Fascinating, Tory. Reminds me of the futuristic glory moments of jazz fusion in the spirit of Tribal Tech or Holdsworth, just to put a couple of names. Amazing and delightful. Can't stop enjoying. Thank you so much.
You're knowledge of music is astounding. To state the obvious. Really nice composition. And like....nailing the more advanced and difficult concepts of Holdsworth lol........anyway......it's rare to hear anyone even attempt that.....great music ...thx
No, thanks for listening and commenting! I have listened to so much music of a very wide variety over the years... I used to be an enormous 20th century classical nut, FYI. You know, Shostakovich Prokofiev Stravinsky Bartok, etc the list goes on and on including all of these obscure composers. Between that and all of the Jazz and jazz fusion... You kind of get an idea of where I'm at in terms of the musical headspace. I think the guitar is this sort of beast that we all have to continuously try to conquer, regardless of how good you actually are. Maybe a lot of the really great players try to let on like it's all effortless... I think that's a load of malarkey. LOL. Even if you get physically very good with the instrument there's still this mental disconnect that tries to derail you from time to time. Anyway, kind of went off on a tangent there... Thanks for the support!
@@TorySlusher I just discovered you tonight. I've been listening to all the same stuff for decades. It was nice to hear you playing Pools by Steps Ahead. And your originals are great! I was fortunate to see Allan Holdsworth 3 times with Chad Wackerman. Glad to hear you playing some beautiful chords with that sound.
@@Gregorypeckory i don't support any drug use and abuse, but when i took that 20+ years ago somehow it opened the fretboard for me ☺. Also it helped me to get of heroin. So I'm clean for 20 years, and it definitely helps with that mental blockade you were talking about, but its dangerous if it's abused or if people take to much , due to that i don't recommend it except if a medical doctor allows it. Dough nowadays in some European countries it is used as cure, and in Scandinavia a couple of lawyers and doctors are fighting for the permission that lsd is used for a treatment of addiction ( alcoholism, opioid addiction etc). In 70's they had research and they cured a sever alcoholic. You'll see in a future that one day they will use it to help out people and maybe they'll finally stop that terrible opioid pandemic in the US and the EU as well. Cheers and Jazz - shred on
So this GP 10 has some type of hexaphonic clean sound which I blend with the regular guitar, it's not really any type of a synth pad it's like a guitar clean and it has sort of a Eric Johnson or Holdsworth type Sheen to it
You out Holdsworthed ...Alan ! This iswhat Alan should have stayed into ..Tastey ...not so crazy celestrial meanderings ..Beautiful song ..Bad ass decending chords...Like to hear you do Fred..yea i know its a cover..but I like listening to your stuff its a power house of musical feeling!
Yeah, I just use the compression on board, and no I haven't really messed around with separating the string outputs, it's pretty easy to do even without using separate tracks you can actually just you know adjust it on the patch itself across the stereo spectrum.... I'm giving that most everybody these days is either watching UA-cam or social media on either a television or a phone I don't really know what the point is, I guess headphones maybe
Excellent! I can't quite see the name on the headstock, not that it's so important. Just don't recognize it. Also, I notice you've played a Squier. Is that all stock, or did you change out some parts? Thx! 🎸
Lol, that's because I scratched off the original and put on random words with sticker letters I found... I think it said either "Stuff" or "Fainder" here. "Fendere" or "Venter" would have been great choices too.... Just stock, aside from the GK3 of course...
Great tone, great playing, great composition.
Loved it! 👍
The tone is AMAZING on rhythm and lead
Really smart - good! Badass Allan-stretch!
Wow!
The chords are so beautiful and I am feeling those bends.
wow
just an another masterpiece..
your videos are art..
Thanks, I'm trying to basically give off an intimate concert type of feel I guess at the end of the day
Thanks! Amazing playing.
😊😊😊😊😊
One of the best shred-style leads ever.

Always surprises me! Great playing , tone…everything!

Pretty much nailed it
Besides your mastery of the electric guitar on every imaginable level, I love your wry sense of humor (and yes, those chords were badass 😆)
The chord at 4:26. My fingers tried to escape, damn! Awesome piece
Beautiful composition. Beautiful playing. Beautiful recording.
Yes...badass chords...
and loved the Allan H. channeling!
I remember the first time I ever heard Tokyo dream... I was just like, 😳
Ditto that... i am not worthy
Yes, those chords are badass! 🤘🎸🎶👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Kinda like a cross between Andy Summers (The Police) and Chris Poland (ex-Megadeth). Definitely got some promise this one.

@@TorySlusher lsd helps with mental b but i do't recommend it
@@sisajtegabreI definitely wouldn't recommend any more of it for you.

Mike Stern lives.
Yes he does. This isn't him, so what's your point? She plays a Tele? Brad Paisley lives too! 🤔😆
Brilliant composition 👏 absolutely wonderful. Really like the guitar sound on the head, what is it?

Hey Tory, are you using the GP-10 compression? and have you used the separate string outputs in a DAW?
Yeah, I just use the compression on board, and no I haven't really messed around with separating the string outputs, it's pretty easy to do even without using separate tracks you can actually just you know adjust it on the patch itself across the stereo spectrum.... @@TorySlusher I meant in a DAW, as you can process each string on a different track with different VST effects. Some of us do listen with good kit btw

Do you have a recording of your cover of Freedomville by the Yellowjackets??
I still have an audio recording, yes.... I should probably go back and relearn the tune though, do a video at some point...
