So you’ve just become a Christian! Congratulations!
The moment you responded to Christ a number of things happened to you...
First, you were given new life. You began a relationship with God that will last forever.
Second, you gained a new status before God. You went from being under God's just condemnation ... to being fully pardoned of all your sins.
Third, you were adopted into a new family as a child of God. You now belong to a huge and incredibly diverse global family.
Fourth, you were given a new job. You now represent Christ with your words and actions to everyone you meet. God wants to grow his family through you!
Fifth, you also have new enemies, so expect trouble. This world will pressure you to conform ... your old nature will betray you ... and the forces of darkness will oppose you.
But, you also have a powerful new ally. The instant you committed your life to Christ, God's Spirit moved in and took up permanent residence in your heart and mind. Allow him to empower and guide you as your journey unfolds, keeping you on the right path.
If you stumble and do wrong, confess it immediately to God, claim His forgiveness, and yield yourself anew to God's Spirit.
It’s impossible to follow Christ in our own strength. Only through the power of God’s Spirit can we become the people God wants us to be.
Jesus explained the difference between success and failure in life when he said, "I am the vine, you are the branches. You cannot be fruitful unless you abide in me."
The productive Christian does not rely on his own efforts; rather, he relies on God's Spirit. As the Apostle Paul wrote, "It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives through me." When a branch is connected to the vine, it just produces fruit naturally!
On the other hand, the unproductive Christian is performance oriented. He tries to be "good enough" by his own grinding self-effort ... but feels guilty because he can never do enough. Trying to live the Christian life in your own strength just makes you miserable!
So ... how do you rely on the Holy Spirit on a daily basis?
First, as soon as you're aware of any sin in your life, confess it to God. Don’t hide and rationalize your disobedience. God is eager to forgive and draw you near again.
Then, recommit yourself - body and soul - in continual, daily surrender to God. Ask his Spirit to guide you and strengthen you. As this Spirit-filled life within you grows, you will be gradually transformed.
You’ll hunger for the truth of God's Word, the Bible. Begin reading it today and invite God's Spirit to teach you as you go. You can start with the Gospel of Mark.
You'll also learn to live in community with other believers. Following Jesus is not something you do in isolation. Get together with other believers to worship, pray, and study the Bible. Remember, each of us is a work in progress, so be patient with the shortcomings of your brothers and sisters, just as God is patient with you.
Following Christ is the adventure of a lifetime. Your day-to-day experience may not get easier; In fact, you may face greater hardships. But you will sense the deep satisfaction of knowing God and enjoying him forever.
    . . . . . . . . . . .. . .
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Thank you very much dr.craig, this message really helped me a lot, I have been going through very difficult tests, not long ago I converted, I have spent about 6 or 5 months at the very feet of Christ, it has cost me a lot to deal with my past nature and all that, with intrusive thoughts and all that, especially because I get carried away by my obsessions, instead of letting myself be guided by the holy spirit, the first time this has happened to me as a Christian, but with these tips they have helped me a lot, many thank you and God bless you.

It is really sad that after being a Christian for 8 years, I am still not able to rely on God fully. I want to, but I always keep on sliding back to this works-based performance mentality and every time I fall into sin I would think God has utterly forsaken me. And I know that my sins have been forgiven but I still keep on recalling back the times when I committed those sins and I would just feel guilty and feel reluctant to approach the throne of grace. But I know this is not how God intended for me to live as a Christian.

William could be "wrong and a grifter" but just saying that proves nothing. Where is your evidence. Also, a cult just means devoted people. It's not bad to be devoted. Calling people a cult has a stigma because some devoted groups are weird and disturbing in their beliefs is all.
I appreciate people thinking for themselves and I think I'm doing that so please help me by providing good arguments with evidential value. I don't believe WLC is about making money. I'm sure he has to make a living and does so by selling books and debating at paid venues. I don't think he even runs a church like those weird word-of-faith churches who you can rightfully accuse and easily prove they are all about the money.
WLC paid a lot of money to go to school to think through issues and I'm just saying that making some money to sell books and do debates can't be bad if people are willing to pay for his educated thoughts on a subject. Even atheists do that.

