Right on Emily! It's so awesome having your channel to go to between seasons of BSG! Congratulations on that bad ass air compression system and those sluice box upgrades! You guys are going to crush it next season! 👌🏼👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏼💖
As someone who did SCUBA training, but never got open-water certified, I will never forget the feeling of going for a breath and your tank was "empty." In our case, it was our instructor shutting our air off, but it was still terrifying! Having a reliable source of air is way more important than people may think, and I am glad to see you got that taken care of.
All equipment fails, but it's definitely a breath of fresh air (pun intended) to make such a step-up in equipment quality. It really helped production last season!

Really look forward to see you all kill it this year. Everything is really coming along nicely. I’d maybe reconsider making those cams holding the expanded metal from plate steel rather than wood once you prove the concept. Having to beat on it over and over to clean the sluice will eventually beat them to pcs. And the water wood mix. It’ll expand once wet and could be an issue removing them after a couple weeks of dredging.
Great idea! We went through quite a few of the wood ones last season. Don't do many non-essential projects mid-season, but we'll probably upgrade them this spring

I'm so excited for Eroica. Eccentric: not placed centrally or not having its axis or other part placed centrally.

@@TheEmilyRiedel There's 40 episodes?! Brilliant! I was telling my husband and boys all about what you do! My husband is a groundworker so is well acquainted with dirt, machinery and getting down in holes! They know I have a complete fascination with Alaska. So it's so cool to see your videos every week!
That's so great to hear! You got to get the family up here some time! And yes there are 40-ish haha don't know the final number for sure, but they're definitely being released every Saturday for the foreseeable future
@TheEmilyRiedel 40 ish is good enough for me! You work so hard, I dont know how you do it all! My Uncle teaches fishing and has published a couple of books, but he went to Alaska on a fishing trip a few years ago, I was so jealous! I quizzed him if he saw any Sasquatch when he got back!😆 Unfortunately he didn't. I lost my Dad in 2020 and then my Mum in 2022, which was devastating, but also they left me to clear the house and garden and multiple sheds as they were antique collectors and hoarders, I had to give up my job to do that full time. I'm just about done and almost ready to sell the house, which is so sad, as its my childhood home, and it's a beautiful Victorian house. But I my parents wanted me to do that and then I can give our boys everything they need, maybe a trip to Alaska would be awesome! Im Sorry, I don't know why I've just blurted all that out to you! ♥️
The idea of the cams to hold the mesh in appears great to me, I would think much more user friendly than the wood wedges seen on the gold rush sluice boxes.
When the day comes to launch and dredge, just remember that sometimes running ALL DAY long at 80-85% capacity is better than running just a few hours at 100% and breaking down all the time. I had to make this point to many bosses over the years when asked why I was not running a rock crushing, concrete or asphalt production plant at full speed. Take your time, measure twice, cut once! glty all!
If you can catch the flour gold you could increase your totals by 25%! After all, nome is known for the flour beach gold. Every piece that has moved much give away small gold particals everytime!
Here is an idea to help with the frozen regulator issue and it may also help with diver durability. Put a simple heat exchanger on the air supply pipe. You have the warm water feed for the suite coming from the dredge top side so feed that hot water through a larger pipe through which the air supply pipe runs and seal it. This will mean that the regulator is fed air which is warmer and that should prevent the ice condition. In addition, the diver will be getting warmer air to breathe which will greatly reduce the stress that the divers body feels. The reduction of temperature of the water actually entering the dive suite should not be lowered all that much and if it is, increase the supply temperature coming from the dredge by putting in a heat exchanger up there. On the dredge there are a number of petrol or diesel motors all cranking out heat so why not use that heat in some way instead of simply dumping it back into the sea. This could be a game changer because a warmer diver is a more productive diver, a more alert diver and therefor a better diver. How many divers have you seen that are good at getting on the gold BUT their bodies and minds simply cannot handle the severe and mind sapping cold for a full shift? Divers LOOSE BODY HEAT through the air that they breathe so allow them to GAIN HEAT through their lungs to help replace the heat they are loosing through their bodies. You are already pumping warm water down to them, USE IT BETTER is all. And if the idea works, build yourself a skid sluice platform with all the gear on it (borrowed from the dredge at the start of winter) and go out on the ice during winter - an extra 4 months or so of income. Which means the ability to finance a spare compressor and whatever which can be used on either the dredge OR the ice sled. Imagine dredging for gold in the warm Caribbean sea...
We kind of do that in a janky way using the hot water line near the diver and some pipe insulation and tape. Ice mining is a whole can of warms with a lot more considerations than just getting enough hot water. It's a lifestyle choice!
Argh these videos are too short!! Personally I would have drilled, tapped and plugged the bleeder hole but I’m also not against ghetto fixes if it gets me back to working quicker! I don’t know if I like the wooden cams, I think they will be prone to swelling and splitting. I probably would have bought a bunch of kitchen boards and used HDPE or maybe just welded some tabs to the side and used some wedges. But maybe I’m wrong. It must be getting exciting there now, close to running dirt! Can’t wait for that, the upgraded riffles should make a huge difference!
That would've been an option too! The plywood cams definitely needed to be replaced a couple times - we're going to look into upgrading those this season. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! We'll be on the gold next Saturday!

