      @@MrKilios01 don’t quote me on this but it’s in the realm of 92k. Managers are usually hired from within. You would be ever so lucky to get right into management. Usually that only happens when there are grand openings. Or they can’t find a good replacement under current line of succession. You can try to get in as a meat cutter as a foot in the door, then get into management. They start off at $20.50.

Aside from voicing it to your manager and keeping an eye open for opportunities at other locations, there's not much to do to get full time. A while ago I wanted to be a manager but I am pretty happy as an employee, but if I ever wanted to do it I would definitely go for optical manager. My ultimate goal is to show that I really want to work with the team and eventually get hired on full time if that is available at the end. Is there a task like go backs that seem to be the least desirable or most appreciated for someone to help with? Any tips are appreciated. Thank you in advance!

    • @CostcoDude
      @CostcoDude  3 місяці тому

      @@pxaialexi Congratulations on getting a seasonal spot! Front end is very active this time of year. Things that you can do to stand out, always look for things to do, it's the random little things: when it's slow, even if it's literally 50 seconds, instead of standing around, you can go grab extra boxes for your cashier, you can wipe the counter, if you're the only assistant between two cashiers (shouldn't happen often but it can) jump between both of them. You will be noticed and cashiers will be super grateful. If you have a short shift and want to work more, go talk to the supervisor with the board and simply ask if they need more help, you're willing to work a full 8 hours.
      Offering to help other departments can also leave a good impression, specially because not everyone likes going to the food court or the bakery, but again, if that's something that you're willing to do and don't mind switching it up then definitely go ask around. Even if you aren't needed, they'll take note that you're willing and that goes a long way. That being said, everyone ends up doing go backs at some point. I would say do your best to remember where things go so you can do carts quickly.
      I don't know how members are in your area, but in the costco's where i've worked, it's pretty easy to spot clueless members looking for an item; Costco is very pro helping members at all costs and, so if you are out on the floor and spot someone who needs some help, ask if they need help finding an item. many people appreciate it and will tell a sup or manager and that's like... the best thing to can do to impress the higher ups.
      Avoid calling in sick during the first 90 days, that goes for seasonals and permanent employees.
      These are very nuanced tips, and I hope you don't take this advice as "you should turn into a little Costco soldier," lol. It really is all about taking care of each other :)

      When you apply on their website it will ask you what you want to apply for. Either all positions, or a specific one and you’ll get a list of every position in the warehouse(there’s 34). Excluding supervisors and management those are usually only hired from within to promote growth and opportunity.

    Hi I have a question once hired on is it hard to get full time? I’m part time is there any suggestions that you have can I pick up hours how does that work?

    • @CostcoDude
      @CostcoDude  6 місяців тому

      Full time positions come up a few times a year throughout the warehouse. I think if you're willing to move to a different department you'll increase your chances.
      Many employees will do that or even go as far as transfer to a different building if it benefits them, like I did at one point going from a warehouse 5 minutes away to one that was 30 mins away.
      When I was part time and wanted more hours I'd let the scheduling supervisor know, and I would also let my co workers know that if they wanted to switch their longer shifts for my shorter ones, I'd be happy to pick up their hours. Just know switching shifts works when it's either on the same day or when you trade off on your day off. Eg. You work 4hrs Tues and have Wed off, and your coworker has Tues off and works 8hrs Wed. Hope that makes sense

      You get three free add-ons to your membership. When you get your executive after 90 days, if you're married you can make them executive too. But the other two will remain gold star members

    Should I quit my job and go to Costco?

    • @CostcoDude
      @CostcoDude  8 місяців тому +2

      Depends on your current job. Costco is good to start when you're younger, retired, or if you have your own business and just want benefits, which a lot of employees do.
