As the Traveler said to Paimon, “this is no disaster, this is war.” Act IV really makes you feel immersed in the story, you’re not just a traveler helping the locals, you’re fighting side by side with people defending their homeland from destruction, and they’re willing to lay down their lives for you just as you would for them.
@@freshaccount4709the rescue mission with that map system was well done. It really gives you that sense of uegwncy with part of the map being polluted with abyssal power.
@@rakhaanantabaskoro4461 "Hahaha! I FEEL LIKE I CAN WASH A THOUSAND DISHES! CMON LADS, DEATH IS OFF THE TABLE CLEEEAAAAN!" (Edit: In case anyone don't catch it, this is a rephrase of a quote from the Natlan Archon Quest)
Getting to the scene and seeing a mother and her daughter cowering under a wooden platform, only saved & hidden from the attacking monsters by the corpse of the man who died to protect them. And, to add onto that, that man (and all the other corpses around) was part of a faction I was enemies with. 5.1's Archon Quest did an amazing job.
Let me tell you a worse thing. The mother and daughter only survived in some players world. If you chose other paths, they will be dead as well. Each player had a different death number, most around 2k, but some with 3 or 4k. Our actions made the whole war different
@@pontoancora I...I'm "guilty" for letting that happen. But I've choose to clear the southern path first to make route from People of Springs territory to the Stadium easier. Foolish me, Abyss laughed straight in my face a few moments later. Final death count was 1938.
I saw in a playthrough that a few of the characters you save in an earlier mission end up dying later when finding those tumors (they wanted to send supplies to Ppl/Springs tribe 😔 I'm curious if telling them not to go would change things or not
I remember how my mindset went from optimistic and having fun with the war mode to slowly realizing how serious things were, then the abyss appeared and seeing the fallen Fatui squad and how they protected that mother and child, then Paimon mentioning the Saurian corpse, I really had to let go of the KB&M and take a minute, what a fucking fantastic experience this was, not glorifying war but showing a mere glimpse of how awful it is. FOR NATLAN!
Ngl, when Paimon started crying over the dead Fatui/Saurians, I got emotional too. Yes, Paimon can be irritating sometimes, borderline annoying, but deep inside she's still a sweet and precious companion that accompanied us all through all the hardships and trials and tribulations. She cares, innocent and child-like. Seeing her emotional made we want to hug her and to reassure that everything will be alright.
@@The_original_one well, we will leave her alone in the next Act, as we will go to night kingdom with mavuika and ensure paimon's safety by leaving her behind
There is no illusion of choice during the Archon Quest warmap... There are Natlanese, Fatui and Saurian bound to die... I don't usually bring out my Spiral Abyss team but seeing the map littered with bodies, anti-Abyss Squad it is...
I was switching characters according to buffs but this also raised immersion. Gorou, as Watatsumi's rebellion leader, Sara as Narukami's general, Chevreuse as Special Patrol's Captain with rifle, Kaeya and Fischl as characters I brought with me to civil war in Inazuma... basically felt like in some military squad management simulator. I think I've used 9-10 different ones in total.
i usually use my friendship team for Archon Quest (team I usually bring to max out character friendship) since fontaine 4.2 quest but in this quest I'm using my Imaginarium theater and abyss team (Dendro Lumine, Furina, Bennet, Raiden) to keep the causalities minimum.... and yet the dead in my acc still reached 3000+
2:08 When the vocals come in, it's not a grand chorus or overwhelming chant. It's barely a single whisper, a fading ember. Alone at first but subsequently joined with other low voices, together they struggle to match the oppressive tension in the melody. When we reach the drop, that dying flame has transformed into a surging wildfire, rushing across the countryside. The voices have come together as Natlan's national anthem. The victors shall burn bright while the losers must turn to ash; and we are absolutely incandescent.
Those vocals gave me the feeling that our flames of courage have reached a fever pitch, we have become an inferno of bravery and heroically mowing down a threat who dared try to mock us.
You can tell in this scene there's something more powerful than just the divine throne or the Pyro Archon. The history and legacies, memories and ancient names collected over the years are what really drives this movement. You don't see power in her eyes, you see something much more unique and stronger; you can see hope.
The whole song is just a remix of the ode of resurrection, but this section specifically uses the lyrics "For our family, homeland and nation (for glory); For our ideals, dreams and future (for hope)" and even repeats it twice!
