An aerial video of Gortahork, Co Donegal Filmed and edited by Proinsias Carr Facebook.com/aerialviewsdonegal All shot with a DJI Phantom 3 Professional
Hi, I’m a US American. I’m related to Gallaghers as well, but I’m not sure where they’re from. My paternal great grand father was from Gort a' Choirce, Donegal. His name: Ó Dubhthaigh/Duffy Other relative surnames are Henry of Co. Sligo, Cunningham, McGee’s and McGinley’s of An Fál Carrach (Falcarragh) It’s really cool to see where some of them came from. As I understand, some of them left because of really desperate situations.
Hiya! That's cool that yours are from the same town. I'm related to a Jane Gallagher, that moved from Gortahork to Pennsylvania. She married a Scotsman and they both moved over. According to what I know about that area is that it's very rural and the town is very small. So they probably moved for a better life for their families and to get away from the turmoil going on at the home front and all.
Very nice video! Thanks for posting.
This is where the Gallaghers that I'm related to came from. Looks absolutely beautiful!
