90th Anniversary Presentation at Thurgood Marshall - Home of the Port Chicago 50

February 11, 2024 "Celebrate Black History" walk at Thurgood Marshall Regional Park - Home of the Port Chicago 50. The tour included a special presentation celebrating the Park District's 90th Anniversary.
In honor of Black History month, this walking tour provided access to nearly 100 visitors to explore the southern end of Concord's new regional park, which is not yet open to the public. During the walk, visitors learned about the history of this land, stories of resistance and bravery, and the events that occurred here that played a vital role in the desegregation of the armed forces.
