Very interesting matchup. Classic Shotokan vs. a more heavy-handed brawler approach. Ericsson had the overhands going for him, Bouderbane was landing the dynamic blitz attacks.
I think Ericsson needs more aggression in the Pit. He seems to hold back too much,

Ericcson needs to work on his cardio and getting in better fighting shape. He was naturally stronger,had the heavier hands and stronger kicks but he allowed Bouderbane to win on effort and momentum
Ericsson was no way stronger, compare their physiques and you can tell why the other guy won. Ericsson didnt have the stamina and is not the quality fighter his ig post suggests

So I see. Bouderbane only uses punches in the 1st round and most of 2nd round. Then goes full-shotokan fast counter attacks on the 3rd. The axe kick to the chest was scary.
Very nice capacity of endurance,I hope that you take your minds in front of your eyes guys, see the free point and choose the right punch ,we want to see clear actions hitting the body without fear ,anyway keep going guys .🙋🙋🙋🙋🙋🙋🙋

I like Ericsson better, but I do not understand why someone who does not own a black belt in any Karate style is allowed to take place in a Karate competition.
He can’t in traditional karate competitions. Because you actually have to use karate techniques with names, no boxing punches for example. This is a modern karate competition, they allow punches, kicks, knee strikes, throws etc (general free techniques) as long as they follow the rules. So any other striking martial arts can compete too. But I think they only limit non-karatekas to 10%.

You know I really wish he would do some of them kicks. He's always showing on Instagram. It's like he's two different people. Why train those kicks if you're not going to be able to actually do them in real life?
Different because sandbags don’t dodge, chase you or punch/kick you back. Any black belt karatekas can do that too just to show off to their friends. But it’s not easy when your target keeps dancing around shotokan-style😂 I think Ericsson knew that so I don’t blame him.

Ericson seems putting some extra weight, potentially muscle loss and fat gain which would make him heavier and less testosterone for the fight. Every moments in life are lessons. I hope he had a valuable one through this match.

There were no significant strikes from both parts in first two rounds , but i feel ericsson tried to be more offensive, 3rd round he clearly lost , but I would still give it to Samuel , 2 -1.
Are they judging round by round? Because if they're judging the fight overall, that late blitz made a clear difference for me.

I think the last round overall was a big turning point, it was basically even first 2 rounds

Bouderbane is pretty bad at fighting. Atleast compared to the level of skill i am accustomed to in ufc and professional boxing. He is afraid of getting punched that he just runs away. He looks away at first contact. He swings for the fences. He makes lots of newby mistakes. What he has going for him is strength and power

I think Samuel is more skilled but lacked stamina. Bouderbane needs to work less on muscle and gain technique. He doesn't like to get hit for sure. Rarely should kicks be thrown above the waist first without setting them up. Again who gave him his black belt?? They need to stop dancing around and fight.
