Manta vs Titan! 8000 points per side. This is a modern retelling of the Damocles Crusade! We wanted to use the latest units, weapons, and Titans. There is a Manta. There is a Reaver Titan. There is the T'au, Ultramarines, Iron Hands, and Astra Militarum.
Special thanks to our guests Lauren and Zach! These two were instrumental in helping these massive forces move across the battlefield and for rolling all the dice necessity for the carnage and destruction in this game. It was a ton of fun with both of you.

I'd love to see the expression on that single Tech Marine's face as the entire arsenal of a manta all point towards him.
It was at this moment that he realized, he fucked up
Its like that scene in star wars. Where the new order tried to shoot obi wan.
@@friedaiceborn1663 Unfortunately, the tech marine had no force projection ability to protect him.
I kind of want to see what killed him and how many total Wounds he took from that barrage.
Its like "I'm to old for this shit"...then evaporates.
@@pascalr.9836 I like to imagine that the manta crew just hung back because the Commander kept forgetting to order them to do stuff and then see this single marine and go "you know what, eff this guy"
Tonite on POT gear: Nick finally uses his massive Manta to commit several different kinds of petty crimes, Lauren hijacks a Titan much to the annoyance of a tech priest and Zach rolls enough dice to make the ork players feel jealous.
so here as well
@@iglusmulmus5171 yes
Nice to see you here!
hello there jeremy clarkson 2.0
I can see how it would be easy to forget about the Manta, it's almost like a piece of terrain.
Seeing the smile on Nick's face when he realizes he still has the Manta left in the Shooting phase is just priceless. It's like a child seeing their favorite candy on sale.
Man, I love when the Primaris are so good, they show up 260 years early
Because this is supposed to be first contact with the Tau?🤭
That's some warp time shenanigans
To be fair, some of the suits, such as the stormsurge, also weren't around yet.
dw, time warp fuckery makes it all canon
You guys should get someone with a big Thousand Sons collection on the channel to do the Burning of Prospero at some point! A huge amount of TSons vs a bunch of Space Wolves and Custodes would be super cool!
I will always vote for more custodes content. Please emperor let them win once in awhile….
Interesting….
@@sauceover well if your going by imperial records the custodies have never lost.
Yes, yes, yes please, i love the thousand sons, that would be awesome. Sorry just a bit of fanboying here, just started with them as my first army.
Another thing should be the siege of Baal. Would love to see chaos and imperium vs tyranids
Love how close it was. That poor techmarine XD
And that apothecary... I don't think there is anything left of the two
Love the mix between normal more "competitive" games of 40k and big fluffy thematic battles that you guys do. Play on!
tabletop
Honesty nothing better than coming home from a hard long day at work to seeing a new play-on video
Truth bomb
I gotta wonder how different this game goes if Imperium goes first, with that Reaver being at full power. Good stuff!
The sheer amount of 1s Tau Nick rolled in this game make me wonder if Space Marine Steve threw his dice in an oven to sabotage them, if anyone gets my meaning. He may want to get a replacement set just in case.
Nah, Steve's "luck" is just contagious.
And then Steave rolled all 1s and 2s on melee and did nothing xD And before that, that one vanquisher volley that just whiffed...
I was the same when I played Tau. Haven't gone back to them since I played them in 7th.
The second I heard Cato sakarius all I could hear was the Emperor tts voice for him
Love seeing games this size because we finally get to see those Titans on the table, absolutely awesome content guys, still one of the best channels for tabletop content 🤟
Need more large battles like this with guest players.
Were about to film another!
I need more Tau. Maybe Tau Nick vs Cult Nick Narrated by Nick. If we can work in Rebel Nick, I will take it! Everything will auto explode.
Still waiting for Space Marine Steve vs Chaos Marine Steve with a mustache narrated by Steve! if we could work in Storm Trooper Steve, I will take it.
It's extremely fortunate that Nick is a big Tau guy - that'll be my first 40k (and wargaming in general) army, so I'm learning a lot
I also learned NOT to split fire
Okay but...splitting fire worked.
I don't know, maybe "don't split fire" is just kind of a meme.
@@Bluecho4 it fails alot more than it works. Focusing fire remove threats from the board it's overall alot better than splitting.
@@bradleyhall1815 there is a place for splitfire-ing
Railgun everything. Win. Thats my philosophy
Yes I'm looking at tau to be my first too
I like how this one is alot more spread out! Makes it feel alot more realistic seeing units be able to maneuver! Great batrep guys!
