The legends are still alive through their grandsons voices, y’all sound amazing!!
I was thinking the same thing..
^^ This 1000%
Absolutely!!!
They ain't their grand daddys....cashing in on DNA.
@@newriverratsam , I think they sound better than their granddad's. I think it's awesome that they can carry on their Legacy.
With a tear in my eye. The Highwaymen kept their word, they are still around.
again and again and again
Yea
Yeah they didn't write any songs together but sang them good.
Yes they did
💯
It is freakish how much each grandson sounds like his grandfather. I like it.
That's a hell of an inheritance to receive!
Both young men are awesome singers!
I know first time I listened to Thomas Gabriel I got chills
I hereby second your motion!
And both look like them as well especially thomas you can see Johnny in the eyes cheeks and nose area
Thomas Gabriel sounds hauntingly like his grandfather. Love. This!
So sorry for the infringe on your privacy, Beautiful song. Hello
I gotta be honest with ya I hear it a lil bit but they have their own voices.
Both of them do meaning you do as well.
Are you deaf? They sound nothing alike
They sound better than their grandfathers.
I am just stunned at how much these boys sound like their Grandpas. I was a huge Waylon Jennings fan and loved Johnny Cash's music also. Thanks your dear boys for bringing back their legacy and sound. Absolutely amazing.
I am probably a very tough judge of old country music, because that is what I grew up on. I do not like new country, but let me tell you two, absolutely fabulous. Your granddaddy's I know are proud.
Hi there !
Yeah I also did as have tears rolling can't believe they are them in spirit
I agree. There’s nothing much in any genre of music that I like today. And, I’ll probably get criticized, but todays music is garbage.

I agree, I heard them too. Feels good as well.
I thought the same thing. Genetics at work.
Highway men kept their word they came back again...guys, I so appreciate you both. You singing brings a tear to my eyes, but it is not all about sadness. It became we have you two in our world

Considering the fact that they’re Johnny’s and Waylon’s grandsons, I would sure as hell hope so. 😉
These kids need to keep this music coming God knows we need it
That's the truth
Amen to that 🙏
Yes we do everyday
I'll give an Amen to that comment

You can definitely hear Waylon and Johnny in their voices! This could go somewhere if they wanted it to.
They'll go in the toilet 🚻
Without a doubt. They could have stellar careers all their own.
@@wayneaitcheson8775 What makes you say that?

I worry about Thomas Gabriel and what would happen if he went serious into the music. Before he released his first album in 2018 he had already been in rehab 22 times.
As a retired 21 year infantryman, this song gets me everyday
I can't believe how much they sound like their grandfathers country legends
They did their grandpas proud! I could hear Waylon and Johnny in their voices! Good job!
Nothing is better than a tribute
@@dannyaakjr6359 Wrong. They are both direct Grandsons of Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings.
Never heard either but knew instantly which voice was Waylon's grandson & Johnny's, amazing!! What a treat to hear this talent resurface several generations later! Will be listening for more of these guys!!
Thank you. Us has political prisoners. No trial. Jan 6th .
Tommy Gabriel sucks
Whey Jennings is very good

Touching to hear this sang by the grandsons of TRUE country legends. Outlaw music will never go away.
Outlaw music is dead.

I am so glad to see their spirit live on in generations. They are some rough-looking Real Americans..
Hank Jr. started out singing his father's songs and he sounded just like Sr. He really didn't go anywhere until he found his own voice and style, then he took off like a rocket. These guys have talent, let's hope they find their own way.
I heard Jr's newer stuff before I looked into him playing his dad's music. I thought, "there is no way he sounds like his dad."
Blown away. He sounded just like his dad. Same for hank iii. Loved his performance at the grand ol opre
@@JMPK23
I heard Hank Jr's father in his voice all through his career. After his earliest stuff it wasn't as prevalent but still there.
Its like these guys, you hear elements of their grandfather's voice. I suppose it is natural.
Hank III is the best of the Hanks imho

Had a shudder run through me with the voices.
Shades of grandparents to an eerie level!
WOW ! ! ! They both sound like their grandfathers and Whey even looks like his. Thank you to whoever posted this.. May GOD Bless everyone and America, in JESUS name
My goodness....their voices.....its like the ghosts of their grandfathers. That was eerily beautiful.
Hank III looks and sounds like Sr. Minnie Pearl once said to him upon meeting him, "Honey, you are a ghost" That's very surreal.
Gave me chills, dang they sound so much like their grandfather's voices. Love it!
Totally agree

Just need to add Lucas Nelson to the mix. Would be hard pressed to tell apart from original version.

I seen them live,,early 90s..the Palace of Auburn hills..great show
So what's your point?

Could these guys sing with Willie and Kris? I think it would be great.

HOLY CRAP 😱 You can hear their lineage in their voices. This brought a tear to my eyes, my grandmother raised me on a steady diet of the highwaymen and all their music. It took me back to those days of sitting on her lap while listening to her vinyl records
Nothing like the memories we make with music 🎶.. And those special ones we love

The one sounds like Cash quite a bit. Weird.
Two great icons of music continue through the gene pool. I can hear both their grandfathers voices. Incredible!!!!!
The thing that stood out to me the most was what I perceived as something genuine and humble in both of their voices and characters.
I dedicate this to my Dad who passed on Wednesday August 31 2022
Rest in Peace Pop
I can hear Waylon in Whey's voice. Oh my, I hear Johnny in Thomas as well. Great job!
I remember having the cassette tape. I played it so much that it wore out. This is how I got my husband into Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. He was already a fan of Kris Kristofferson. These two gents sound amazing. The song, Highwayman, is one of my all time favourites.
That is incredible and quite haunting to listen to... I'm a metal guy to the core but I grew up with their fathers playing around me throughout my childhood... I miss this kind of country music quite a lot because it takes me back home to a better time and place... I can hear Johnny & Waylon in these two to the point where it brings f*****g tears to my eyes... Absolutely awesome! Thank You for this!
I just love this song, maybe because my grandfather helped to build the Hoover Dam. He was a welder.I remember his stories about the men that fell into "the mud".

This is beautiful brought me to tears.
When he said “but I’m still alive” grandpa wrote it. Grandson singing I love it. BEAUTIFUL

Thomas Gabriel. For being a grandson. He can sing really good. Almost has his grandpa's voice too. Crazy how genetics run in the family

Wow! Hearing Whey's and Thomas's voices takes me back to their grandfathers. Willie's song 'Hero' immediately came to mind as I listened to them. The first time I heard 'Hero' was after Norm Macdonald died, then again, after Billy Joe Shaver died.
