Freddie Aguilar - Anak [Official Lyric Video with Chords]
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 лют 2015
- Lyric video of the song "Anak" as recorded by Freddie Aguilar. A Pinoy folk-rock classic, "Anak," was a big hit in the Philippines in the 70's after winning the Metropop songwriting tilt and eventually became a phenomenal hit around the world and made a star out of singer-songwriter Freddie Aguilar. Recorded a couple of times and sung in many languages (German, Japanese, English etc..)) "Anak" can now be heard as theme music in the 2015 movie "Gangnam Blues" starring Korean movie star Lee Min Ho.
Lyric video includes basic guitar chord guides.
LYRICS:
No'ng isilang ka sa mundong ito
Laking tuwa ng magulang mo
At ang kamay nila ang 'yong ilaw
At ang nanay at tatay mo'y
'Di malaman ang gagawin
Minamasdan pati pagtulog mo
'Di man sila payag, walang magagawa
Nalaman mong ika'y nagkamali
Pagsisisi ang sa isip mo't
Nalaman mong ika'y nagkamali
Pagsisisi ang sa isip mo't
Nalaman mong ika'y nagkamali

To all the non-Filipino listeners of this song, the song is basically telling a story of a certain child (well it's our story, as we are at one point in our lives are/were children to our parents) as he/she discovers his/her own direction in life growing up. It tells of the sacrifices parents took and went through to raise the child, the hopes of our parents that we take the right path in our lives and make the right decisions.
As the child grow up, he/she is set to inevitably make mistakes and wrong decisions that hurt the parents, learning very hard lessons in life and ultimately realizing and finally making amends to the disregarded parents albeit a little too late.
This song talks about the everyday sweet and bitter realities of parent-child relations. It talks about LIFE.

Hello world. I heard this song for the first time in my life in the year 1980 when i was a sea engineer. We came to the dock that afternoon
in Manila. When all works ware finished, we have decide to go out have some fun with the colleagues. That mesmerizing night, when i heard this song coming from a night club, was playing from a live band, was and still after about 45 years is, like an arrow in my heart.
Although i didn't understand a single word of the song, tears came from my eyes. The singer saw me crying, and looking in my eyes he starts crying too. As im typing these words cant still stop crying. We became friends with the band, and during our stay in Manila for 10 days, went every day to that club. As i can play also a little of guitar we had so much fun with those boys playing together. I learned also some words of the song ANAK, and they told me about Freddy Aguilar. After some years i heard the lyrics also in English, and then was a real bomb in my heart. I listen always to this lovely master piece.

Wonderful song. So moving. I first heard this song in 1987 in Mumbai, India as a young bachelor - listing to a song which was so soulful and moving - but without understanding even a word of it or knowing which language it was sung in. Over the years, the song was heard by my family and I came to know as to what a big hit song this one is. Still love it - after 36 years. Love from India.

This is indeed the signature song of Freddie Aguilar. He wrote this song as a remorseful and regretful apology to his parents about what he had done bad after being involved in bad vices, dropping out of post-secondary, and running away from home with just his acoustic guitar. When his parents heard the song he wrote, his parents reconciled.

we were once a happy family. But as the time passes by, everything around me crumbled. My dad left us with another family. in a months later my mom passes away by my side. i a few years also, learned that my father died. Sadly, my younger brother Chito died in an accident. I was only 15 when my 3- sisters went abroad and i haven't seen them since they left 18 years ago. And now that i am getting older, there moment that i miss those happy days with them.
And if i only have the chance of going back in time. I prefer to have that moment , being with them, and i will look at their faces and hug them to tell them i miss you all so much.
How I wished that we're never born this way. To be happy just to feel the pain of missing your love ones and myself one day.

Not many songs can bring a grown man to tears and this is one of them; I guess it's fair to say childhood is usually a person's most memorable period in life, because it's worry-free for the most part and all your family members, including and especially your parents are in their primes, you also get to see your parents's parents even, and someday, for some of us, we become grandparents as well; Freddie Aguilar is simply amazing in writing this masterpiece.
Lyrics:
When you were born in this world
Your parents were full of joy
And their arms are your light
And your mother and father
Don't know what to do
Watches over you, even in your sleep
And in the night your mother is sleepless,
In preparing your milk
And in the morning you are in the laps
Of your father, who is so joyful because of you
And now, you are all grown up
You desire to be independent
Even if your parent forbid, they can't stop you
And then you suddenly changed
You became stubborn
And you disobeyed their advices
You didn't took the time to realize
that what they are doing is for you
For you only follow your own pleasure
So you ignored them
And the days have passed
And you have lost your way
You've become imprisoned in a horrible vice
And you first approached
Your crying mother,
And she asked "Child, why did you become like that?"
And your eyes immediately shed tears
Without you noticing
You regret it when you realized
That you've made a mistake.
You regret it when you realized
That you've made a mistake.
You regret it when you realized
That you've made a mistake.
😘😘😘
daghang salamat Kuya!
🤧
I would replace the "follow your own pleasure" with "follow your own will". Anyway, it's a great translation

Singular "CHILD" referred to either son or daughter.
In Filipino:
Anak - Son/Daughter
Bata - kids/children
@@reyron9743 Anak can also mean kids/children for example 'magaling ng mga anak ko' which means 'my kids are smart'.
I don't understand a bit of word of this song but this song is so calming to listen.
If I may, I’ll try to give you the theme about what this this song is all about , in my own interpretation. Anak means Child or it Can be Son/ Daughter. The song relates the sacrifices of parents especially a mother ,rearing her child in ungodly hours as a baby. Time went by and the child got older and the parents spend endless hours advising him to do the right ways of life but he wanted his freedom, his independence. He then went against all their advise. He has chosen the wrong path and at the end he realized his mistake and made amends to his distraught mother and repented. There you have it. A lesson learned the hard way, I guess, but in reality it’s a process of growing up and we all go through this process.
Freddie is actually my great grandmother's brother(brother of Isidra de Jesus) I hope that I could travel to the Philppines and sing this song for my cousins to remember and honor him.

There is something hauntingly beautiful about this song. His voice combined with the dark background music ultimately creates a dark and gloomy atmosphere. Music like this can be considered beautiful and sombre at the same time. A mixture rarely achieved. Anak throughout the years proved to be a classic like no other, especially when performed with the great voice of Freddie. Otherworldly and sublime
J'adore ! Quelle belle voix et quel talent. Cette chanson est magnifique Merci
My school choir’s singing this for our competition abroad
Wish us luck-