If they ever decide to get into Age of Sigmar in a major way, I’d love to see the siege of Lethis in this style. Just a tidal wave of ghosts versus the forces of Sigmar.
That sounds epic dude
they did, like a year ago
This battle was awesome! Thanks everyone! Also, it would be cool to see some of the new Aeldari being featured in games like this, due to their recent update- maybe Tau vs Aeldari. :)
Everytime they said Cato Sicarius all I could think of was TTS Cato Sicarius
I, CATO SICARIUS, ALSO THINK OF TTS CATO SICARIUS WHENEVER I, CATO SICARIUS, SEE THE NAME CATO SICARIUS OR I, CATO SICARIUS, HEAR THE NAME CATO SICARIUS.
Nick "I want that twink obliterated."
Manta "Yes sir!"
Man, that ending. Talk about both a close call *and* a turnabout.
Amazing.
And as usual: Great production quality, Tycho really nailing it as a narrator and great game by everyone.
Fun as always!
Well it was close until they remembered the Manta lol.
Techmarine never had a chance.
Another fantastic video. Tycho is doing such a great job this season.
Epic! Loved the drama, the scenery and just how much fun you all had. Thank you for an awesome spectacle!
Awesome very entertaining. It would be interesting to see an army that actually has an answer for all the Tau shooting. It feels like if the Tao go first half of the other army is already dead before they can even breath. As much as I’m usually taking the piss out of SM Steve, it was very satisfying to see the dice on his side for a change even if it was a loss. Humanity first!
WHAT A GAME! Love how close and competitive it was, plus seeing a representation of one of my favorite pieces of 40K lore was awesome. Thanks for the great content, guys!
Broken sword is lit, it's also twinned with a story of a raven guard being broken and squeezed for info by a Tau mind control auxillary and just barely fighting back at the end, after they already got tons of useful information
Absolutely outstanding! Loved every second of it
First ever battle report of any miniatures game ever XD. I had no clue what was going on, but I really enjoyed the large/narrative style and everything looks so cool! Definitely want to check out more.
The effects are always my favorite and I’m always on the edge of my seat. Thank you for doing such a great job PlayOnTableTop!
This literally gave me chills...top work gentlemen.
Absolutely insane, truly on another level. I've actually never seen anything so clean and polished. Left me speechless
Fantastic battle, really touch and go. I really love the narrative elements, voiceovers and extra visual and sound effects. It makes it look and feel on the screen like it does in your head while you're playing 🤘
Best game of the year, love Tycho's commentaries ! Thanks guys
This was BEYOND awesome!! Amazing video, love what you guys do!
I love when Farsight and his crew of outcast warriors have access to the latest and greatest walking fortresses.
Woah, this is EPIC! Great job, guys!! 😁
Great battle report as always guys! Always fun to watch.
One little thing bugging me though....
It's a Xenos vs Imperium grand battle... don't you think there was room for a Deathwatch detachment in the Imperium soup?
Just straight awesome! Well done !
What a good level of editting, the weapon firing effect is exceptional!!
i love watching these battles, the narration gets better with each one. i really love seeing how each model is painted. it gives me ideas for painting my own stuff. i just wish the game wasnt so expensive to get into
Invest in a 3d printer and the game gets cheap
Cato Sicarius: I, Cato Sicarius, am the knight champion of maccragge and as such no foul xenos could ever hope to outmatch my legendary swordsmanship skills!
Y'vahra: K [triggers the Ionic discharge cannon control]
This was such a good battle! Thank you for this!
I kept on hearing "it is I, Cato Sicarius" whenever they mentioned Cato Sicarius
I'm so glad I've been ruined by the Emperor's TTS 🤣
Best match you guys have done! Love to see the tau finally crush the imperium!!!
Beautiful board, minis, and editing. Very nice match!
Loved Nick’s Tau role playing. His attitude screams “greater good” but he was always quick to let Lauren know when his inferior rolls are a shame to the higher cast. Truly great RP to go with a great battle.
Love the cinematic battles!
Brilliant Battle! Beautiful scenery and cinematography to boot!
Fantastic game with a narrow finish! Hope to see more features, because you all seem to enjoy them as much as i do.
HOOOOLD ON!
Primaris units... during the Damocles Gulf Crusade?? That's it, my immersion is ruined and my disappointment is immesurable 🤣
Nah, just kidding, fantastic battle, I'm surprised it wasn't Apocalipse.
I can’t help but hear “ I Cato sicarius” whenever he’s mentioned lol.
That has got to be one of the coolest battles I've seen you guys do. PLAY ON
Just getting into 40K and Im loving this! Sooo exciting!
