This song was my childhood. My parents played in when we drove past a forest at night. I was so scared and creeped out so I never listen to the lyrics. Now that I’m older as a tradition I play it only at night. The lyrics are so good I’m so glad I keep doing it.
This song has such a haunting appeal to me. It played through the night as I crossed several state lines driving from New York to Florida in the early 90's. At daybreak when my wife took over driving and I fell asleep for maybe an hour, I was awakened by a horrific rollover doing 70 mph, as my wife had fallen asleep behind the wheel. We almost lost our lives, crashing for more than 760 feet at the Daytona/Ormand Beach county line on I-95 and State Road 40. Despite the almost fatal tragedy, it still remains a beautiful song that still takes me back to that moment in time. The angels were watching over us, and I am grateful.
An absolutely awesome rendition of this is done by Hauser a Croatian cellist whio is gorgeous himself (36 yrs old). If you search this song and type in his name you will see a woman in a red gown on his lap as he “plays” the instrument drawn on her back. Be prepared to fan yourself!

I was young and I didn’t know much about him, all I remember was how he always played this song and he loved it so much. Sometimes he would invite us on his yacht for a trip and this song would play on repeat, through the night and into early morning. My father lost contact with him many years ago, I hope he’s still doing okay. This song reminds me of looking out onto the water with the moon above us, such a peaceful song.

I’m assuming the lyrics on the screen are correct. To double check I went online and typed in “lyrics to Wicked Games.” I checked a couple of places and they both had “don’t” in the second verse. I’m great for not getting lyrics right so if I’m not sure I check online. I’m usually wayyy off base. Figures!!
