I have one of these. Its plenty loud for what it is. You arent supposed to play venues with it. When you just want to noodle and not fidget with an app or menus....its good.
I have been using mine for months for home practice and teaching. I even used it at an open mic jam session and was surprised that nobody realised I wasn't going through an amp or mixer. The battery last a lot longer then expected too. It's not intended to compete with units that are several times the price and it's unfair to compare them as this is a budget unit but it's surprisingly loud and reliable.
what I think this also ideal for is beginners, as most would get a bit overwhelmed by all the options with the newer digital amps. In this case it's just plug and play, and star learning some of the basic distortion effect. besides, its not too loud, which is always a bonus for everyone else!
I have 2 Joyo pedals (OMB and Reverb) and the wireless system that runs around $30. Never had any problems; the wireless has gone over 5 hours and never quit.
Thanks for the look and listen, Phil.....But I'm not hearing anything that would pull me away from my new Katana Go. It's just too good for what it is.
??Phil! Great review ! I think the Bluetooth connection with the phone backing track was very cool. I recently picked up a Vox AmPlug3 -UK Drive … it’s similar but has no way to input a backing track.
Why do so many of the lightweight composite (?) material Chinese guitars have zero frets? Apologies for the unrelated comment but I'd love to know. Aren't zero frets problematic .... eventually?
I own one of these, and here is what I can tell you. It can be dialed to sound good, from overdrive, to heavy distortion, but if you like to play clean, you will be disappointed. The clean sound is very low volume, and thin sounding, not really useful at all, but go back to the drive channel, and it comes alive, and can be fun.
I have a few UA-cam videos using the Joyo jam buddy and it's amazing for the size and what it offers especially if you live abroad for work or university. You really can pull a bit bad tone out of it
Spark go blows this out of the water and is only fractionally more expensive (at least when there are discounts available). Unless you are very specific about refusing using an app to dial tones in or download presets, I'm not sure I see a use case for this one. Great playing tho
I bought this pattern a few months ago, it's perfect for someone who just needs to practice in a public space(like the office, yes that's me) with a phone, btw the price comes to around 40 USD when it's on promotion
not for me but appreciate your thinking about the player and not just chasing the trends or whatever gets sent
I love my spark go, got it when it was $99 and have used it a lot as a bluetooth speaker too. its awesome
Stuff like this and loopers are endless fun. Great to see options at such an affordable price

The amp is perfectly cute... but your playing is smokin'!

Max Backing Tracks makes the best metal drum tracks. They have sic breakdowns. Turn it up!
I got one as a lockdown jam session toy, using it exactly as you did here - and also for outdoor listening as you mentioned.
Really happy with it
Phil is an equal opportunity pedal player. Sometimes you have to take a look at past products to appreciate all that we have with our present products
Yes!
This is why i watch this channel, love your work Phil!

Very handy with a headless guitar for road trips!
Joyo makes some really good stuff for the price. I already have a Spark(s) so I'll probably stick with that for practice.

Thanks for the review Phil. I'll stick with my Katana Air but it's nice to be able to compare & contrast with other products on the market.

🤘🏼😎
Its funny hearing a 3k guitar with a 80dollar amp.
it should cost 40usd and maybe would be interesting
I think this amplifier is ideal for people who live in an apartment and if you are just learning to play you don't need anything else.

It sounds severely underpowered.