I was going into this mode with "oh this could be fun", doing some tasks here and there and helping everyone. I saw the loses but ignored it at first and just played without any deeper thought of it. After the Abyss eye thing appeared in the sky, everything changed. More and more corpses started showing up, I was often too late to save anyone. I felt sadder and sadder, tears started going down my face, and I got angrier and angrier towards the Abyss. I even pulled out my strongest team and smashed my keyboard and mouse buttons as if it would do something. Then, seeing the Scions of Canopy completely abandoned and abyss monsters roaming around, I broke down in tears. I was so glad to at least save a few people at the Children of Echoes, only to then hear that the Flower-Feather Clan was getting hit very badly. I was scared what would happen, and then seeing Chuychu die after I hoped I got there in time really made me feel useless. I was so relieved seeing the last Hero appear afterward and then at the Stadium when all the heroes of the past and present gathered to finally beat back the Abyss. And then this awesome track started to play, and I let out all my anger, destroying the Abyss monsters and tumors. Finally, Mavuika punched that godforsaken eye out of the sky! Really, made my day. Act IV really was one of the best gaming experience I have had, if not the best. I'm so glad that you uploaded this OST and that I don't have to wait 3 or 4 months for it, so thank you very much!
This!! Chuychu death hit me the hardest! I'm sobbing so much while fighting abyss in the final war My team was Natlan Heroes (Mualani,Xilonen,Kinich+extra) so i have max experience to protect their region!! FOR NATLAN!!
This is me as well I feel you, I felt like I never saved enough and was hesitated on pucking which to choose only to realize you can only save what you can for allotwd time. It broke me down when Paimon broke down but tried to stay strong
man i could relate...it was a quest that built my anxiety and after that abyss eye thing appearing, i chose to go save the the saurian group, and anxiety start to peak at that point, started to tear up when i reached the camp after after seeing bodies of both saurian and ppl, then as i reached the fatui group i started crying as no one survived not even the child that was there which i learnt about after. The Chuychu scene had stopping the game for a few minutes cuz at that time i was bawling. tears was still flowing even into the final battle, gotta say i was so immersed into this story it felt like i was there, trying my best to help ppl survive. i still have no idea how the final count for me was 1.4k
since everyone is sharing their personal experience, i'm going to share mine too. i rushed every single expedition i could because the situation was already dire at 120 deaths, and when things got even more serious i just forgot my battle line and started spamming all my bursts and skills to get rid of the abyss quickly and avoid as many deaths as possible. then, after mavuika activated ronova's power i just took it all out in revenge
Right? I usual don't use my ults unless I see it as necessary or if the domain is by time, but this mission made me just come, jump, and spam as much Nahida-Furina-Keqing as possible to kill as fast without dying and avoid as many deaths as possible; and still, they made us felt how desperate the situation was with how we could just kill anything in seconds, and the deads count would still keep rising higher and higher....
I finished with around 2k deaths. I originally thought 100 was a lot, and then seeing the death count rising higher and higher shook me. I felt like I was truly in Teyvat, fighting a losing battle. I remember I had Raiden equipped for most of it, and stepping off the balloon into a lifeless field of bodies made me think “Oh… what’s the point?” Even hearing Paimon getting all shaky scared the heck out of me. I passed the Scions of the Canopy base while it was all purple and thought “That’s where I used to walk through whenever I wanted a music vibe.” I didn’t even recognize half of the map until I lingered on it; it was so transformed by the Abyss. I imagine the Traveler was thinking along the lines of sibling Prince/Princess revenge the whole time. And then the altar at the end… tears. I haven’t stepped into Natlan since, because I don’t want to see all the missing NPCs. I’ve just been spending my time in Mondstadt, awakening some nostalgia.
Why is no one talking about my GOAT Toronto the long necked rhino? Bro stayed behind *by himself* to fight off the abyss AND lived to tell the tale! I swear the moment I saw him lying next to that Abyss tumor my heart almost dropped.
@@briannguyen6248 Never met, as in, during the war, or in general? Because if it's the latter and you did Act IV, then you're a liar because he appeared in Act I. If it's during the war, at the start, you have a first choice with one possibility being to go help the Saurians, it'sbetween the stadium and the children of echoes. The game makes you go to that place at some point, it's obligatory. After clearing the place, before going to the next location, you can find someone taking care of Toto who has fallen down, but still lives.
This quest will remain one of my favourites for a LONG time. I don't remember the last time I felt such emotion playing a game (granted I don't play a wide variety of them), but man my heart was racing and I had a big ass smile across my face that I couldn't wipe off for a long while after it was done...
@@CristianmrWuno if we're including world quests, I still like the fight against the abyss at Tunnig hollow and vorukasha oasis more, the music there is otherworldly, but this is great too and has more production value
I'll share my thoughts too. At first riding in the hot air balloon I thought cool I have to fight alongside them. Even encouraged an NPC to think about surviving. I saw the death toll and got baffled. And then it got worse. I was crying when Paimon was shocked to the lying Natlanese and Fatui bodies everywhere, but I was relieved when the mother and her child still survived. Then I passed by the Scions of Canopy. Then I saw a scared young Yumkasaurian hiding above the tower. And then it hit me so hard. If I could've just gone faster, I could've saved more lives. But then the game doesn't let me. And the toll rose to thousands. I was getting mad and frustrated that I cannot save them. Those are not mere numbers, they have families and friends waiting for them to come home. Yes, it's just a game, but thinking this happens real life is frustrating.
