After decades in a barn, this 1928 John Deere D needs help! Join me as I find some challenges along the way during the repair and refinish of this old workhorse!
I'm almost 80 years old and I grew up next to farm did a lot of work on farms as a kid and I never saw or worked on any of these old John Deere's like this beauty. The oldest I saw was an old Harte-Par the farmer used once a year to haul gravel from the creek to the lane going back to the back of the farm. I got to tell you it must be an absolute joy to work on that beauty! Watching it and listening to a run. Wow!!
Great video but if I could make a suggestion? Maybe have the music in the background and then I'd love to hear you talk about everything about the tractors that you work on.
Hi Jon, thanks for the comment. We're trying a new editing program and just realized we lost all of the voice over on the pictures. We'll get it fixed and repost it.
The rocker arms are original. They were bead blasted and the wear surfaces reground. The sides of the rockers were machined to remove wear and spacers made to maintain clearance. Rocker shaft is new machined out of stressproof shaft. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
Very nice. I like your method of putting on the decals. Beautiful Tractor.!
You really do great work obviously a labor of love.