Dr. Craig played a huge role in my conversion to Christianity even though I disagree with him on many things; but what I find interesting about atheists is actually how they have no arguments, when you look at atheists, they mostly attack believers on a personal level or try to make fun of religion, but why if atheism is really so "intellectually serious", why do almost all atheists have no arguments and no knowledge of the arguments the theists make, it really will never be clear to me.

Accepting Christ as Lord and Savior is an individual issue while living/growing as a Christian is a corporal issue. We grow up, strong, and deep when we do live as a Christian with other Christians. But we cannot do the living without the assisting, enabling, power of the indwelling Spirit of Christ. In the phrase, " for when I am weak, then I am strong", Paul seems to acknowledge a higher power that enables him to endure insults, distresses, persecutions, and difficulties. That power is the power of the risen Savior. Improving ourselves of any areas of our lives can be done in our own strength but to a certain limit; we can go farther with God's power.

A comment from someone who’s been an ex-Christian for a very long time. I’d have expected new Christians to be advised to set aside one, or perhaps two, periods every day to spend by themselves communing with God: praising him, asking him for guidance, asking him for benefits for themselves or for other people. The key word is, of course, ‘prayer’ or ‘private prayer’. In my time as a Christian, this was very strongly emphasised, and there was a lot of advice around on how to do it.
Obviously, it’s not my business to tell Christians how to run their religious lives! But can anyone comment on the almost complete absence of this Christian practice from Dr Craig’s video? (I think the word ‘pray’ was mentioned only once, and then as a group activity.) Were you 21st century Christians as surprised as I was?

Let's not forget that you might not have become a Christian, even if you think you have. Many people believe they became Christians but lose their faith somewhere down the line, only to be told that they "were never a *true* Christian" because *true* Christians don't lose their faith. So if that's what you think of former believers then nobody can ever know if they really are a Christian unless they can predict the future.
So when you see the start of this video and it tells you "So you've just become a Christian...", just remember that you might not have and most of this video doesn't apply.
Have you become a Christian? Who knows? It's a lottery.