if they went this hard for natlan... i got chills just imagining khaenriah and celestia. hopefully they haven't outdone themselves and it just goes downhill from here lmao. imagine how anticlimactic it'd be if natlan was the most epic part of the game

FOR NATLAN!!!!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST ARCHON QUEST Personally, starting from sumeru is when the quests really started getting more and more emotional The brave arama who sacrificed against the abyss…. Nahida hugging rukkhedevata while she died…. Focalors sacrificing herself…. Silver and melus giving their all…. Chuychu dying…. Everyone else suffered, 2k dead because the first two investigations i felt lazy.. I feel like genshin got dark after liyue. The summer events were dark too
Umm i wanna ask. Is it have a possibility when some talkable npc still alive in one account and unalived in another account?@@catgirllover666rockstargodmonk
yeah from Sumeru they started making the acts longer and impactful. and characters were also interacting with each other and not mainly with just us, so it felt more immersive.
I like how this section of the natlan archon quest immersed me into fighting alongside with natlanese and saurians and i refused to take break as the abyss taking over natlan quickly. Seeing the disaster of natlan, sufferings, and sacrifices of natlanese and saurians, it angers me, and wanting to make sure every abyss orders pay their prices for the damage they done. Imo, this music fills you with determination that we can put and end of the invasion.
That feeling of not taking a break fearing more people would die in that time is so real man I started that quest at 2AM in the night I'm thinking just gonna play for 15 minutes before I'd sleep. . . . I turned my phone off at 5.30 AM. And I couldn't sleep after that. All those missing NPCs and 1938 deaths...
I usually dont go crazy in games. Especially in story based games. But I was yelling "FOR NATLANN!!" while doing that quest. That was a fantastic experience and I enjoyed every nanosecond of that. Good job Hoyo, thanks for making me love Genshin again.
I've haven't cry for a Genshin Quest ever since Masquerade of the Guilty the amount of Emotion that went through me in this AQ was Amazing And Worth Experiencing Again the feeling you get when all of the Natlan Characters, Npc's and Fatui's fighting for Natlan defending They're homeland from the abyss, I was emotionally Happy when The battle was over but when thinking abt the amount of people that sacrifice themselves is just Hurtfull NOW AND FOREVER FOR NATLAN!
It’s rare anymore that a moment happens in a game that really makes my heart soar, but man this whole sequence did it for me. Absolute peak Genshin imo.
This is the only archon quest where i felt that i was hopeless, not finding anyone alive i truly embraced that terror that not even mavuika could save us anymore... what a masterpiece.
Only one franchise made me feel something like this mission made me feel... And it was Shingeki no Kyojin. Damn, even the ost gives me vibes of a good fight on Shingeki, like the way Barricades played over the Past Titans helped Armin and company to fight Ymir's Titans; this moment, when the Natlan theme started to play, it made me feel like taking revenge and giving honor to those who died; as Erwin once said, "They are the alive ones who will give the dead's lifes a meaning"
sadly SnK only had that feel of struggle until Erwin is gone. once the illusion of scale is broken and you know how OP the titan founder is and the Titan shifter was force to escape, its kinda just a process, you see it in Eren eyes. everything is already known, everything is already decided... it not a struggle anymore. really all Eren did was delay the destruction of their homeland until mikasa is dead, war never change and they still get wipeout in the end credit... the ending wasn't a victory, there is no victor in war in the SNK universe.
@lagrangewei I think that's what he was trying to convey at the end, that no matter what you do, war will always happen as long as there is evil in power, and he is also showing that if you oppress people they'll fight back and continue the cycle of suffering (because they have no choice but to, its kill or be killed) Noone wants to be killed and no one wants to live in fear. War is evil and fascism is evil. But yes you're right there really is no happy ending...but all we can say is that Eren indirectly accomplished eradicating all the titans and he was able to ensure his friends could live on, even if he never could. AoT is comparable in that way to real life because in fantasy you can have a full happy ending, but in real life, the suffering never ends :/
Man, I feel like I could write an essay about the whole war section on act IV. It has become one of my favorite parts of Genshin alongside Furina’s trial. It is so well crafted to guide the players through a narrative and through certain feelings, and reading the comments in this video and others, just reinforces my view on it. (Spoilers ahead) So here we go! Almost everyone started lighthearted about the war, they saw the war map and the first mission as a cool and fun minigame, the gimmick of this archon quest like the trials back in Fontaine. And then, look! You can choose what mission you can do next, it's a fun CYOA mission type? you observe the map, seeing some cool curiosities here and there, like Capitano fighting on the south, Mavuika on the north or a fatui group on that camp at the southeast you have raided a couple of times in your free time. Then, the game starts to slowly change the tone, never too on the nose: the sky gets cloudy, a special weather with the clouds having a slight tint of green and blue, unlike the dark clouds of rain we usually have, the death counter slowly rises, you open the map and the ruins where capitano fought, are covered in the purple