The match officials got that wrong. I'm not a Saffer, I'm a Kiwi btw. Bismarck was a great player, almost too good to play at hooker. I don't recall him being involved in dirty stuff, he was just a very hard competitor. I hate when such guys eventually end their careers, I'd like them to play on forever. Thanks for the memories, Bismarck, you're a champion. I love Malcolm Marx, too, he's a man I'd want on the field for the entire 80 minutes. Another tough but fair player.
The red card vs AB was totally unjustifiable. Bismarck played with passion.

The one other occasion other than the hit on DC that sticks in my mind is when Etzebeth swatted him aside in a Super Rugby derby few years back, he played with abrasiveness, road his luck on the edge of legitimacy, and wasn't too shabby with the core skills either, pretty standard when you're in the Boks front row ...

Picking SMIT ahead of BISMARK for the 2011 World Cup was a fatal decision.
Bismark was easily the best #2 in the world and John was getting very slow.
Smit was good but Bismarck was in a league of his own.

Forearm to the base of the neck/shoulder and will knock anyone out. Bismarck over his career has been much more dominant than Eben. Appreciate both.

Who else do you know head butts people in the back of the head on the ground, or eye gouges people, run the ball up with their elbows up elbowing people in the head. He is far from good only memories I actually have of him other than him being a grub is him always losing too us, the all blacks.
