- Hey house lovers and explorers! These 3 cottages were all random finds about 18 months ago in Ballarat, Victoria where I was also able to a few explorers with The Frightened Explorer www.youtube.co...
These 3 cottages consist of a very nice cozy Green cottage that has been demolished along with the home next to it. The second cottage started life around 1900 and is now showing it`s age through neglect. The third home is perhaps a early 60`s home also overgrown and neglected. Hope you all enjoy the explores. Cheers for watching and check out the Frightened Explorer here- www.youtube.co...
Indigo, I know places grow and change, but why is everyone in such a hurry to get rid of the past??? Because I saw no damages to the Walls in the GREEN HOUSE!!! It would be awesome for a young couple starting out!!! These HOUSES make me want to cry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because the Globalists are in control of our Grubberment. They want to depopulate on one hand but fill the cities full of controllable serfs
Someone wanted to build something new there that no-one can afford.
The real answer is that older homes tend to accumulate lots of little invisible issues that slowly become more and more expensive. Replacing wiring, plumbing, improving insulation, dealing with foundation shift, structural beams eventually do start to deteriorate and need replacing, particularly in rooves etc.
I've just bought a house not much older than these in the video and even after being renovated and having walls completely replaced, it's got some major issues all related to the fact it's simply an old home. So before we bought it, the previous owner replaced internal walls, including adding extra supports to structural walls, had the electrics in the roof rewired, and redid the plumbing in the bathroom entirely. We're going to have to re-roof and replace roof supports within a years time, and get an electrician in to repair the wiring in the walls itself. The stumps also need attention and that alone will set us back a thousand per stump, but we can at least spread that cost out over multiple years.
The house also had moisture retention issues, again due to age as technology around that kind of thing has improved. So rooms require constant maintenance to prevent mold and paint deterioration.
Tl;Dr
Old homes are expensive to maintain. Modernizing is expensive and staying true to original is impractical and uncomfortable.
The green cottage was adorable! I would love to have a tidy little home like that. Sad to know it’s gone now.
House was much larger than I anticipated from the outside.I thought it was a lovely little place. Thank you Paul. Cheers ☮️💜
Still a nice house I would live in it the green one
A small cottage is so much more appealing to me. They are so cozy.
Ashame about the vandalism . Another fantastic video! Thank you.
Oih'what lovely flauwors this home,,very loveble 🍃🌹🍃🌷and big garden
Three interesting finds mate cheers to the Frightened Explorer a few cool additions to these mate there was some awesome wallpaper in the second one, dam they get vandalised and tagged. Those real estate pics made the first cottage stand out. Cheers for another random finds mate.
Cheers Werner, 😊 thanks for watching again 👍😊
It's so sad to see all these old treasures get lost
Shame about the vandalism, all three would have made nice starter homes. Thanks for sharing them with us!!
Thankyou for sharing.
Very awesome find’s mate! Stay safe & cool ! ❤️🤘👍
I love all the geraniums that you find at these old places. So old fashioned. Takes me back. That was mostly all we had then. So easy to grow from a cutting. And it's there till the end. 🇦🇺
Glad you enjoyed Ruby, Cheers 😊👍
As usual I kinda enjoy the outbuildings more.
Those were kids that vadalized the third house, most of the damage was low towards the floor. That and the little ones generally can't afford spraypaint.
Thanks for the tour Paul!
👍🤠
Hey John! Cheers for watching again 👍😁👍
Hi paul, love the little green cottage, great work. 😊.cheers deb
Urbex Indigo thanks for sharing these video with me what a very cool find i really enjoyed it and God Bless and thanks again.
That green cottage is quite a decent size actually. Bigger than mine & had a big shed, veranda & garage & a decent size garden.
😮.The green getaway...
Beautiful roses at the first house. Someone once loved that house.
Great video enjoyed it thank you ❤
All look like they'd have been comfortable to live in, just the right size. :)
Another great episode and I hope that the weather cools off soon but
until then I'm enjoying your finding these three awesome abandoned
homes on the same road from awhile back was great and until next
time just take care of yourself and Thanks.🇦🇺🤠👍🇦🇺
Glad you like them Roger, Cheers 👍🙂
Thanks for another great explore Paul. I really enjoyed this, love the green house with the rose bushes out the front and that stained glass door was really beautiful. Stay cool in this heat. God bless.
Green cottage, I sure like those flowers in the yard and stones on the front porch . You just got to the laundry and I have to say those floors are nice. Cool brick on the fireplace. Very nice green cottage, but it needed a bathtub. 21:59 Wow that is one high doorknob! Nice wallpaper. Last house was okay.
Hello Paul well the green cottage is still standing but there are plans in the pipe line. The empty house lot and the green cottage will soon be a service station As if we need more service station in that street. The other two houses have been demolished they are now empty blocks. The last house has looked empty for years the only sign that it wasn't was a car in the yard. I know this part of town very well. Thanks for sharing I enjoyed this video very much.