mist of the abyss. Then the first cutscene happens, the abyss opens that ominous void darkening the sky even more, that camp you ignored gets overrun, the mist starts to spread, the deaths rise to the thousands, the map isn’t updating anymore, the second group of survivors you go to rescue is gone, only their death bodies are left. Then the miasma falls down from the sky, you go to investigate only to find more death as that thing fell of top of a caravan, killing everybody on the spot, leaving behind a spawn beacon behind a thick shield that you can’t scratch. You continue to the next mission, and on the way you finally know why the info stopped flowing, the Scions of the Canopy’s home has fallen, the platform, overrun by rift-hounds, the information network gone with it, leaving you blind in the fog of war, and yet, it doesn’t stop. There’s a Rhino laying on the ground ahead, not even those kind beings, that you know by a fact that are tough as a mountain can’t ignore the abyss, the children of Echos now have to flee their homes as well, and then… Chuychu is gone, another number that joins the death count, a list that adds to the hundreds by now. You carry her to the Coliseum and leave her to rest on a bed of flowers, the moral couldn’t be lower, going outside, you can find a lonely young Yumkasaur at the main entrance barking towards the bridge, waiting for a handler that will likely never return… But not everything is lost. Chasca has awoken her ancient name, Mavuika plan is on its way, inside the coliseum you can see that doctor you saved before, that even at her old age keeps helping those that need her skills, and even if she doesn’t know where her son is, she believes with her whole heart that he will survive. Outside you find that scared guy you talked with at the start of this whole thing, the one you comforted two times already, he’s alive and thanks you for your words, for taking the time to say you would remember him, that maybe without those words, he wouldn’t have made it. Down the stairs there’s more, those survivors you helped made it back against all odds, even with the heavy weight of seeing all their comrades fall in front of them, they made it back to safety. With a newfound determination, you go to the ceremony and witness present and past, unite against the powerful enemy that is the abyss. Powered up, Mavuika shines bright, her hair turned into a wild flame like before, the mosaic on her back shaped like a sun. In a blink, she shoots herself up and illuminates the dark sky like a damn flare, challenging the void and the abyss itself to a rematch. Backed up by the song of resurrection, you charge headfirst alongside your friends and other warriors from all the tribes, you destroy the abyss's beacons together, weakening the shield of the spawner, you dart towards the third one just to suddenly see how a fireball falls onto those pesky rift-hounds as Mavuika decides to give some support artillery, not letting her people fight alone. You destroy the spawner and quickly move to the next one, and then the next one, Mavuika getting more and more accurate each time, until she just annihilates the beacons with three shots. Out of nowhere the camp you decided to help before the miasma fell, joins you too with a cheeky remark and together destroy the third spawner, weakening the hold of the abyss in the land. You see all your friends doing their part too, they liberate their tribes, Ororon rushing to help Chasca fight back just to be received with the news that she alone took care of the abyss in her home, finally being able to avenge her dear sister. You return to the coliseum and defends the gates with everything you have, seeing for a second the death count rise above the five hundred just to immediately come back down, the warriors fighting all around the land rising up again and again, fighting for their nation as they all chant together “FOR NATLAN!”. Mavuika finally gathers enough strength to put an end to the fight, and charges a punch, that destroys the void and everything on its way, clearing the dark clouds and even cutting a hole in the fake sky itself. People cheer as victory has been achieve, they hug and drop their weapons tired but happy. Relieved we join the people at the bar, celebrating our victory and canting about how we are going to destroy this threat once and for all, the warriors and Fatui drink together, in the corner of the room you can see that old doctor reuniting with her son, at least for this night everyone can finally sleep in peace. And yet… the quest doesn’t end there, it ends on the outpost outside the coliseum, in a room lighten up by candles as an altar has been risen inside an old tower, a monument to the fallen, friends and NPC you will never be able to talk or see again, a scar that will always remain in your world from now on, a reminder of the war you fought that day, just like that hole in the sky.
This quest masterfully juggled the emotions of war and "victory from the jaws of defeat" thing. I legitimately was not sure whether we'd save natlan or have 5.3 be an avenging quest
While it's was very good being swept in the moment, the quest missed a few things. Aside from cinematics, when paimon said "I never saw that much monster", I dumbly look around and there was barely 1 tumor with 5 mobs. I would have loved seeing abyss monsters appearing from a few to a lot in the very little time you fly above them. Same when passing above canopy headquarter, aside form a very few abyss, I would have like to see the structure damaged. It would have given more core to the random number of death and monster. Did you see 2000 monsters while flying from area to area ? I am still looking for them :/ Still an incredible moment ! it's the second time (Furina first) I thought Mihoyo got scenarists for the archon quest. Usually side quests are better written than the main quest.
