You can say a lotta things about Denny but I've learned so much Nascar 101 from listening to AD. His discussion of the pavement problems with these NextGen cars really opened my eyes.
@@stellingbanjodude You realize that the most unpopular athlete/ team in any sport still has hundreds of thousands of fans right? I’d argue that Denny has made more fans in the last 2 years compared to many years before.
As someone who's gone to Texas for decades now, those fence lights that were facing towards the fans that Denny talked about are gone. That or they're there and they don't use them. They also used to have caution lights in the actual surface against the wall for a few years. Have no idea why the fence lights are gone.
Never been a fan, but after yesterday's race, I f**k with Denny Hamlin!!! Ballsy move going for the W!!! Too bad it didn't stick!!! I'm pulling for him to get that 1st championship this year for Big Denny!!!
I’m the biggest #9 fan ever. Trust me. But I gotta say Denny. I’m starting to like you more and more. Your show is super educational. And you admitted to being wrong lol. I hope you win a title. I don’t want you to end up like Mark Martin. A super elite talent that doesn’t get the credit he deserves. But to win you have to take chances. 2nd place is fine in the regular season but come playoff time it’s 1st or last.
I think many people regard Mark Martin as one of the greats still, despite no title. He won so many races, beating the best and frankly, the title of being a “champion” has never been the same, since the Chase format came in, in 2004 and I think it was further tarnished with this playoff format. Just my two cents. I think of Denny as one of the greatest drivers over the last twenty years.
Plus the side wall of the tire is a lot smaller now.. not allowing the tire to spring that let's you hang the back of the car out.. on the subject of Jimmie
It's true, I was right there at turn 4 and was probably the only one not cheering when you span. Tough day but it was awesome to see you drive in person!

Dale junior spoke up!!! Publicly about the tire!! Along with the rest of you. At least its moving in the right direction. Although i feel h.p. is a big factor as well
On the topic of the caution lights, I remember when they used to have every emergency/work vehicles flip their lights on as well. I noticed a stretch where they stopped even doing that, thought at Richmond this spring, some did turn their lights on as well.

Chastain did the same thing and accidentally got into Denny one time racing hard. Denny threw a temper tantrum the whole race hounding Ross. Then a few races later Denny wrecked Ross to get the win and caused a whole bunch of cars to be wrecked.
@mossman381 It wasn't just that race. It was a series of races leading to that where Chastain has been costing Hamlin... Chastain definitely needed a payback. With that said, I still think my favorite driver Denny still came off worse.

Great insight as always. I liked Denny's answer to the question about tires. I think the teams should be able to choose what compound works for them like F1.
Excellent commitment to getting the win rather than just points. Joy of hindsight. But if anyone in Hendricks needs to be concerned, surely it should be the 48 not the 9. When was the last time ABowman was at the front of a race? Very informative and enjoyable podcast as usual.
Yeah I don't know what they were doing running parade laps NASCAR you're idiotic you can ruin a good show and you have every race is a s*** show with you😢
Love the info on the Goodyear tires. 250,000 a car on unused tires. Crazy. They should be on consignment. Only pay when used. NASCAR really wants to save teams money and they let this happen. Crazy. Be better Nascar. Good job Denny. Love this show.
If you want to change Texas, make it a smaller Fontana; flatter D-shaped oval that is still high speed. Make the pavement abrasive; don’t use the stuff from Michigan that is nuke-proof. Don’t put chemicals on it. Put the slightest bit of progressive banking in to make it multi-groove. Sweeping front straight away is safer than the three-section dogleg we have now and would still be OK for the grandstand configuration. No external infrastructure change needed. I’ve put way too much thought into this; but honestly this is the kind of thing that could be modeled and iterated on iracing or other sims and I’d be very interested to see the results.
Not to rain on your parade but you’re describing what original Las Vegas and Kansas were. They were decent but not great. Plus if you do that then you have to wait another 3-5 years for the track surface to age in order to have an apron to wall racing groove. If you’re going to stay with the current walls it’s almost better to do a Homestead style banking. It’s more progressive and it’ll wear in faster.
Texas shape is fine look at the car speeds not only NASCAR but also F1. People enjoy Fast Racing speed is King. I agree with the abrasive comment tho 100%. Tire wear is needed.
The whole loose tire thing happening to multiple teams is frustrating. I still don't get why the teams cannot have their own tire guns? I hear the whole "cost" thing, but then I call BS on the penalties for air guns provided by NASCAR. If the teams had their own tire changing setup, then I'm all in for the penalties being severe.

I’m not trying to be a smart ass or anything, but you hear the announcers Larry MackKevin Harvick now Clint Boyer Darrell Tripp in the past year all these guys talk about the arrow push
Truly educational to get into a driver's mind. Gained a lot of respect for Danny in the past couple of weeks after having had a totally wrong perception of him for a long time! Seems like Goodyear needs to learn a lesson about SUSTAINABILITY...
Im an Elliot fan but with 12 or 13 to go it disnt restart untill 3 to 4 to go.wtf? Long cautions is b.s.
i love Denny but he knows the bump was there it dont matter what the temp of the track was he found out is it its like doing the same thing knowing it could happen js
denny dennyed himself
its funnny hes saying just keep it straight, when Richmond fell to him because of the exact same type of caution. his own driver caused that, but of course its fine in that case lmao otherwise just pull over guys
Maybe aged tires are the key to this new car 🤷🏼♂️
Can they please stop with spraying the tracks with anything ?
Just to see you moan more, i hope they spray the whole damn track!! I dont like your tone
Denny ask me, I would’ve made that 2 grand no problem