That was awesome! 😮 Thanks guys
Excellent battle report! Love this narrative campaign. Good job POT team! :)
I practically don't play, but your videos are awesome. You have a lot of fun, the off-screen speaker and the subsequent animations and radio traffic really make this an experience worth seeing.
Lauren "The Defier" For the Tau once again defies the might of the Imperium Holding their homeland for the greater good.
Congratulations Tau's and very well played game. Really love this big scale warfare
This is the coolest battle report in Play On history!
Wow, this was epic! And it really recreates the Damocles well. :)
The board is truly amazing! Well played!
Amazing editing and storytelling as expected!!!!
That was an awesome battle. I love your narrative and super large and crazy battle reports. Khorne is pleased with the amount of death and destrucition wrought this day.
This battle was so intense that they ran out of room! new nickname- Play on Tablecloth! Love this, and thank you for producing such great content😀
Wow Play on gets better & better with each episode, :) thank you for great channel!
This was mind blowing-ly amazing!!!
Great Battlereport love it !!
This table is f*** amazing!!
I absolutely love this chnnl I miss playing tabletop games so bad thank you for all the awesome tables and epically painted pieces
What an epic game! Watching those big boys in action was very fun. Always wanted to see a Ta'unar being played in a game.
Loved every minute of it!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was a special one, well done Play On.

"Nick is still a dork"
You mean the BEST!
That was really fun to watch.
This is so freaking cool! Just keeps getting better 😅
I have NO IDEA what anything is here but gawd dayum if I dont enjoy some mini wargaming and thematic battlefields! Love the video and I hope to see more!!
Awesome battle report!
Errrr, i dunno, the manta, in a vacuum, seems excellent!... however on tabletop
This ending was epic! Very close battle, good job from all players.
2:20 it was here that i laughed at how many times you said it was here ! LOL
Gorgeous table, great battle.
I think this is my favorite battle report on the channel !!!
Absolutely fantastic, great game, and as a Tau player it’s epic to see all those models on the board! 🥹😍🐟
lol the railgun shot at the guardsman 10/10
I was on the edge of my seat watching this, and I was impressed that the T'au got the W in this thematic battle.
That manta did some work
This was absolutely an amazing battle! The Tau are wild!
How the Tau ever will survive against the imperium is beyond me. But I like playing the underdog.
I love these really big point games, I hope ya'll make a few more of them.
We’ve made several!
@@PlayOnTabletop And I've been watching! but I'm about to run out lol.
Great game guys an insane amount of models it was good to see them on the table
Friendly reminder that during the Damocles Crusade, the Tau did not yet possess Ghost Keels, Crisis Suits, Manta's, Tigersharks, or Tau'Nar in their arsenal.
They were fighting with Devilfish, Hammerheads, some basic battle suits. Infantry, and some of their smaller bombers and aircraft. Thats it.
Still was enough to keep the Imperium from conquering even a single Tau Sept world. The Imperium blasted through a few merchant worlds, resource worlds, and a half baked Tau Orbital defense station.
But when they reached their first Tau Sept world where the Tau were amassed in force, and had a much larger fleet waiting for them, they got absolutely pounded. They managed to take a SINGLE city, but then realized they had lost so much strength that they couldn't keep going.
The Imperium lost millions of guardsmen, thousands of vehicles, 100's of Space Marines, and dozens of ships. The Commander basically said "man fuck this shit, it ain't worth it. We out of here."
And the Tau were gracious enough to let the Imperium retreat through their space, even though they could've flanked them from behind with fleets and wiped them out as they fell back.
Now imagine if the Tau had everything available to them today!
The Imperium wouldn't have even been able to land forces on the ground of a Tau homeworld, let alone take any major cities. They would've gotten annihilated before they reached that point.
I love the narratives on this game.
op firepower into a bottleneck... not really a surprise ending. it was only bad rolls and extremely smart play and movement that made it close.
also Zach should of had a hat, he would look perfect as a commissar lol
GGs and great work by everyone involved!
This, was, amazing! Stellar production quality as always. Well done as always Play On! I wonder, with the massive scale, ever think of doing the other end in scale? Maybe some kill team? =O
Best battle yet, can’t wait to play a game this big :)
Awesome work!
I love all the Tau terrain!
Awesome game guys! EPIC!
That was truly epic!
This game was awesome! I have no idea about Warhammer rules, but it was all still very gripping. Love these type of videos, clearly a lot of work goes into it.
Loved this and now I really want to see some sort of Tag team tournament like 4000 points teams can’t use the same army and they share a pool of Command points.
