I'm up for correction here but if the ex-partner paid the lobola in whole or in part, I believe they're still married in customary law even if the lobola was returned or the said meeting occurred. Either party could apply to the court to have the marriage recognized/dissolved because the law does not give people the authority to divorce outside the avenue of the courts. Hopefully, this doesn't end badly for either party.
True but when you have kids it's kind of get forfeited so you can't claim back your lobola when we are raising your kids, unregistered with home affairs customary marriages awekho complicated
