My little son is 11 years old, he is mute, does not speak and is autistic, he looks at me wanting to tell me something, but I don't understand, I just hug him and I remember that part "Say something"... I LOVE YOU MY Rkz. 😔

This song is about loving someone with a drug addiction and not being able to tap into there mind and set them free, I love someone with a drug addiction, but I also suffer from a drug addiction to. This song has been making me cry for 21 years, maby one day there,ll be happy tears. James are one of the most underrated bands ever, and certainly in my top 3 favourites of all time along with the stone roses and Richard ashcroft /verve 💙💚💛

The uniqueness in James is based on the fact that they were meant to be one of the greatest bands ever. Tim Booth has an absolutely extraordinary voice which take you beyond the experience of being listening a simple melody. James is a gift to every human being on earth. I think what most people don't realise is that mainstream music is very commercial now, it was always a product but now there is a mould to create commerically sucesfull music which minimises risk. You're as tight as a hunter's trap
Hidden well, what are you concealing
    Poker face, carved in stone
    Amongst friends, but all alone
    Why do you hide?
    Say something, say something, anything
    I've shown you everything
    Give me a sign
    Say something, say something, anything
    Your silence is deafening
    Give me a sign
Take a drug to set you free
Strange fruit from a forbidden tree
You've got to come down soon
More than a drug is what I need
    Need a change of scenery
    Need a new life
    Say something, say something, anything
    I've shown you everything
    Give me a sign
    Say something, say something, anything
    Your silence is deafening
    Give me a sign
    Say something, say something, anything
    I've shown you everything
    Give me a sign
    I'm open wide, open wondering
    Have you swallowed everything
    Pay me in kind

My mother said to me if you look in the mirror and you like the person staring back then don’t worry because that’s all that counts . give me a sign
    say something, say something, anything
    your silence is deafening
    pay me in kind
Take a drug to set you free
strange fruit from a forbidden tree
you've got to come down soon
more than a drug is what i need
    need a change of scenery
    need a new life
    Say something, say something anything
    i've shown you everything
    give me a sign
    say something, say something, anything
    your silence is deafening
    pay me in kind
    Say something
    I'm open wide, open wondering
    have you swallowed everything
    pay me in kind.

I've just discovered James, and I love what I'm hearing... but I think I love the lyrics themselves even more. "Say Something" is my favorite by far. Thank You for adding the lyrics here. :)

... someday we'll know but I think it's fair to say this song is just as relevant today as it was when it was in the charts half a lifetime ago. So, while we, and I mean every last one of us who hides behind a screen, a pint, a brew, a card, a pill, a hit, a comment or anything else that brings meaning to our otherwise sad empty little lives keep doing these things, remember one thing. You'll all be empty at the end. As I was recently... Someday the amount of time and energy and effort and resources you (and I) have spent over twenty-five years will leave you staring at the walls wondering where on earth it all went. I'm determined not to be that sad cliché of a person I've seen so many of my (so called) friends and family become. Some of us know what it's like to live our lives with no meaning or control. And you're amazed that we exist. Because we now shine so bright you can't help. Just wonder. Why? Someday we'll know... 📺 🍻 ☕ 💳 #justanothermagicmonday #mycosmicautumnrebellion #maradonamadonnamcgeeandme #letloverule

Thank you James for saying something!
