    There's a lot of Warrior influence in this glove.
    From the removeable palm, how the back hand opens, connection points to the hand (minus wrist strap), to even the more mechanical styled closure compared to a typical goalie glove.
    Glad to see someone expanding what Pete Smith has been working on.

    • @BonesyTV
      @BonesyTV  Рік тому +3

      I agree! Pete Smith and warrior has always been ahead of their time and it’s cool to see things like this breaking the mold

    I'm 57 and still rock 90s gear. Too old to change... play ball hockey too and another guy showed up with the ReasonY catcher and let me try it and I couldn't get it off my hand fast enough. But, you know, I'm old...:) Nice colour way, though!

      Hahaha I don’t blame you. This is quite the departure from every other glove out there. What did you think about how easy it was to close? I feel like even though this is so wildly different from every other glove ever made it’s SUPER easy to close

    What is the circumference? At first glance it looks to big for Swedish rules.

    • @BonesyTV
      @BonesyTV  Рік тому

      I’ll have to check the actual circumstance at some point. Definitely should have talked about the size and how it meets certain league requirements. Are Swedish rules different from NHL?

    • @coldstiil
      @coldstiil Рік тому

      @@BonesyTV Quoted from IIHF rules: A maximum perimeter of 114.5 cm (45") is permitted. The perimeter of the glove is the distance around the glove (see measurement procedures below). / The distance from the heel of the glove along the pocket and following the contour of the inside of the trap of the glove to the top of the “T” trap must not exceed 46 cm (18''). The heel is considered to be the point at which the straight vertical line from the cuff meets the glove (see diagram at left).

      @@BonesyTV Yes there are some small differences in measurments guidlines between NHL and SHL.

    Nice review. Quality of the leather and the actual materials and construction don't look that great....kind of on the cheap side, but if it's a prototype I can understand it will get better. The giant brick hanging from the back of the glove looks ridiculous.

    One question i have is: is it nhl legal? Dont they have restrictions on oberall size, and if it is, why hasnt anyone else started omcreasing pocket size?

    • @BonesyTV
      @BonesyTV  11 місяців тому +2

      YUP! It's NHL legal. I need to make a short video showing the size and how it fits the legal requirements. To get the big pocket you need to compensate in other areas and it looks like other brands aren't willing to shrink the cuff for a larger pocket

    Did this ever make it into production? They ought to call it the Pelican, it's f'n HUGE pocket, lol that can't be NHL legal, can it? Call me crazy, I think it's beautiful. Only thing I'd change is the pocket string. Gotta have laces baby, not a fan of that paracord look. Great vid, I'm here because I saw the goalie glove guy fix your old glove. He's an artist with that lacing. Stay safe out there brother.

      @@BonesyTV Hey Bonsey. Oh for sure, I kinda just figured, like myself, when my gear gets old and abused, I get new stuff. Though I AM a forward, so I guess I didn't think about the goalie stuff and it's replacement cost. Him rebuilding that glove you had from the ground up with new plastic inserts and everything was rather impressive.
      Funny side note, last time I got new shinpads, they were SO much lighter than my old ones, I was shocked. Also, I'm pretty sure they're, like, bulletproof, too. I've blocked shots with those things that would make Patrick Roy raise an eyebrow. Never felt a thing. It's incredible.
      I have a quick question for ya, seein' as your a goaler and all, how do you feel about the velcro straps vs the old school buckles on the leg pads? The first time I saw "not buckles" was, gosh 20 years ago in major juniors, our goalie's new pads had those plastic clip-in "quick release" style buckles. (I don't know what they're called, I'm sure you remember those though. Those style clips are popular with the military these days, I've noticed.) Now with the velcro, ugh... I mean, I don't wear it, so I don't have an opinion on how it feels, but I know the old school leather strap with the metal buckle is my favorite look. And the big ol' look sticking out. (I imagine velcro is easier in every way imaginable, but still, nostalgia and all...)
      Heck, maybe you could do a vid on it, if you got the time and all. (Or maybe you did and I missed it?) I always dig hearing what other players like, especially 'cause I'm NOT a goalie. Another side note, I got mad respect for anyone standing in the pipes.
      I enjoy your channel. Good stuff bro, and whatever level you're in, good luck to ya!

    I’m still a fan of all the old goalie gear all the new stuff is way to thin. And the keeper is up to get hurt more so with all that thin krap. I’ve played hockey not pro but been playing I’ve even spoke back in the day to Easton. I know equipment things. But like the light player skates they do not last like the older ones. I’m still rocking graf 703 skates yes I play hard .it they last since they are thicker and qaulity is there. Todays hockey equipment is made to rip or wear out faster.

      Funny. I feel like all the new stuff is much more overkill protective. I had to remove protection from any blocker I could buy to get enough dexterity. All the knee pads now that we didn't even have in the 2000s. Chestys are wayyy thicker than I ever had. This glove is a breath of fresh air.
