1:13 Something cool i saw people pointing out is the reason why Seraphim Jinbe falls into the water(ground), is forshadowing for how he has Senor Pinks ability to swim in the ground and underground, so many easter eggs in this opening🔥
A lot of the scenes are straight from the manga. That scene in particular is where Nami uses Zeus to shock S-Shark and he falls down into the ground instead of hitting the floor.
Also it makes finally clear that the shadow putting out the snail cameras in the laboratory was S-Shark. I mean it was already obvious, since he was the only one on Yorks' side that could travel though the island that fast without being seen thanks to his powers, but now is basically confirmed
This opening made me fall in love with it instantly. It's not one of those openings that make you go "ok" on the first listen and then make you fall in love with it the more you listen. It actually made me love it on first listen.

I'm constantly in awe of Megumi Ishitani's work. Anything she does in the production, from storyboarding to OP directing to episode directing, is masterful. Please give her all the 💰 Toei. She is a generational talent.
I genuinely think you hit the nail on the head with the Vivi Paw Paw fruit foreshadowing in the OP. They also teased Shanks coming near Wano in OP 24 before we even knew it in the manga, so why not this.
The Vivi and paw paw fruit transition really parallels the whole denjiro being put next to the scabbards in Over the Top op. EDIT - looking closely, the paw actually has bonney in front of it, and not vivi. The transition was just that quick. So, it may not be as crazy as the Denjiro one but the placement is very suspect.
You probably noticed but an even more crazy thing about that detail is the ground they're walking on matches the different arcs in order, and their outfits change to match the arc they're standing on.
I loved the outfit's timeline and the match-cutting between Lucci vs. Luffy, Shanks vs. Kidd, Blackbeard vs. Law, Kuzan vs. Garp, S-Hawk vs. Zoro, and back to Lucci vs. Luffy and then Sabo, Law, Kid, and Koby staggering up. That's not Vivi with the Paw-Paw fruit at the end. It's Vivi walking forward toward a hole in a wall, match-cutting to Bonney reaching out toward Kuma's Memory bubble. I'm sure it's intentional but I don't see it as an out-and-out spoiler. The biggest spoiler IMO is you can see Vivi behind Morgans' hand.
Yeah, on the Vivi & Bonney transition, I see it as a continuation of the transition parallel theming. The first major character to character transition was with the concurrent battles and at the start of this one was the new generation going through their parallelled struggles/ordeals. The Vivi and Bonney transition can be separated even further as they have their own distinct parallels, both are daughters who have witnessed a certain "truth" and have fathers that have played a major parts in the story and suffered for it. Vivi's "hole in the wall" is witessing her father's death while Bonney touching Kuma's memories is her witessing Kuma's suffering. As a consequence, both of them have learned a truth kept from them (and the world at large), Vivi seeing Imu and Bonney seeing the truth behind her father's transformation.
This is definitely an opening to use the 0.25x speed function with. For example: The clash Luffy Lucci clash transitions to Sabo with a flash of fire, and a black pointed tail. that shot of Luffy Jimbei and Chopper was when Bonney did that age thing to them; you even see them shift ages. That shot of Bepo and the other Heart Pirates, had them genderbent, from Doc Q's Milady attack.
Bro how do guys like Oda and Togashi come up with these ideas? Togashi comes up with a whole set of cards for a in-universe mmo, a board game, and his power system is the most complex interesting one in shonen. Oda on the other hand comes up with DFs as a medium for powers, has the deepest lore and character pool and he's even cooking with numbers and puns in names of things. I truly feel like a mouth breather trying to write anything creative by comparison lmao.
This opening is incredible. My favorite part is how we see Sabo, Kid, Law and Koby all struggling during their fights but the when we cut to Luffy, he and the other strawhats are striding forward with unwavering resolve!!
As a manga reader I noticed a lot, but my favorite thing about this OP is in the beginning we see Luffy liyng down and notice who is in front of him on the ship, it's the same shot from a different perspective as the last one.
We got literally the same reaction, I was so hyped that I couldn't stop repeating the OP again and again, the music it's catchy, the animation it's CRAAAAAAZY and the spoilers? Bro we even got a glance of Kuma's past (from the gems that appear after the Seraphim of Hancock) with that... It's the best opening that we ever got of One Piece and I know it's hard to say that but damn, this was good, pretty freaking good. I'm still waiting egghead to end to finally say if this will be my favorite and (personal opinion) best arc of One Piece 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I can't get enough of this opening man, not only have I been rewatching it this week but also rewatching your reaction, and I'm usually not a huge reaction watcher. Easily top 3 in the series for me. My favorite shot of the whole OP is Shaka with all the hands pressing on the glass behind him. SPOILERS: Them framing him surrounded in red like that to make him seem evil when all the hands are trapped Cipher Pol members and he's not the traitor is so fucking smart to bait and switch all the anime onlys, major props to the director of this OP for that one.

