Vijay, a businessman lives with his wife and their children. His only son Ajay returns home after completing his degree from abroad. Ajay now wants to start his own business, whereas, Vijay wants him to join the family business. Vijay disowns Ajay due to their conflicting ideologies. However, when Ajay learns about his brother-in-law's evil intentions to take over the family business, he decides to help his family.

And today is the day, i have watched this movie after 23 years. That time i did not understood the movie and i was 7 years old. Now, i have understood it very well. its a very entertaining movie but I highly object with Amitabh's character. How easily he forgives his son in law Rajesh who had stolen every single penny from them and ruined their lives. Just because he is his daughter's husband?? Really?? Wow! hahaha..What kind of culture or custom is this that you want your daughter to spend her life with a traitor and a thief? And how easily he trusts Rajesh who was a complete stranger but he can't trust his own son's abilities who was really passionate about his goals. And how frequently he degrades his son instead of teaching him where he is wrong. And with just a simple argument because of the difference in perspective how easily he threw his son out of his home but in the end he how easily forgives that cheater Rajesh just like he hasn't done anything wrong. There is a big contradiction in his character, it isn't justified well.