@@jeremyskrzypczak2431 that feels like an engine limitation and kind of a nitpick. I just accept it for what it is. I let my mind fill in the blanks personally
@@vihurah9554 it is nitpicking 😁 I still think they could have done it to make the player feel more despair, to sync more with paimon' feeling. I don't ask actually 2000 monsters, but seeing 4 wolfs is an everyday occurrence. Something that could hurt Natlan' citizen, but us? It is barely a threat. Make spawn just 20 monsters when Paimon talk during the travel would have been enough, even if you don't have to fight them, as long as the game make you think that maybe you'll have to, would have make that incredible experience even more immersive. To be fair, the feeling of never ending challenge was better in the fight on the Jade chamber with endless ennemies, something you try to protect but no matter what gradually lose life in front of the endless waves... then hope when Miss Ping bless you. I say it again, it is nitpicking and the quest remains top tier among what we got so far 🙂
@@jeremyskrzypczak2431agree, if genshin used unreal Engine to develop it, 100% sure it will the most epic cinematics story in all gacha games. 😂😂😂 Sadly it's engine limitations, but I still enjoy it don't get me wrong. Especially this OST 🔥🔥
This archon quest was a great showing by hoyoverse that they have learned from their mistakes when it came to storywriting and that their game has matured a lot, the first time I saw the warriors fighting the abyss monsters, my first thought was "let me help them, let me help them stand a chance!", an absolutely beauty of a quest
This quest demolished me emotionally. The death, the inevitable casualties of war, chuichu, the lasting pain, the music. It was beyond spiritual, my soul felt the beauty of this art and war. My heart wept, and all of me stood in awe. Not even the victory felt like one. It felt like the attack on titan moment where Levi stood with all his fallen comrades behind. It filled me with a rage and passion against the abyss. It felt like we are honouring the fallen with each enemy slain. And poor Chasca, Mavuika, everyone that lost someone in this war. It was chilling
This is a great story ngl. it present us how "hopeless" feeling are. people who died in war keep increase and abyss continue to overwhelm. the music when everything gone worse show us how despair of natlan was. and then until Mavuika use power, everything get better and filled with hope. even the music are really make us even more stronger, FIlled with hope and determination. I thought fontaine are the best quest. but just until this heroic story appeared, i change my mind instantly. honorable mention : FOR NATLAN!!!! 🗣🗣🔊🔊🔥🔥🔥🔥
PEAK quest. Once I started, I couldn't take a break before finishing it, fearing more people would die in my frivolous break time. Infinitely spamming bursts and all, just to destroy the abyss faster, and still had 2138 deaths and so many missing NPCs missing from the game after that...
Natlan can end in ACT IV and i will still give it a solid 10/10 for that climax. The catharsis from turning the tides is just Beautifully well done. Maybe there are few plotholes left behind but it achieved its main goal with how high the bar is set for this warring nation. Imagine if act V somehow topped this tho, idk how
if this isn't the climax yet, I'm afraid of what they will cook for act V. for all we know its a stand off between Mavuika, traveler, capitano, ronova, and the heart of the abyss
For me, I was sidelined by the war mode. I thought it could be fun, similar to like a raid simulation or something, and I've done that before. Thing is I noticed there were two spots I could go to, and everything people were saying gave me pause. Why are we worrying about supplies being all over the place? Just pick them up. Hey guy, what are you worried about? It's fine to be scared. Someone's mom to be found...oh, sweet I found her. Hey lady, your son's worried. Here's your message. 'Kay, time to head to this outpost and...wait, why are you asking me if you'll be remembered if you die? ...Of course you will be remembered. The deaths bothered me, but they were in the hundreds. I feel that's bad but surely it won't get worse, I can't let it happen...and what the hell is that? The Cryogunner died protecting a mother and her child, a lone saurian is the survivor of this outpost, and now the deaths are breaking a thousand. How could I let this happen? And the situation got worse, and it really felt like a miracle I could find anyone that's alive. I tried my best in the Children of Echoes, and that bore fruit, but everywhere else felt desolate. Maybe I could save the Scions of the Canopy...okay everyone is dead, but I can still clear up the monsters right...oh, I guess there's no point. I believe I hit 1.9k or 2k deaths before we got to Chasca and Chuychu. That was the final straw for all of us. Seeing Mavuika assemble all awakened heroes, and we get to clear the abyss tumors FINALLY with this music? It wasn't cinema or revenge. It was catharsis that finally we could help Natlan see the sun of tomorrow with no more losses. And dude, look at you. You survived, along with the guy's mom, that family, and the saurian. If only more could've been there at the city due to my choices, or maybe I could've fought better.
Chapters 6 and onward better pack awesome sob stories or even more brutal fights, because topping a nationwide war is gonna be tough. I knew Natlan would hit hard, good to see it didn't disappoint...and it isn't over yet.
@@Jdogrey1 Fontaine is great, too, but I honestly prefer watching the people fight for their nation along with their Archon than the lonely, silent sacrifice Furina and Focalors made.
