    I used to daily my wife’s 4cyl accord since I have a tundra One day I realized why the hell did I buy a truck if I ain’t using it. Been happy paying $860-ish/month on gas! Worth it with a beast of a truck 👊🏼

    Gas is almost the same as buying a luxury brand car also…premium gas adds up to almost the same amount spent in the truck.

    Good morning young man,
    This is John Chan the fisherman. I have less than a year to retire and I own a 2007 tundra since I first came out with 4 rotors because I tow a 22ft fishing boat.
    I agreed with you 100 % , my worst MPG while Not towing is 10.5 mpg. It sucks....soooo bad.
    Since I bought a $ 5000.00 Yaris. Happily to report that I average 35 to 37.5 mpg on the 1.5 liter. I will get A to B, I don't care if people laugh or cry at me. I know I save a lot of fuel. Yes this is a toyt man, so far 6 vehicles in my fleet. 23 GR86, 18 nx300, 13 rx350, 07 rx350.
    Now I only drive my Tundra once a week to the battery.
    Like your video thanks.

    My wife was hauling garden soil and fertilizer in her Tesla Model Y. So I got a 2020 Tundra. We had a suburban for years but I’ll admit the Tundra is big. Takes up all the space. At least it’s not an crew cab dually. That’s crazy big!

    The only question I had that you didn't answer is why did you buy the full-sized truck? 90% of everything you mentioned is documented information you would've/could've/should've known prior to purchase. I have a 2007 4Runner V6, used to have a 2004 4Runner V8. I get better than published MPG, by a fraction. The V8 and the V6 get about the same mpg because the V8 has a different transmission and gearing. I'm shopping for a new vehicle now, but I might just polish up the 2007 and keep it for a while. Prices are nuts right now.

    • @OfficialAing
      @OfficialAing 8 місяців тому +1

      Fair question, and truth is I’ve wanted this truck for the longest time. My “dream” truck! I did know mostly all of these but it’s different from it being online to living with it…if that makes any sense. Also you got a GEM! Love the look of that gen 4Runner, I would say keep it for now 🤷‍♂️ till interest and prices go down, unless you 100% know what you want.

    How expensive is gas where you’re from? I use my tundra daily for work. Mon- Fri. Use about 100 miles daily. Refuel every 4ish days. Fill her up with $100, have the 38 gal tank but only fills up to 32gal when on E. Central Texas around $3/gal. Around 420 miles per tank.
    $100 weekly for only driving 30 miles daily seems like a lot to me.
    For the weekends I drive a Camry though lol

      Filled up yesterday $3.79 here in good ole VA! Probably around 40miles total daily, but it’s a LOT of city! Stop and go! But even when I go to the beach (155 miles away) I end up putting in like $86 just below half tank 😢

    I daily drive a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro double cab. Concerning the interior size that's why I went double cab because I don't need all that space but prefer a full size bed. Concerning parking I just park out in the boonies so nobody hits me. The walk is good for me too. Concerning your commute being 15 miles and takes up to an hour....bro you got to move. That is horrific. You are absolutely right the Tundra is an incredible highway vehicle. I have the 38 gallon tank so I can go well over 600 miles on a tank before I need to stop and fill up. The real plus is I have the Fox Shox suspension which makes my Tundra so comfortable to drive. I like it better than my Honda Accord V6 which is pretty comfortable too.
    Finally, the mpg isn't great. You hit it right on the nail every truck including the Ecoboost gets shit for gas. My Double cab usually gets 15 city and 17 highway. It's not good at all but I didn't buy a truck to get good gas mileage.
    Overall, nothing beats the Tundra V8. My 2021 replaced my 2003 Tundra 4.7L V8 4x4 that I put just over 205,000 miles on in 18 years of driving and literally never once had a problem with it. I only sold it because of how gutless it was and I needed to be able to tow a lot more weight. This Tundra is an absolute towing monster too. I tow a 8,000 lb Glacier Bay 2670 boat regularly and it does it so well. My Dad's 2017 F-150 ecoboost doesn't tow it as well and gets only 7.5 mpg when towing it. My Tundra gets 9.8 mpg all day.
    Great video keep the truck you won't regret it.

    This is my own experience with my 2007 6'inch lifted Tundra with TOYO Open country mud tire (M/T), 245K miles now
    I live in SF Bay Area, California with the highest gas price
    I used to drive a Honda accord while driving the Tundra sometimes for fun. But my accord engine died right after 300K. So i started driving this Tundra as my daily car, pretty daily committed to having 1 car only since I ONLY have 1 parking spot in my apartment building, and street parking here is not quite safe over night. Car break in got worst in my area.
    I do mobile service, so I drive every single day, at least 100 miles, easy. Sometimes around 150 miles. With only 26 gallon gas tank and 303 miles range when it's full, I have to go the gas station every other day or every other 2 days.
    Gas price costs $4.15 now (cheapest i can find), roughly $700~$1000 monthly
    MPG is around 10-13, Due to the worst combination of 5.7 engine, 6' inch lifed, mud tires lol ( from previous owner, this is my first ever pick up truck)
    Parking in SF, kinda like NYC, just not too friendly to pick up trucks, just need to prepare more time to find the right spot, and might need to walk for a few blocks after I park
    Anyway, I have no plan to get rid of it, and still enjoy driving it

    I keep going back and fore between the Tacoma and a tundra. I currently own a 2020 TRD off road Tacoma but I was thinking about trading for a 6 ft bed. I can make a decent amount of money on the resale. I don’t know if I want another taco or move up to the tundra…

    • @OfficialAing
      @OfficialAing 8 місяців тому

      Really depends who you ask to me, no it is not. Only because of the sound lol Its a Toyota so you can't really go wrong, I will get one someday! I just wanted to have a V8! V6 has more power, the only thing the V8 lovers say is reliability! If it wasn't a factor (which it shouldn't be because we don't keep our cars long enough to compare reliability) the v6 WINS...Just my opinion!
