The soundtrack of Celestial Realm combines warriorism and bravery with feminimism and delicate, empathetic, somewhat solemn feelings to fit the high-stakes adventures of Wukong and the Monk as they go west in search of old scriptures. This game's theme music encapsulated Wukong's story and was used to emotionally illustrate the game's final journey (when all bosses were defeated).
Yeah, they used the theme song of the TV series called "Xi you ji"_ journey to the west in English in this game and re-edited a bit. I prefer the original one, especially with the sound of "deng deng deng" at the beginning. No music fit the story of Sun WuKong better than it.
It tells the life story of everyone from birth to life long adventures and from being unknown to being famous and glorious. Eventually everyone faces the TIAN MING which can be explained as fate of death. However your achievement will inspire the next generations who would be as great as you.

Every time the string section comes in, the music evokes an expansive sense of a vast landscape (adventure) unfolding in front of the protagonists.
I am truly happy to hear this song again after almost 30 years as the black myth was just released.
200 IQ choice
Music is truly an art that transcends time, history, and culture. Even if you have never watched Journey to the West, you will still be moved by its music decades later. It is so magical.
I am amazed you can understand that much by just listening to this theme music. Kudos to you.
This will be played in the final animated video when players finish the game in the true ending route. It's kinda like a gift for Journey to The West fans.
This song is using for the ending of the video game. It’s for review the whole life of Sun Wukong.
The Star War theme music among Asian Countries.
This is sound for most of Asian kids childhood in late 80s and early 90s. Glad the world is rediscovering it.
3:57 the sound represents everytime WuKong flys around in his somersault cloud and travelling hundreds of thousands of miles, as well as his love for exploring the world and enjoying his freedom! The sound plays when WuKong literally jumped out the rock where he was born in the intro back in the 80s JTW TV show!
This theme plays during the ending cut scene if you get the true ending. A more somber version of it plays during the fight with the final boss
You are so correct that this is not the title screen music. I'm not gonna spoil which fight this piece of music belongs to but I actually broke out in tears when the melody comes in. WHAT A MASTERPIECE!
This is what one would call a tribute or a love song to the ones that came before us.
It was an underrated masterpiece.
I used to dismiss this piece because it was too familiar. Today, through the eyes and ears of foreigners, I realized that I had grown up in the classics without knowing it.
My hair stood on ends when I heard the iconic music from the 80s tv show I watched. What a ride to relive the memories from a RPG in 2024
Hi Davi, thank you for your analysis!
FYI, this remake of the 1986 theme appears as the background music of the game's true ending (which I won't spoil, but I'm sure UA-cam has cutscene posts and even analysis of what the cutscenes mean), so it is even more uplifting and exciting in context.
Tribute to composer Xu Jingqing. The power of music is too powerful! Gives the magic of the Journey to the West culture! Let the music of Journey to the West stay in everyone's mind like a taste, and every melody has a picture... It symbolizes the great spirit of ancient Chinese mythology
The electric sound reminds me of when I was a kid in school. Every time they played this show, all the kids would go 'do do do! do do do!' and jump around like Wukong.😂😂😂
Thanks for sharing! I see your cute face appearing to reflect the happiness and surprise when hearing an amazing song!
The OST is the main theme from series show Journey To The West is the story of the trip and difficulties Wukong encountered, then Black Myth Wukong is the legend continues after his return from West Heaven.... They are very related
This OST just shouts "Y'all better watch out 'cause here I come!" just in a ye older chinese fantasy way
Thank you for your high-praise of this theme which means a lot to us.
In fact, we Chinese have other energetic, explosive music to share with the world. Just too many. Here are some samples.

I got so emotional listening to this melody from my childhood that I am literally have tears in my eyes
OHHHH finally, glad to see this video about Wukong.
Every few years me n my family spent time watching Journey To The West during Chinese New Year. We never get bored with it.
I learn traditional Chinese instrument, the string instrument used in the music is “pipa” and wind instrument are called “suo na” and Chinese flute.
Very professional explanation on the musical part. It’s just a part memory for Chinese born after 1985. Very old melody
Literally I’m having goosebumps now
Long before Dragon Ball, chinese cinema had made film versionS of JTTW . Back then, they didnt have the softwares to create the special effects for the action scenes , just some creative thinking n camera tricks to do it.
This theme song is rearrangement of the 1986 chinese TV show theme song for full symphony orchestra
I guess the developers of Wukong are paying tribute to the old TV series main theme and its composer. It's their childhood too...kudos to all of them.
Good review of an excellent music.
My 23 year old son loved this melody when he was 6!!! He always grabbed a stick to pretend he was WuKong whenever he heard this music.😂😂
This is the reason why we love DBZ. Because of this inspiring true OG wukong Monkey King! But I grew up watching DBZ before getting introduced to Wukong later that inspired DBZ.
I have created a video that covers the entire process of running the game "Black Myth Wukong", hiding bosses, and collecting valuable items.
Diu diu diu ~🎉
Yeah, they used the theme song of the TV series called "Xi you ji"_ journey to the west in English in this game and re-edited a bit. I prefer the original one, especially with the sound of "deng deng deng" at the beginning. No music fit the story of Sun WuKong better than it.
Burst into tears.
When I hear this song, I remember my childhood when I watched it with my dad 🔥
It tells the life story of everyone from birth to life long adventures and from being unknown to being famous and glorious. Eventually everyone faces the TIAN MING which can be explained as fate of death. However your achievement will inspire the next generations who would be as great as you.
