The engine is the m52b25. M50 engine series belong to the e30.

@@sergiofn01 325i E30 engine was M20B25 (2.5 12 Valve). 325i E36 engine is M50B25 (2.5 24V). M52B25 was the engine used in 323i E36 and 323i E46.

@@NMR11 Just put Schrick cams, port the head a little, and remap it as well as possible. It's a lot more enjoyable in 2.5L form
