I read (and loved) The Hobbit for the first time when I was 9 years old. For me, that was a good age for it (and reread three times since then). Don't be afraid of The Lord of the Rings they are nt gruesome or gory! Two childrens classics that I really enjoyed this year were "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett and "Heidi" by Johanna Spyri. A lot of childrens classics are still good!
I’m reading Anne of Green Gables again! It’s a classic! Missing home and I came across it at a book store here in Melbourne. My sign to buy it 😂 Always loved it and always will.
In high school my English teacher accepted Harry Potter as classic book and I still find it weird. And obviously HP will be a classic. I'm in no way saying Harry Potter isn't beloved and isn't on its way to becoming a classic but to me a classic is an older book, at least 30 years old, that we still read and enjoy and like you said has an impact. I'm from NB and Anne of Green Gables is a classic and I loved the original mini series.
I think Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller might be a classic one day. I feel like a lit teacher could do a cool comparative reading study between how the Trojan War is portrayed in a classic like The Iliad versus a more contemporary book like Song of Achilles.

My dad read all of the books in the Anne of Green Gables series to me when I was a kid and I absolutely loved it!

The Hunger Games I feel is a good contender for a future classic.
I very much doubt it. The story is decent but it's not particularly well written.
Have you read a dark and drowning tide? Its a sapphic gothic fantasy i rlly would love to see u doing a review on it!!

It’s a great book
Ejaculate, other than the obvious meaning, was (in the 19th Century) commonly used to mean 'exclaim, blurt out'.
