Fr. I only learned about Earthbound through SSBW, and I first played Earthbound when I was 8, and finished Earthbound at my current age, 16, like, on February 19th of this year. Definitely my favorite game ever, with a beautiful soundtrack, and lovely story and characters. It’s definitely a very humorous game. I’m playing Mother 3, and I’m at the middle of Chapter 4.
When I was a kid playing Brawl for the first time as it came out I had no idea who the heck Ness was or what Earthbound is but I knew one thing for certain... this song is a BANGER!!! I still think this is one of my absolute fav smash remixes that introduced me to an absolutely amazing game series. Thank you Itoi, Iwata, and Nintendo
This music is pure genius. When I hear it in Smash, it feels like some guy screaming to me : "Kick that guy's ass!" while still not being too rough. And the Eight Melodies part...(curls up into a ball and has a nostalgia overload)

I've always loved Onett on ssbm and I'm glad they included it as a Melee stage in Brawl!! The song though is amazing. I think they should keep both Ness and Lucas because they're both main characters of the games in the series. And plus I like Lucas haha. Love the Earth Bound/Mother series

I think they call in the Onett Theme because it's the theme of the Onett stage, and it has more than Bein' Friends incorperated into it, the eight melodies from mother 1, the title theme from mother 1 and the battle theme as well.

The problem with that is Sakurai is keeping the roster exactly the same between both the console and handheld. The only differences would be the stages.
