No doubt Fruition should be on Tiny Desk. I loved the song - the groove and feel of the folk music of the 1950's and early 1960's: Dave Van Ronk, Bob Dylan, Woodie Guthrie, and many others. Folk music is a music made for the common man. With all the crap Pop music which is so pervasive these days, it is so refreshing to see a group of young folks singing and playing music with depth and soul. I've been a musician for 45 years and this music takes me right back to my beginnings playing guitar and singing. You guys are really good and as Mr. Nelson said in his comment: "Ear Candy" plus so much more. Keep on keepin' on!!
Heard this song for the first time at Mohawk festival. Brought tears to my eyes then and still gives me goosebumps. You are all so very talented. Keep the good tunes coming. :)
I love this band and this song. They have such a perfect mix of instrumental talent, vocal talent and harmony, and song writing. Fruition, thank you for creating this song and for being around. Words can't describe how much joy and love you bring to my life.
Didn't see the lyrics anywhere. Here ya go The big blue sky was watching us And the breeze was listening to us tell our tale The sun stayed up just long enough to make it clear Just what we are doing here I was born to love you I will die and go back to stardust All I know about being alive is that life's for the living I ain't seeking salvation Not too worried about damnation I got little expectation, and as such I ain't easily let down All I really wanna do is be close to you while we're still both around. The big blue sky was watching us And the breeze was listening to us tell our tale The sun stayed up just long enough to make it clear Just what we are doing here I was born to love you I will die and go back to stardust All I know about being alive is that life's for the living I ain't seeking salvation Not too worried about damnation I got little expectation, and as such I ain't easily let down All I really wanna do is be close to you while we're still both around while we're still both around
My new favorite love song! Love on many different levels. I heard them on Spotify for the first time today, now, I can’t get enough. What a great band!
This is amazing..This and falling on my face are my two favorites, although, every song is amazing! Hope you guys don't mind if I add a solo acoustic cover of this into my repertoire! Fellow Lewiston fellow..
They have to compete for an NPR tiny desk concert? But they are so awesome! They are way more practiced, write amazing songs, and have much better chops than most of the tiny desk concerts I've seen. They are my favorite band!
Well I forgot to put an entry in. but you know what... If I had a vote to cast in this contest I would vote Fruition. Miss seeing ya'll around. come play music in the desert some day!