Cheers Anne, always great to hear from locals. Will be back that way in few weeks 😊👍
Love to have the green cottage its so cute.Id live there now ,since Im down sizing from my 3 bedroom 2 bath and wash room room Thats just what i want.,the other two was rough looking .👍🇺🇸❤️
The first two cottages have flowers growing which indicates the homeowners cared about their dwellings and surroundings. The green cottage had a warm, cozy vibe. Thanks for sharing !
It is a shame. So many empty houses yet so many people in need of a home. There needs to be some clever project that brings them together. We have such a high level of dysfunction that keeps people separate from what they need.
Definitely a 70s vibe with the decor on the 1st and 3rd property. What a contrast between the green one standing abandoned and how it looked finished - it looked so cozy. Great video fella.
Cheers Richie! 😁 Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Love that stained glass on that door
I loved the little green cottage! It was charming when occupied. The living room door in the second cottage was beautiful!!
I love the 1st. Cottage the best 👌 👍 😍 🥰. When a cozy little house 🏠.
Three lovely homes Paul they take u down memory lane ❤❤❤
The little green cottage was about late 40’s and repainted and last redone in the early 70’s. That would be my guess. The lovely door, I don’t know where that came from but it isn’t really old either. That design is 70’s as well and they always mounted with the sun behind them on the outside but sometime they then built on a bit of a verandah or patio and they didn’t get anymore bright light to show off the pattern. I love looking through this!
Sebastopol ; there was a nice house next to the green cottage demolished about 2years or so ago ;i live 10 min walk from green cottage; usually junkies get into these old homes hence the mess you seen
Cheers Peter, yes I recall the old home next to it with a fence up bout 2 years ago. Always great to hear from locals. Cheers for watching 🙂👍
Hope someome digs all the flowers up to keep.
What a great find, the three little cottages.
Nice cute little cottages here shame the vandals have to come by and kick crap out of them bit senseless, thanks for sharing Cheers MM :)
Glad you enjoyed MM 😊
@@urbexindigo5164 Cheers always a pleasure 👍 :)
Love the paing ing.
Amazingly, 2 of the 3 are still there. But still empty. Edit. The first and third cottages is still there
Hey mate! 👍😁 Wow I thought for sure the green cottage would be gone! Will be back your way soon, will head out to a few 😁👍 cheers 👍
Love the color 😂❤it's quite cheery, thanks for sharing
Three nice little warm family homes at one time glad you got to document them before they were gone
Cheers Jerrold 👍🙂
🌟Hi Paul, cute beautiful cottage my grandfathers parents house is green exactly like this one and it is still standing to this day the colour reminded me I drive past it sometimes to see if it’s still there. Absolutely love them. Thank you for the tour. ❤😊🌟x
Cheers Megan 😊 the green cottage is still standing apparently, but will become a service station. Cheers for watching 🙂👍
I'd buy it.
Very nice seeing these, do you ever try to propagate old roses you come across to try to save them ?
Not yet Ernie. Cheers 😊👍
The little green cottage would have been a pleasant place to live. Nice pics of it while it was still alive.
I'm thinking the second one wouldn't have been abandoned that long because of the stove. Looks like the exact model that's in my kitchen that was put in from new in the box maybe 10 years ago. Stupid front knobs that kids always mess with & the solid hotplates that don't take too long to rust out/crumble away.
Love the large yards. The first house was cute for a couple
Beautiful house I love 👍👍❤️❤️😺👋👋
Bloody hot?? I'm in Arizona and this is real hot!! Nothing bloody about it!
home#1, sooo cute, except for the green .. thanks Paul!
The first cottage, you can see the stained glass door up at the back of the kitchen, next to the fridge, 18:28 minute, such a sweet little house.
The first one was nice, maybe someone could have lived there. In the southern part of the U.S it can't decide if it wants to be warm or freezing. Stay cool and take care.
Geraniums and roses found in most Aussie gardens xx
Wouldn't be Australia with out the blowfly 🤣🤣
Great job, Paul, and so frustrating- I would take any of those cottages, most definitely the first one. I wonder how the owner feel, knowing they are going to be taken down? Money only goes so far. How do I get an Australian Visa?-SDK
Hi SDK. 🙂 Apparently the Green cottage is still standing! 🙂👍
❤🎉
Already has a mini split AC installed 🤣
I hope they do the land (space) and township justice with their redevelopment
Hi Amanda 😊 the frightened explorer tells me the green cottage is still standing! 😁 Thanks for the support 👍
😮
👍😸
Weird place fir the loo..I'm mean ya have to walk down a hallway..the home is definitely designed for a single person..
Strada units coming i bet
Thanks, Paul. Interesting to see some properties my side of the SA/VIC border. It's been awhile since you've had some decent shed finds with good contents. You'll have to lift your game! 😁Jokes aside, I can say you have never produced a video that didn't hold my interest.
Cheers Ken!! 👍🙂
they would of all be nice houses at one point
The green cottage 1930's onwards?
Does not go back past the 30s but has features that could reach the 50s 👍😊
That’s a cedar tree in the backyard of the last place.
Yeh. I thought so too. Melia azerdarach . White cedar. 🇦🇺
@@lavenderfields929 They grow pretty well in the inland of Australia.