Dude I've never felt so helpless and devastated before doing this Archon Quest, seeing everyone dying around me and not being able to save them was devastating, seeing the death toll rise and the monsters slowly taking over man I felt like crying, when Mavuika used the power of Ronova I really let it rip! This soundtrack is so damn amazing it really carries the feelings with you and call me weird but whenever I get deep into the story of games/anime I feel like I was really there experiencing their pain, it's hard but it goes to show how amazing writers are and musicians, Genshin is amazing
with how good act 4 is i feel like they backed themselves into a corner and now they'll struggle to somehow make act 5 better lmao, i wouldn't even complain if some questions were wrapped up and this became act 5 instead

I don't care, call Genshin an otaku game/Zelda clone, whatever. This AQ was one of the most intense and cinematic video game experiences of my life, that I would compare to the likes of Suicide Mission in ME2.
It's not a clone it's literally one of the best games with the content they do and it literally IMPACTED my life for the better before genshin I was complete shit now I workout and I'm kind to everyone and Paimon is my number 1 character out of all games I played she will be only char am gonna c6 r5 people who hate Paimon are red flags
The moment i saw the death counter i instantly switched to my strongest team and took all buffs....i normally never use ults in overworld cause stuff dies fast enough but damn this time i ulted on cooldown when needed and run as fast as i could, i probably would have pulled a Constellation for Yelans double sprint in this moment. I was in pure stress as the game moved on and even though i couldnt save all i kept it quite low with 1,5k in the end. The dead saurians hit me hard and Chuyuchi in the end cost me even a tear or 2. I never doubted this Quest will be good but to put me into such emotions...crazy. FOR NATLAN!

Haven't felt this hyped since the climax of Sumeru's. I knew something like this scene was coming, but it was still thrilling to finally experience after all of the tension.
I've finished the quest and lemme tell you this, i've had a speech playing in my head "Brothers and Sisters we shall hold the line, to battle against the night! We may perish that other may survive. We shall hold the line! FOR NATLAN!!"
This is the mood for when we're given the task to hold the entrance to the stadium. Hearing the Natlanese forces screaming, "FOR NATLAN!" I couldn't help but being seized with the same zeal to protect the survivors inside the stadium. Truly a 10/10 experience.
@@witchqueen1296idk how Hoyo did it, but dang they hit so hard with that, I felt nothing but absolute determination to obliterate every abyssal monstrosity with absolute force.
Im glad they learned that if you got an amazing leitmotif (natlan's theme) you use it as many times as you can. I loved fontaines main theme leitmotif but you dont get many versions of it.
Act 4 truly gave us the WAR we've been wanting for Natlan. I love that Hoyo made you fall in love with the bright environment and cute saurians and then gave us DEATH so it's more impactful
After witnessing utter tragedy and despair for like 30 minutes, then straight into FULL FORCE RETALIATION... TELL ME it doesn't fuel you to the BRIM with motivation. Tears down my face, my heart thumping so hard, my fingers autopilot on just attacking, my face angry, my focus unbreakable even though it was like 1 am and I was half asleep.
i rarely use my ults when fighting enemies, even on archon quest. but damn, this song lifted up my spirit as im in a war itself, seeing those npcs gave them all in their attacks, i gave my all too. i spammed ults whenever available
Would honestly be so cool to see the other 5(?) Nations appear in Natlan after this, cause in no way is a full-on war with the Abyss is something the rest of the nations will go "yeah, let the Natlanese handle this".
They would be on higher alert, if you pay attention, troops in the far region of Liyue already picked up the effort like they knew something was gonna get serious, several updates ago. In the music event of Inazuma, Raiden Shogun and Yae Miko, hinted their thoughts of the upcoming war, with hope that people present in the music tour and the nation will surely unite by their side. Klee's mother is also on the case, about the fake sky getting weakened, maybe her tea club is also on the move. This is the biggest clash between humanity and the Abyss in the last 500 years so far, lore wise. The other 5 nations surely will get their preparations underway.
@leminh2659 there WAS an event where the 5 nations available at the time sent people to meet in Liyue to discuss ways to better handle dealing with monsters. It wasn't really about the abyss, but it was something to show that everyone realized that preparations were needed
definitely seeing this song be playing as one of the civ's ost when playing games like Civ 6. it's just so epic. if Liyue reminds us of living a peaceful life at home, then Natlan reminds us of living a glorious life of defending your home & making epic journeys 🔥
It hit different for me the moment Aether said this was a war. Seeing all the dead npcs was something else. I literally whipped out my cyno to beat the crap out of the abyss and give them a taste of karma.
This is the only quest that makes me think that at any moment the no name NPC that I pass everyday may not be there tomorrow, and that is quite the feat.
What baffles me is that the Abyss that’s attacking Natlan isn’t even known abyss organization like the Abyss Order and yet the attacks and invasion are so well coordinated that it would cause a devastating casualties.
If you've played Honkai Impact the Abyss is very similar to the Honkai, just a giant eldritch entity driving by a single instict for ruin and destruction from the point of view of humans. The truth might be worse tho. If I remeber correctly the Honkai is closer to the Imaginary Tree's defence/immune system that view humanity as an "error or cancer". The abyss could very likely serve a similar function for Genshin. Imaginary Tree = Basically a "super universe" containing other smaller universes on its branches, like HI3, HSR and maybe Genshin. We don't know yet for sure however as Genshin share character with the other games is very likely part of the tree.
thats the feeling war gives you. there is no going back. the choices you made, stick with you forever. thats what hoyoverse wants us to feel. war creates regret and suffering.

