  • Lincolnshire Women and Girls Network presents: 'Reducing the Weight of Reoffending and Addiction for Women: Centring Women's Voices in Desistance and Recovery.
    Our first seminar for the Lincolnshire Women and Girls Research Network will explore the needs of women who are experiencing or proximate to processes of stopping reoffending (desistance from crime) and recovery from addiction. The seminar will comprise of three papers, including guest speaker Dr Linnéa Österman from the University of Gothenburg, which each examine the impacts of desistance and recovery for women, and the consequent support needs and barriers in practice. The session will include space for discussion and exploration of how to best support women's in relation to desistance and recovery in practice.
    Confirmed speakers and paper titles:
    Dr Linnéa Österman, from the University of Gothenburg, will present her research on 'The role of social and emotional capitals in female desistance'
    Dr Lyndsey Harris and Dr Lauren Hall from the University of Lincoln will present their research on 'Desistance Emotional Work: Understanding the implications of men's desistance on women - lessons for practice'.
