Great job Mark.
another great video. I came to mark two lessons ago. prior to lessons, I only carried my driver in the bag so I could use it in case of snakes or other animals attacking me. Mark has helped me turn a horrible over the top swing to a budding draw. this video and the trackman screen shots really helped me to understand the why's of marks teaching
I understand your demonstration of shallowing the club by swinging inside to out. When do I, or should I, concern myself with taking a divot or covering the ball with the club face?
Hi Steven! Great question. If you are coming from a steep swing hitting down and covering the golf ball shouldn't be an issue. If your swing is getting too shallow it might need to be an active thought in the downswing. This video should help with hitting down more: ua-cam.com/video/p6hEPNIgQfo/v-deo.html.
At last I can see the true mechanics of a proper golf swing. My questions is how much rotation of the wrists are required to prevent slicing. I seem to leave my face club open they impact, or is it because I am swing over the top.
Hi Joe! The longer the club the earlier in the downswing you’ll need to feel the release. My guess is you’re using the two ball drill? May be as early as transition. Let me know. Thanks
The two ball drill is great. I’m hitting my irons solid. I was always taught to lead with my hip but I can’t process that. This forces you to open up your hips at impact. I still need to spend more time working on this with the driver.
Hi Charly! Check this video out ua-cam.com/video/lc9RNvIwg1w/v-deo.html and let me know if you have any questions. It's called How To Fix An In To Out Path if the link doesn't work. Thanks.
Tired these tips at the range. Is there a reason I was having better results with my driver than 7 iron? I could not make solid contact with the 7i but hit the driver solid every single time.
Thanks Patrick! Glad you're hitting the driver better. We can get too shallow with the 7-iron and have contact issues (because the ball is on the ground). Work on not shallowing the 7-iron quite so much and let me know how it goes.
Mark, This is a very helpful video, but I noticed that the target lines in the two Trackman examples are not parallel, and therefore, your position relative to the camera is significantly different. As a result, the differences in club positions at various points of your two swings are somewhat exaggerated. I figure you may have done this to contrast the two swings, but I believe it would be even more helpful if the setup in both was the same. Great video, regardless.
Durland Golf school for the win! I just hit a bunch on draws doing this drill. Super excited!!
Awesome Luke! Glad it helped.

Thanks Mike! You forgot that you put a lot of hard work in too.
Thank you for your kind words!
Really enjoyed this Mark, headed to the practice tee!
My pleasure Bruce! I’ll see you here, on the tee teaching. Keep working hard!
Awesome vid

Hi Mark, What’s the drill for being too shallow or under plane as you discussed early in the video?

Great video! When I practice this should I expect my divot to angle towards the outside of target a bit, or to go straight towards the target?
Hi Brad! Great question. Technically you can see either divot. The biggest thing is to avoid a left divot (assuming right-handed player).
