The brain has no pain receptors so it's impossible to feel pain due to a surgical implant there. There might be some pain due to removal of part of the skin covering the skull during surgery but not because of the chip itself.

I don't get it. The chip can link the brain to external electronics and can control it, but we can't link the broken circuit in between segment nerves.
They must find a way to bypass the damaged spinal cord. Maybe a network of chip implants in the paralyzed body that activate muscles on demand?
