Love your videos. Just ordered a Z530R to be delivered Friday. I went from a 300 to a 500 based on your videos. Cutting 2+ acres. Keep up the good work.
Good point! I should have been more specific when I was talking about linkages and mentioned the steering linkages as well. Do you have a 4 wheel steer?
They usually have the HD Lithium Complex grease and that is usually what is recommended but if you switch to another grease you shouldn't have issues. Does this help?
a winter project i am going to do is take apart the spindles and remove inner seals and pack the grease then re-assemble and grease the crap out of them .
*Are the zerk nipples DIN or SAE?* I have the John Deere *S100* and the spindle zerk fittings are inside a plastic cover with a tight 2.5" wide X 1.5" tall access opening with very limited maneuverability and the *zerk fitting is 3.75" deep inside.* If the pop-on/off grease gun *coupler tip gets stuck on, which happened to me,* there isn't enough angle to maneuver it off. I actually ended up bending the gun shaft and was able to return it for a refund. I could not get the flexible hose with coupler tip on because it was too flexible and the fit was too tight. I also had trouble getting the coupler/tip on and off the other zerk fittings on the front wheel spindles and bushings. I am familiar with greasing zerk fittings etc.and never had this much trouble before. I am looking into *extended locking and easy release couplers or needles* , but the longest shaft is 3.15" and then the lock lever would be in that tight window.
Hilarious trying to grease sealed bearings or open bearings....if its a open bearing its gonna take alot of grease....hoping the seals dont blow out before the grease packs the bearings if its open pack accordingly if its sealed grease want go in it
You could over grease some deck spindles and blow out the seals of the top of the bearings, but more than likely that won't happen. Especially if you make sure to feel for that pressure at the handle when greasing.
Never would I give up my Craftsman turn tight series tractor for any John Deere..the craftsman is the superior build I went through both brands in 2021 before I bought the Craftsman turn tight series tractor
I’ve been running a z530m and it’s been fantastic but to be fair it is my first zero turn or ride on in general so I may have just not experienced what it could be
It's amazing how many people don't or have never greased their Tractors. I see it all the time.
Good video, Thank you
Outstanding narrating as usual. Appreciate the detailed information, tips, and Tricks.
Thank you! I hope it was helpful!

Only thing you left out is HOW MUCH grease to put in each, and how do I tell if I have put in correct amount ?
Thanks

Thanks I just needed a reminder.
You’re welcome! Is it time to grease yours?
How does greasing do anything to sealed berring??
I couldn't find the link you spoke of about the spindles (~3:15) video you said would be in the description below. Could you help me find it, please.
Thank you for the video. Blessings to you.

Another good maintenance video 👍
Thank you! Was it helpful to you?

Good point! I should have been more specific when I was talking about linkages and mentioned the steering linkages as well. Do you have a 4 wheel steer?
@@WesternEquipment ya my x724 is a 4 wheel steer.
What is the grease used for John Deere S110. I read there is incompatibility between Polyurea and Lithium.
They usually have the HD Lithium Complex grease and that is usually what is recommended but if you switch to another grease you shouldn't have issues. Does this help?
@@WesternEquipmentIt helped me 🤙
S240 48 " John Deere Riding Lawnmower How do You Get to the Grease Fitting in Front Underneath Front Bumper 🤔
Where are the links for the grease guns you was talking about cannot find them
There should be 4 links in the description for the video. Are you not seeing them?
How tight do the little wheels on the deck on a tractor style mower need to be? Mine seem a little loose.
With sealed bearings in the deck spindles does the grease every actually make it to the bearings?
No. I think it's a useless feel good zerk that in actuality does zippity do.
a winter project i am going to do is take apart the spindles and remove inner seals and pack the grease then re-assemble and grease the crap out of them .
as someone who just bought his first riding mower, and has never broached this subject, a demonstration would have been helpful.
Just purchased 2 new spindles for JD X300. How much grease do I add in these new spindles? thanks
I'm using Lucas red grease is that a good choice?
Yeah, that should be fine. Was this video helpful for you?
@@WesternEquipment Yes very much so, Thank you!
What grease recommend for the z300 models?

I just bought a new lawn tractor, not a John Deere but nothing was greased on it. Now i have greased everything on it that needs grease
Great video and informative informative!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
sealed bearing in the spindles ?
How many grease zeros on a X330
Why doesn’t the new John Deere 2024 s130 have grease zeros on front wheels
Can you please post a video on how to adjust idle creep on a Z5 series?
I will see what I can do! Thanks for the suggestion!
Funny thing is most important part of your mower to grease does not have grease zerks... Spindles...😮
Common sense is good to have. But most rich folks lack it😂
Hilarious trying to grease sealed bearings or open bearings....if its a open bearing its gonna take alot of grease....hoping the seals dont blow out before the grease packs the bearings if its open pack accordingly if its sealed grease want go in it
Why does no one actually show *how* to grease??
People talk about it.. no one actually shows doing it
Here comes EGO absolutely
What do you mean?
Can you over grease these points?
You could over grease some deck spindles and blow out the seals of the top of the bearings, but more than likely that won't happen. Especially if you make sure to feel for that pressure at the handle when greasing.
Are you a teacher?
Just a marketing Con Job we all know john deere lawn and garden tractors are trash..
Which ones have you had that you had problems with?
Well I have run mine hard for 5 years and it's a champ. S240. Great mower that has never once let me down.
