- Today we unbox the hotly anticipated Takom/Snowman 1/35 AH-64 kit - specifically the AH-64E Guardian.
We take a quick look at the parts & instructions first before speaking with a subject matter expert for his take on the new releases - what they got right, what they got wrong, as well as build notes.
This is a bit of a longer video than we usually produce.

We will be doing a video head-to-head comparison of the upcoming Meng 1/35 AH-64D Longbow with it's Takom/Snowman counterpart when the kit is released.
Спасибо за обзор. Меня интересовало прежде всего руководство по сборке. Заметил, что коробки Snowman без логотипа Takom стоят немного дешевле, но на коробке только китайские иероглифы.
Printed interiors are a must nowadays.
Just received the Longbow, this has been very helpful, great review/interview
Nice review. I have just had a reply from Red Fox Studios and they confirm their 3D instrument panels will be available soon.
Great news!
Thanks for the info guys
Great review!!
There is a new Academy kit coming out later this year.
Great!!!!
Thanks for a great review. This is the first view I have had of this kit.. it looks real nice!!
great unboxing bro...fyi Kittyhawk is defunct now
So mix both the D and E kits to get a late model D apache or aftermarket decals? I hope live resin will make some crew figures . This kit doesn't appear to have any restraint harnesses either.
What's the different between Takom and Meng??
This looks like a really good kit, let down by bad instructions. Why do Takom always leave out any colour call outs for detail painting? I know that it looks like the cockpit is all Black. But some proper colour call outs Tamiya style would not go a miss. I am wondering if I should wait for the Meng kit or get this one.
The Meng kit is essentially identical - something went on between the two companies. The only difference is that the Takom kit features folding blades. All else will be precisely the same.
I do also think that if you're spending this amount on a large kit like this, the vast majority of modellers will be doing their own photo research. I don't know any modellers who take color call outs at their word...
@@stephengilmore2741 Well, I haven's seen any details or un-boxing video's for the Meng kit. I may not be getting either kit at these stupid prices anyway.
@@stephengilmore2741 I dont think they are identical with Meng. The surface detail eg. rivets is really better on Takom. Check the models.
Snowman was working on the Meng kit and illegally it ended up being made into the Takom when Takom bought snowman is how I heard it. The E of the world doesn't have rotor folding.
Thanks for leaving out crappy UA-cam friendly music. Refreshing.