Repent of your sins and believe on Adonai Jesus Christ, believe in your heart that He has died for sins and rose from the tomb on the third day and let the Holy Spirit within you, and you shall be saved.
    -
Jesus the Christ loves you, praise YHWH our Elohim
    -
Evidence for Jesus Christ’s existence, crucifixion, and disappearance from the tomb (He rose from it):
The Lord Jesus Christ did exist, gathered disciples, and was crucified and went missing from the tomb. To argue about wether He was taken from the grave or rose from it, is an argument a skeptic can make. Because well if you disregard the eye witness testimony of the disciples and there willingness to die for Christ, and humans won’t die for something they know is a lie, when Peter is pinned upside down to that cross, he could have said that it was a fake, but He didn’t because it wasn’t, what care would he have about death in this world if he knew for a fact he had assurance of a life in another, Jesus Christ did rise from the tomb and is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Now the evidence for the Lord Jesus Christ’s existence really isn’t hard to find a multitude of non-Christian scholars and historians mention Him within 150 years after the time of His life. One such is Tacitus a Roman historian who reported on emperor nero’s decision to blame the Christians for the fire that had destroyed rome in 64 AD. Tacitus wrote:
“Nero fastened the guilt ... on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of ... Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome…”
In this Tacitus makes reference to not only Christians, but Christ calling Him Christus and confirming the Gospels going on to say that He suffered the extreme penalty (crucifixion) under the reign of Tiberius and by the sentence of Pontius Pilate, which like I said confirms the Gospels narrative.
Another important source of evidence about Jesus and early Christianity can be found in the letters of Pliny the Younger to Emperor Trajan. Pliny was the Roman governor of Bithynia in Asia Minor. In one of his letters, dated around A.D. 112, he asks Trajan's advice about the appropriate way to conduct legal proceedings against those accused of being Christians. Pliny says that he needed to consult the emperor about this issue because a great multitude of every age, class, and sex stood accused of Christianity. At one point in his letter, Pliny relates some of the information he has learned about these Christians:
“They were in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verses a hymn to Christ, as to a god, and bound themselves by a solemn oath, not to any wicked deeds, but never to commit any fraud, theft or adultery, never to falsify their word, nor deny a trust when they should be called upon to deliver it up; after which it was their custom to separate, and then reassemble to partake of food - but food of an ordinary and innocent kind.”
This passage provides a number of interesting insights into the beliefs and practices of early Christians. First, we see that Christians regularly met on a certain fixed day for worship. Second, their worship was directed to Christ, demonstrating that they firmly believed in His divinity. Furthermore, one scholar interprets Pliny's statement that hymns were sung to Christ, "as to a god", as a reference to the rather distinctive fact that, "unlike other gods who were worshipped, Christ was a person who had lived on earth." If this interpretation is correct, Pliny understood that Christians were worshipping an actual historical person as God! Of course, this agrees perfectly with the New Testament doctrine that Jesus was both God and man.
You may have heard of the scholar Flavius Josephus who mentioned James as being the brother of the Lord Jesus Christ, which matches what Paul said calling James “The Lord’s brother” and there is another document that Josephus may have written which goes:
“About this time there lived Jesus, a wise man, if indeed one ought to call him a man. For he ... wrought surprising feats.... He was the Christ. When Pilate ...condemned him to be crucified, those who had . . . come to love him did not give up their affection for him. On the third day he appeared ... restored to life.... And the tribe of Christians ... has ... not disappeared.”
Now it’s up to debate wether this is the entirely original document of what Josephus wrote, or if a Christian had edited it. But regardless he wrote about the Lord Jesus Christ. Wether it was negative or positive like the possible document is. Anyways there are many other statements, documents, letters, and writings of all sorts from the ancient world talking about the Lord Jesus Christ and there is not one question if He was a real person or if He was crucified and went missing from the grave. That is clear as day, He is a real person, was crucified, and went missing from the grave. And He did rise from the grave. And for more evidence of the Lord Jesus Christ, there’s the Bible and you see there is no evidence the Bible is corrupted, a lie, created by the Roman government, folktale. It is the recount of the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, now wether you want to believe it is up to you. And what profit was there in spreading Christianity, All the early Christian suffered persecution, beatings, and were killed. Another Scholar reported that James the Lord’s Brother was thrown off a building and then stoned to death for spreading the Gospel in Jerusalem. These people went to great lengths even giving their own lives for the Adon Jesus the Christ.

The psychological and social benefits of religion don't come from the supernatural claims. The benefits come from rubbing shoulders with those who have similar deeply held beliefs as you. While community is important as is presented later in the video, Christianity IS really about the truth. Jesus said that he himself is the Way, the Truth and the Life. So unlike other religions, Christianity is about being related to the PERSON of Christ who is truth himself. The video is spot on by showing that first and foremost, becoming a Christian is starting a relationship with God “that will last forever”. The Christian life flows out of that relationship.

Right, so like I said religions have their talking points and narratives, and no one really knows whether God wants a relationship with human beings.
Do you think God wants a relationship with all human beings? Or some? How do people in non-christian countries factor into this? Parents of one religion usually bring their children up in that religion. Some people do convert to Christianity but some also deconvert from it. Without using the bible how do you know Christ is truth himself, and how do you know you are not just listening to an indoctrinated belief?