Very nice loop of the song! This quest was the best of the 5x update(not the best story quest imo), had to bring the archon squad back toghether for some more kaenri'ah ptsd
Well Liyue has Zhongli who is literally the most powerful archon right now. He would've stepped in and pulled yet another "Guyun Stone Forest" on them anyway. He was letting mortals prove they don't need him anymore. Mauvika is literally a human given immense power by the sacred flame, who is only powerful if the ancient heroes are active. This war could've ended in the annihilation of Natlan if Chasca did not awaken, and lost herself to grief.
The experience of Act IV was so immersive, suspenseful, and breathtaking that I had to celebrate the victory by pulling on the Xilonen banner. Got her to C2 at that time, absolutely add a joy to the already unforgettable gaming experience!
Didn't realize that the AQ is going to be long and everyone's experience is completely random, so this is my experience of the whole thing. I had to respond as fast as I can. Not in order: Saved the mother and child from those rifthounds, a couple of people with only one guard, manage to encourage a fighter, only save the baby saurian, get the female doctor and her son safe. I have no idea if Toto survived on my end because I was determined to save people as fast as possible. The total death count was on the 1.5k I had to respond quick, also I don't know if encouraging that potion girl to go down to the People of the Springs should be a good idea or not, thinking that Mulalani spent the majority of the fight down there so had assume that people should catch up, but it might've ended up getting them killed instead, but I have to match forward, I can grief when the coast is clear.

Act IV is Genshin at its best, and was one of the most immersive and impactful gaming experiences I've ever had. It's up there with the final chapters of God of War: Ragnarok and Tears of the Kingdom. The narrative, the combat, the characters, the UI, the mood and atmosphere transitions from bright/fun Natlan to despair to triumph culminating in this musical masterpiece. Absolute cinema.

Especially when some characters will die whether you get to them if you don't get to them first, bro the chills.
EXACTLY. I could not tolerate. I had to bring out my strongest team.
"All right, its time to international against the abyss for the people of natlan"
This is what ive been trying to articulate. Throughtout the quest natlan is divided, but little by little, they come together to burn as one

This ost make this whole archon quest the most epic one out of all.

The Chuychu scene had stopping the game for a few minutes cuz at that time i was bawling. tears was still flowing even into the final battle, gotta say i was so immersed into this story it felt like i was there, trying my best to help ppl survive. i still have no idea how the final count for me was 1.4k
FRRRR LIKE THE DEVASTATION IS REAL ITS SCARY
since everyone is sharing their personal experience, i'm going to share mine too. i rushed every single expedition i could because the situation was already dire at 120 deaths, and when things got even more serious i just forgot my battle line and started spamming all my bursts and skills to get rid of the abyss quickly and avoid as many deaths as possible. then, after mavuika activated ronova's power i just took it all out in revenge
So trueeeee, I spam my ulti and even bring my NRE bag.
How many deaths did you get?

Oh my God same...that anime was the saddest thing I've ever watched, this Archon Quest almost gave me the same feelings I felt during watching it...
There's three of us, comrades.
Four of us! No one fights alone lol. But seriously, I'm feeling patriotic like I was in AOT
sadly SnK only had that feel of struggle until Erwin is gone. once the illusion of scale is broken and you know how OP the titan founder is and the Titan shifter was force to escape, its kinda just a process, you see it in Eren eyes. everything is already known, everything is already decided... it not a struggle anymore. really all Eren did was delay the destruction of their homeland until mikasa is dead, war never change and they still get wipeout in the end credit... the ending wasn't a victory, there is no victor in war in the SNK universe.
(Spoilers ahead)
So here we go!
You carry her to the Coliseum and leave her to rest on a bed of flowers, the moral couldn’t be lower, going outside, you can find a lonely young Yumkasaur at the main entrance barking towards the bridge, waiting for a handler that will likely never return…
But not everything is lost.
And yet… the quest doesn’t end there, it ends on the outpost outside the coliseum, in a room lighten up by candles as an altar has been risen inside an old tower, a monument to the fallen, friends and NPC you will never be able to talk or see again, a scar that will always remain in your world from now on, a reminder of the war you fought that day, just like that hole in the sky.
boy chill down you spoiled the whole story 😂
ABSOLUTE CINEMA
I am still looking for them :/
Still an incredible moment ! it's the second time (Furina first) I thought Mihoyo got scenarists for the archon quest. Usually side quests are better written than the main quest.
@@jeremyskrzypczak2431 that feels like an engine limitation and kind of a nitpick. I just accept it for what it is. I let my mind fill in the blanks personally
@@vihurah9554 it is nitpicking 😁
I still think they could have done it to make the player feel more despair, to sync more with paimon' feeling.
