SK SELAMA CHORAL SPEAKING 2012-STOP CHILD ABUSE

SK Selama Choral Speaking Team presented , "Stop Child Abuse" during the Selama English Language Carnival on 7 April, 2012. It then represented Selama Zone at the Larut Matang & Selama District Level Choral Speaking for Primary Schools Competition and judged the 2nd Prize Winner just after SK Convent Kota which presented, A Gift of Life. A strong message was sent across to stop child abuse which include all forms of sexual crimes against children such as child prostitution, phonography, rapes, sodomy, incests, human trade, cheap child labour and also child marriages. Children have rights and need to be respected. They should be educated, nurtured with love and kindness, moulded into useful adults and citizens, lead a healthy life and treated for illnesses. The stress and urge is for us to do something to stop child abuse. Congratulations to all the 35 participants who have trained hard . It is the joy of learning English through Choral Speaking that is important. The experience will leave a good impact in their lives. At least they are aware of child abuse and hopefully will be able to protect themselves from any harm. Madam Oon Lay Wah will always remember all the Choral Speaking competitions the school had participated in and she had been involved in together with Madam Cheang Poh Lin. Sweet memories.
