The hexagonal midrange array surrounding a tweeter was "new and innovative" when Tekton did it years ago, although they re-purposed tweeters to serve as midrange drivers. The idea of flanking woofers with opposed force-cancelling bracing was used in KEF's Blade, albeit outward-firing.
this one should be selling for about $50,000 US I believe, I still wish they would have brought out a PL500 3G which probably would have been at about 35,000 and would have beat speakers double to triple the price.
I think that was a big mistake not bringing out the PL500G3 to be the flagship of the platinum line because it would only be probably around $35,000 US and be better than speakers costing two to three times that so would be competing with speakers in the 70 to 95,000 price range. and I've heard the hyphn online and it sounded phenomenal but comparing it to the G3 it's not really that much better to be worth three times as much and I think that's why they didn't bring out the platinum 500 G3 because at 35,000 it would be very close to the hyphn in sound quality.
The shape of geniuses why’s it have to be a ripoff like all the other ridiculous prices in this hobby made for only fools with F money 👎🏼i will stick to my used bought 300ii thank you
wat ever it is just a project to make more money out of you sound engineering was already perfected years a go. what is neckst a weel barrel with disc brakes and suspension and heated handels.
I don't think they're going to be selling too many at $95,000 US, I was told the reason that they didn't bring out the PL500 G3 is because they didn't sell very many well one dealer in Portugal sold 16 pairs of them so I think 35,000 is a lot easier to take than 95,000 and they would sell a lot more of the PL500 than they will this one.
I've heard these online already and they sounded phenomenal but you know what, comparing them to the platinum G3 they're not that much better to be that much more expensive not worth $92,000 that's for sure.
@@sneakyp1484 I don't think I know they use silver plated OFC, a speaker that's 95,000 should be using the best conductor out there which has been proven for over 50 years to be OCC single crystal maybe you should do some research lol
Think its a cool design. Like the double grill in two colors. Nice when speaker ingineering works with design
MA: "That doesn't couple in the same way as it would if the tweeter was in the middle of the drive unit..."
Kef: "And we took that personally!"

Wow! Just like Tekton Design.
This is something for James Bond’s living room.
I love it ❤ 👏👏👏 nice 🍺
Great design… Substitute for PL500 mk3 or twice the price? 😂

You heard them online? So you haven't heard them then!
and also for this price of speaker they should be using OCC single crystal wire which is far superior than that cheap silver plated OFC that they use
Perhaps you'd like to design them for them as you think you know so much.
