You are the man. Exactly the issue with my 2003 XLE - drivers side and in the back position. Moving laterally a bit instead of back and forth. Looks like it's the junkyard or bust for me. Thanks for taking the time to share make this video!
We had the same problem. Used this video to help take seat apart. Found a DIME stuck in the screw rod. Also the blocks were frozen all the way forward. We broke free the blocks and positioned as video did 3 inches down. Seat worked!!! Yahoo!!!
my 2003 seat froze on the righthand side after i took it all the way back - removed as shown in vid and then gave the threaded shaft a few whacks on the back of the rod and it popped back in place - works fine now but i will never take the seat all the way back - thx!
Thanks! this looks like it applies to my 2000 Camry. I'm hoping it's also a torx t50. Right now I'm just trying to realign the rails so I can bolt it back in.
I had a hard time getting the seat bolted back down. I removed the metal square that rides on the screw... the seat slides freely on that side now....power seat worked so I could bolt back down.. then ran a bunch of self tappers into the guide so it stopped sliding freely....it, of course, froze the seat but eliminated the concern of the seat breaking free in a hard stop...or collision. But technically, you could eliminate the self tappers and the power seat operates sufficiently....just can't be sitting in the seat...and you have to help it a bit.... basically, it's a way to get the power seat functionality if you have to have it.
Thanks for this video. I have a 2005 Camry and my drivers seat will only adjust on the switch side but I was able to adjust the other rail as it has a 12mm nut on the end of the worm shaft at the front of the seat.
I had the same issue except door side was not moving but passenger side was moving. After I removed the seat i found the flexiable drive shaft from motor to screw rod was out of the worm gear. After i put it back, it worked.
We are replacing cloth manual seats in our 2007 sienna with leather motorized seats. Is this a huge deal To do? Would it be simpler to make the motorized leather seats manual?
Connie’s Dog Channel hey if you have manual seats and there are not connectors under the seat it would be a great difficulty unless you are electrically inclined and can find hot wires to tap into. Keep searching UA-cam maybe someone has done it.
Were you able to ever replace that gear or did you just replace the seat and I was thinking of doing the same thing however without power how do you know the seats you're buying at the junkyard is any good? I guess short answer would be you don't but if you have any ideas on that or if you're able just to replace the gear by taking it out of the junkyard seats let me know thanks
S U Here’s that video I did. ua-cam.com/video/D7vAG3cSJOE/v-deo.html But yeah it a gamble on getting one that’s good. But I pulled it myself cost me only $25 that’s worth it. I saw some seats that were trashed then found the jewel.
So if my seat are all the way back, I can adjust center with what you showed us? Is there a special tool you use in drill, drill heads I have are too big or small, even screw drivers. Thanks for video.
As I recall, adjust the threaded nut on both adjusting threaded rods to the same location then reattach the mounts for the seat and you should be good.

Nicely done, sir. Thank you.

Raptor50aus would love to see a pic of that. Sounds different than my 2003

Excellent video and explanation. Thank you.
Great video thanks
Thanks for your video fix this problem it fix for 1200$
When Toyota doesn’t sell replacement parts…your Toyota will have to be fixed with JUNK YARD TOYOTA parts…thanks, TOYOTA!
Good instructions, focus on the meat
Thanks for this
It helps. Thank you
Great vid! How do u know the motor is good? How test?
Thx👍
In the old one you can hear it working. The one from the junkyard you won’t know until you plug it in and try it.
Wonder how hard it would be to transfer the whole mechanism from another seat from a junkyard.
It should be possible
Word. Thanks.

I would not.....
Those power seats are always an issue, cant go wrong with the manual adjusted seat....

really the only special tool needed is a T50 bit to remove the track (it's the star-shaped bolt)
Small flat head screw driver or small Allen head bit
Thanks.
@@1234Scott Thanks.
did you adjust the seat for your wife to have it farther forward? My 03 camry seat has the exact same problem
I adjusted it so the seat was forward for her. If she were a few inches taller I would have set it centered probably.
how where you able to put the seat bolt in once the seat is adjusted all the way front?
As I recall, adjust the threaded nut on both adjusting threaded rods to the same location then reattach the mounts for the seat and you should be good.
Just use a box wrench
Good video