Very nice, I'd just add that Confession needs to be not only to God on your own, but to His priests here on earth. And that it should be as thorough as possible by having first examined one's conscience.
Of course, this would entail embracing the fullness of truth only to be found within the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church:
Church Fathers on the Sacrament of Confession/Penance/Reconciliation:
    St. Basil the Great:
“It is necessary to confess our sins to those to whom the dispensation of God’s mysteries is entrusted. Those doing penance of old are found to have done it before the saints. It is written in the Gospel that they confessed their sins to John the Baptist [Matt. 3:6], but in Acts [19:18] they confessed to the apostles” (Rules Briefly Treated 288 [A.D. 374]).
    St. John Chrysostom
“Priests have received a power which God has given neither to angels nor to archangels. It was said to them: ‘Whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever you shall loose, shall be loosed.’ Temporal rulers have indeed the power of binding; but they can only bind the body. Priests, in contrast, can bind with a bond which pertains to the soul itself and transcends the very heavens. Did [God] not give them all the powers of heaven? ‘Whose sins you shall forgive,’ he says, ‘they are forgiven them; whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.’ What greater power is there than this? The Father has given all judgment to the Son. And now I see the Son placing all this power in the hands of men [Matt. 10:40; John 20:21-23]. They are raised to this dignity as if they were already gathered up to heaven” (The Priesthood 3:5 [A.D. 387]).
    St. Ambrose of Milan
“For those to whom [the right of binding and loosing] has been given, it is plain that either both [binding and loosing] are allowed, or it is clear that neither is allowed. Both are allowed to the Church, neither is allowed to heresy. For this right has been granted to priests only” (Penance 1:1 [A.D. 388]).
    St. Augustine
“When you shall have been baptized, keep to a good life in the commandments of God so that you may preserve your baptism to the very end. I do not tell you that you will live here without sin, but they are venial sins which this life is never without. Baptism was instituted for all sins. For light sins, without which we cannot live, prayer was instituted. . . . But do not commit those sins on account of which you would have to be separated from the body of Christ. Perish the thought! For those whom you see doing penance have committed crimes, either adultery or some other enormities. That is why they are doing penance. If their sins were light, daily prayer would suffice to blot them out. . . . In the Church, therefore, there are three ways in which sins are forgiven: in baptisms, in prayer, and in the greater humility of penance” (Sermon to Catechumens on the Creed 7:15, 8:16 [A.D. 395]).
    Didache
“Confess your sins in church, and do not go up to your prayer with an evil conscience. This is the way of life. . . . On the Lord’s Day gather together, break bread, and give thanks, after confessing your transgressions so that your sacrifice may be pure” (Didache 4:14, 14:1 [A.D. 70]).

False. There is no longer a separation between man and God. Direct confession to the Yahweh is all that is required. Please do not put the veil that was torn on Good Friday back into place between the Holiest of Holies and men. It is good to confess to other believers for accountability purposes, but only confession to the Father is needed for reconciliation.

    • @NaruIchiLuffy
      @NaruIchiLuffy Рік тому +1

@@TrueSaint916 It is true that after Baptism there's no longer separation between man and God, and that we become temples of the Holy Spirit. However, when a man commits mortal sin after Baptism, that man by the very definition of mortal sin has willfully turned away from God. He has separated himself by his own choice (knowledge and assent) to partake in what is gravely offensive to God. Thus, the need for the Sacrament of Reconciliation to re-establish our commitment and connection in the life of grace. In Him. In this Sacrament, we who are prideful, humiliate ourselves (by confessing our sins) in front of the priest who acts in the person of Jesus Christ by the power vested in His Priesthood through Apostolic Succession. Christ left this power to His apostles (Mt 18:18 whatever you bind and loose...).
The tearing of the veil in the temple indicated the tearing of the Old Covenant for the New Covenant in Jesus Christ. No longer would God be almost exclusively for the Jewish people (as He was throughout the OT) through the Levitical priesthood. But now through Jesus Christ, the one High Priest, and thus through His Church (the Catholic Church is the Bride of the Bridegroom) for the whole world (Catholic comes from the Gk katholikos = universal). Christ is the head, the Catholic Church the body (Colossians 1:18).
This is of course addressing it without even getting to the summit, which He left for us in the Holy Eucharist. His Body, Soul, Blood, and Divinity under the appearances of bread and wine. Eucharistic miracles, incorruptible saints, His Blessed Mother's apparitions, and so on should help you see that if you open your heart to the truth.