And I have been watching Bering Sea Gold since the series started. Shawn (Mr Gold) should have done the same as you ! Following …I won't miss any of your episodes.
Thanks so much! We're a bit of a different group I don't think a lot of other guys are likely to pick up a camera and do something like this - but it would be fun to watch!
Emily you are doing a fine job updating your dredge! I was a diesel mechanic my whole life for a cat dealership..
I love you Emily for trying to prospect for gold ❤
Hey 👋 Emmy 👋
I'm so excited for you and your new dredge.
I'll follow the dream with you 💖
Congratulations on a succesfull launch..I realize there is a " time delay " but Good Luck, I hope you had a good season.
All in for sure these upgrades are awesome 😎
I’m absolutely hooked.. oh wait been hooked for 32 years ✨gold fever✨
New compressor is slick !
Amazing! So excited for this! ❤
Thank you Stephanie!
Your Lincoln ad is the best ad ever
Hell yeah! Props from Euclid, Ohio.
The Eroica II looks awesome!
Thanks Jim!
This is awesome! And we dont have to watch the kellys!
Hope you guys kill it this season!!!! Some day I would just love to pan the beaches!!! Take care please!!!!
The idea of the cams to hold the mesh in appears great to me, I would think much more user friendly than the wood wedges seen on the gold rush sluice boxes.
Less hardware's always a win! Great idea from Dan and David
Good job folks keep at it!
ill say it again, those prince xl spool guns make welding aluminum like Childs play.
Keep the episodes coming Emily
Dan is an asset to your team Emily 👌
He's the best
I love it Emily. It's money invested to make money. As you get closer I can feel the excitement from your crew. And husband. This is fun. ❤❤❤
Hope you kill it in this season Emily! My regards and big fan supporter from texas!!❤
I'm looking forward to more!
Awesome! New episodes every Saturday!
Stay warm!
Now that's a sluice box!
Take your time, measure twice, cut once!
glty all!
Preach! Thanks so much for watching!
looking forward to seeing future videos of your new season.
Loved it....keep em coming
Thanks Donnie! Will do - every Saturday!
Can’t wait to see your new setup getting that shiny ❤
We'll be on the gold next episode - coming out Saturday!
If you can catch the flour gold you could increase your totals by 25%! After all, nome is known for the flour beach gold. Every piece that has moved much give away small gold particals everytime!
Waiting for the next one!
Awesome! Every Saturday!
Nice job 👏
Thank you for the update
Great content without the Discovery drama! 👍
Love this series 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 thanks EM
LOL that's the Cat Stevens philosophy! (Shows my age LOL!)
Another great episode Keep ‘em coming! 👍🏻
Thank you!
OMG, I could finally spot the gold on the sea floor!
Any possibilty of adding an emergency tiller rudder to one hull, if outboard steering lost, thrust + tiller gets you home?
Or add a 10 or 15 hp kicker with handle, that becomes steerable emergency power?
I guess I know what I’m going to be doing for the next 36 Saturdays.
Hello enjoy your program s I've watch all on TV and these . PS congratulations on the birth of your son.Great adventure s ps.How is your Dad doing 🤔
@@TheEmilyRiedel Cannot wait! I hope all the upgrades were worth it! I think the upgrades to the suction hose will make a massive difference.
Keep em coming.
HEAVY PANS crew
Watching the new season starting from the beginning. Supporting ya from the pacific NW, cheers
Whens the next chance to get a lease on the water? How much gold you think is left out in the water?
Hot dang I never realized you could use a party barge to find gold😂😊😮
You sure can!
Happy new year thanks for the hard work 😊
Tkzz for sharing.,.,peace
