How to make the newest version of the driver work with firefox? Whenever I open firefox with the newest driver, it crashes after a few seconds. Maybe an issue with vaapi? I don't know. I can use firefox "normally" if I disable hardware acceleration. But I want to have it enabled so that videos and websites are smooth.
Hi, I did 'dkms status' and it says the previous driver 'broken' and the latest drive 'installed' which is great but is there a way of removing the old driver without removing the new driver?
What if you try to regenerate initramfs: mv /boot/initramfs-$(uname -r).img /boot/initramfs-$(uname -r).img.bak dracut /boot/initramfs-$(uname -r).img $(uname -r) Could you then post your "dkms status" output here? This NVIDIA uninstaller should remove whole NVIDIA installation. So using it, it's not possible to remove specific version.
Maybe, I made once guide for GNOME 40, when only GNOME 3.xx was available. I have to do some testing if it's possible to update my old guide. I also tested KDE 6 for Debian 12, but missing some dependencies and can't build it, so GNOME 46 might be the same. Almost all dependencies are possible build, but real problem all other packages which depends on different versions.
I'm not Steam user, but I think that Steam doesn't work with Wayland, so x11 should be better. New NVIDIA 555.xx beta drivers have explicit sync, but it's not widely supported yet.
Not bad idea, arch is well maintained and have almost always newest drivers available, but of course manual installation is also possible for arch users.
Hello, I have a problem installing your driver. I wanted to send you an error log, but your form on the site does not allow this. I click send and nothing happens. I also couldn’t find any contact information on the website, so I’m writing here.
Could you paste your error log to pastebin or similar service and send link here? What NVIDIA driver version you're installing and what's your hardware?
@inttf Unfortunately, pastebin also refused to accept such a volume of text. That's why I'm sending you the files. with the number 1 it is KDE Neon, and with the number 2 it is Kubuntu. In two cases the system does not boot. we . tl / t-40e9tyVXWr I'm trying to put 340.108. the system is like this - Linux Aspire-7738G 6.5.0-35-generic #35~22.04.1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Tue May 7 09:00:52 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux EFI variables are not supported on this system 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GT216M [GeForce GT 240M] (rev a2)
@@inttf please tell me should I expect help from you or not? I'm not in a hurry, I'm just wondering whether you will help me or not. As for the log, I uploaded two of them, as I hope you understand. One of them is almost 2 megabytes in size. This is provided that there is just text. That's why I sent you the logs that your drivers made. And I doubt that at least one site will accept such a volume of code. UA-cam does not allow you to insert links, so in my last message you need to remove the spaces and there will be a working link. I hope very much for your help!
when i do dkms status it literally says nothing and goes to new cmd line.
Do you have NVIDIA drivers installed successfully and you registered it with dkms?

Firefox support for NVIDIA + Wayland is unfortunately bit awful. I check this soon is there anything to do for this.
hey there, what will happen if i turned on secure boot after successful updating graphic driver
It won't load your kernel modules anymore.
@@inttf thanks for replying me

More inportantly how are the new drivers? Foes this fix the Steam issues I still have to this day?