😂😂😂
Sadly it's engine limitations, but I still enjoy it don't get me wrong.
This is cinema.
This archon quest is a MASTERPIECE. I felt a mix of emotions. God job Hoyoverse❤
Someone said in this scene Mavuika is like a "sun", while Gosoytoth is like a "blackhole" and i cried all over again
Imagine if act V somehow topped this tho, idk how
I think it is fairly likely act V will focus on Mavuika.
if this isn't the climax yet, I'm afraid of what they will cook for act V. for all we know its a stand off between Mavuika, traveler, capitano, ronova, and the heart of the abyss
THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS IT'S SUCH A BANGER
FOR NATLAN!!!!
I really felt the despair of the people throughout the war- and was SO insanely uplifted by the end. This music was AMAING HRKDNSKS
To be fair, Fontaine still hit harder, just on a more personal level.
@@Jdogrey1 Fontaine is great, too, but I honestly prefer watching the people fight for their nation along with their Archon than the lonely, silent sacrifice Furina and Focalors made.
@@elpadrinofeyea focalors’ sacrifice should be made known to the public too
Dude I've never felt so helpless and devastated before doing this Archon Quest, seeing everyone dying around me and not being able to save them was devastating, seeing the death toll rise and the monsters slowly taking over man I felt like crying, when Mavuika used the power of Ronova I really let it rip! This soundtrack is so damn amazing it really carries the feelings with you and call me weird but whenever I get deep into the story of games/anime I feel like I was really there experiencing their pain, it's hard but it goes to show how amazing writers are and musicians, Genshin is amazing
Same here.
"Come on, you sons of bitches. Do you want to live forever?" - Sergeant Major Dan Daly, June 1918. I think it's a fitting quote for this moment.
War is the most horrifying thing that should not exist. Not in RL, not even in a game :(
Natlan's act 4 is on par with Fontaine's act 5. You can't change my mind
with how good act 4 is i feel like they backed themselves into a corner and now they'll struggle to somehow make act 5 better lmao, i wouldn't even complain if some questions were wrapped up and this became act 5 instead

Absolute truth man, I feel the same way
And the sad thing, a large part of the fandom can't comprehend the beauty of this game
one of the best games already made.

Man this gives KH2 Battle of 1000 Heartless vibes. Something I like from both a Genshin & Kingdom Hearts fan myself.
I've finished the quest and lemme tell you this, i've had a speech playing in my head
"Brothers and Sisters we shall hold the line, to battle against the night!
Khoảng khắc đó chạm vào trái tim tôi, vì Natlan!
Natlan the nation of heroes.
Natlanese do not fight like heroes. Heroes fight like natlanese
You know natlans people are fucking troopers when everyone took up arms and stared down the abyss qnd they never wavered for a fuckin second
Especially with no visions, only elementally infused weaponry.
After witnessing utter tragedy and despair for like 30 minutes, then straight into FULL FORCE RETALIATION... TELL ME it doesn't fuel you to the BRIM with motivation. Tears down my face, my heart thumping so hard, my fingers autopilot on just attacking, my face angry, my focus unbreakable even though it was like 1 am and I was half asleep.
going straight to chasca was a nation-changing desicion
The war got serious for me when I saw those dead saurians.
i cant describe how excited i am for mavuika im so hyped for her
i rarely use my ults when fighting enemies, even on archon quest. but damn, this song lifted up my spirit as im in a war itself, seeing those npcs gave them all in their attacks, i gave my all too. i spammed ults whenever available
@@cho-zblader1866 yep, I remember that too, but it was a limited time event, so nothing quite impressive.
Only Snezhnaya helped.
Look at those Fatuis. I'm not gonna fight them anymore unless game forces.
definitely seeing this song be playing as one of the civ's ost when playing games like Civ 6. it's just so epic. if Liyue reminds us of living a peaceful life at home, then Natlan reminds us of living a glorious life of defending your home & making epic journeys 🔥
I'm feel so alive after a devastating lost of many people in Natlan. I was fired up while destroying abyss while this music plays
This Archon quest was emotional damage and one of the best so far, nobody fights alone and we'll fight for Natlan

Honestly, while playing, I felt sad and angry. The situation was terrible, and I could hardly do anything to help. I was so mad at the Abyss. When I got the Ode of Resurrection buff, I felt incredibly empowered. It's PAYBACK moment.
Very nice loop of the song!
This quest was the best of the 5x update(not the best story quest imo), had to bring the archon squad back toghether for some more kaenri'ah ptsd
Last time we saw something like that was fights against Osial and Beisht in Liyue. But even back then scale was much lower.

THANKSSSS!!!! I was searching for the name so bad
hope you get all the characters you want in genshin
Thank you for making this, it’s exactly what I was looking for 💖💖💖 yes the loop is perfect!
Is it safe to say that after Natlan quest, Genshin is now a contender for Game of the Decade? The game award that was only given to Witcher 3.
