  • In late February we visited the island of Fuvahmulah in the south-area of the Maldives. We experienced probably one of the best Tiger Shark diving in the world alongside the Bahamas. But not only Tiger Sharks call the area around the island their home. Silver Tip, Grey Reef, Thresher and Whale Sharks also show up in huge numbers. And also the coral reef, especially around the north corner of the island, looks extremely healthy compared to other parts of the Maldives.
    Camera: GoPro Hero 6
    Accessories: Red Dive Filter, Dive Housing waterproof to 60m
    Aerial shots: DJI Mavic 2 Pro
    Music: Alive - Julian Lindenmann & The Way (Instrumental) - Zack Hemsey

    Thanks for watching!

    Fantastic footage. Loved the closeup of the sharks! When you use the red filter, what color profile and white balance are you using with the gopro?

      Thanks! I used the flat color profile to have the most color correction options in post editing. The white balance I set to auto but you can also use a range of 4500K - 6000K depeding on the incoming light. Cheers!

      Hi there, thanks for the praise! I would recommend to visit the fuvahmulahdive.com website. There you can find accommodations, all about the local dive center and prices/packages. Best wishes, Jonathan

    Nice drone footage and well cut. Sometimes your underwater footage is a bit reddish. Amazing how close the Tiger Sharks are coming. I hope to see more videos from you.

      @@JonathanTschirch how was the experience with the dive shop may I ask? There were some bad reviews

    • @JonathanTschirch
      @JonathanTschirch  2 роки тому

      @@khkohh For us it was okay. The guides were good and very friendly. I only noticed some small issues with rental equipment from other guests and the prices (for dives, equipment etc.) are a little bit over the top. Could be worse, we would come back.

      @@JonathanTschirch How was the organization from the dive shop and which accomodation did you stay at may I ask?

    • @JonathanTschirch
      @JonathanTschirch  2 роки тому

      @@khkohh The organization was fine, just like any other dive centre I would say. We stayed in the Veyli Residence but I would not recommend it. Take a look at the listet accommodations at the Fuvahmulah Dive website. These are pretty much all they have on the island and you can choose from all price segments.

      Angefütterte Scheisse für Sensations Taucher...😥

      @@jochensommer308 Wenn es irgendwie dabei hilft die Tiere vor der kompletten Ausrottung zu bewahren, unterstütze ich auch eine Anfütterung. Auch wenn Du natürlich mit Deiner Kritik nicht unrecht hast. Man sieht dort auch unangefütterte Tiere bei den normalen Tauchgängen. Für mich waren diese auch das Highlight. Dort hatten wir nämlich den Walhai und tolle andere Begegnungen.

      Die "normalen " Tauchgänge verurteile ich auch nicht, im Gegenteil: exponierter Aussenposten im tiefen Süden mit diversen Putzerstationen, anderes Malediventauchen halt mit vielen Pelagen!
      Nur werden die Basen auf Fuvah immer mehr und es ist in meinen Augen nur ne Frage der Zeit, wann der erste Unfall am Tiger Zoo passiert...
      Beste Grüße, Jochen

      @@jochensommer308 Ja das hab ich mich auch gefragt, wann da der erste Unfall passiert. Ist schon ziemlich heftig. Hier im Video ja noch voll ok aber da sieht man anderes.

      Ja, es gab schon ein paar "Beinahe" Unfälle, ähnlich Bequa Lagoon/Fidschi, in meinen Augen nur ne Frage der Zeit wann was "echtes" passiert!
      Offiziell ist angeblich das Anfüttern mittlerweile verboten...