I saw someone catch that when luffy and lucci punch each other with haki, if you go frame by frame it shows the arrow that pierces sabo and it piercing him, and when it cuts to the crows, for a second he is surrounded by shadowy figures. They did amazing hiding such details
This really is an astonishing opening, I was pretty much as blown away as you the entire time, it's literally showing everything we've read up until now, feels like it might just be this one OP for all of egghead and I'm down for that. No doubt my favourite OP opening ever right now, so much more packed in than most other OP's even if they've gone back to standard OP length.
I love this opening (I watched it so many times) with all of the various hidden details (like it starts & ends with it being the scene of Luffy saying his dream) from the manga & the catchy song is called “Assu!” which is created by Hiroshi Kitadani who also created opening 1 “We Are!”, opening 15 “We Go!”, & opening 22 “OVER THE TOP” - I like that thought about the Paw-Paw Fruit but I thought that they placed Vivi & Bonney next to each other because they both are losing their fathers

6:30 I think that little funeral bit wasn’t for Cobra but rather for Professor Clover for Ohara for the books we saw in the shot, that was Dragon and Vegapunk 7:07 also that was Vivi but I think that was more for her escape from CP0 before it got switched to Bonney with the Paw Paw Memories

As a One Piece Fan who has caught up with both manga and anime , this Opening is like the best new year gift for us 😍!! I am so happy that Toei decided to bring Hiroshi Kitadani back and perform this master piece ! There are so many things going on in this OP (of course is a good thing) and I can't wait to see what will hapen when those amazing scenes in manga are put on screen 🤩, I'm gonna sure it will blow up the internet many times 🤣
Great reaction Roger, it represents how most OP fans felt. Also you might have missed this, but in a few frames at 1:05 (in the opening not your video) is the Imu arrow attack riding along a transition of fire waves. Teasing the Sabo confrontation as he, while struggling, emerges from his flames. This teaser happens right after the friction from Luffy and Lucci's haki fists clash cause sparks of fire which transition into those waves of fire.
I don't say this lightly. And I often get trapped by nostalgia, putting newer openings tiers below the older ones. But this might be the best opening in the whole series.
That shot with the flower bouquets wasn't the funeral of Cobra (a thing that never happened anyway). That was the flashback of Dragon and Vegapunk meeting on what remained of Ohara after the Buster Call lol
I didn't watch One Piece but I felt this op was truly special, really enjoy seeing people get excited and geeking out over this, great to see people get this passionate about what they enjoy, I feel everyone can sympathize with that feeling of joy edit: you should check out the vid on how this was made
He knows, but he's talking about the transition, it goes from Koby to Vivi for a split second, then Bonnie with the Memory bubble. The random inclusion of Vivi in that transition is what is setting us off about that theory

Bro how do guys like Oda and Togashi come up with these ideas? Togashi comes up with a whole set of cards for a in-universe mmo, a board game, and his power system is the most complex interesting one in shonen. Oda on the other hand comes up with DFs as a medium for powers, has the deepest lore and character pool and he's even cooking with numbers and puns in names of things. I truly feel like a mouth breather trying to write anything creative by comparison lmao.

As a manga reader I noticed a lot, but my favorite thing about this OP is in the beginning we see Luffy liyng down and notice who is in front of him on the ship, it's the same shot from a different perspective as the last one.

Bro we even got a glance of Kuma's past (from the gems that appear after the Seraphim of Hancock) with that... This really is an astonishing opening, I was pretty much as blown away as you the entire time, it's literally showing everything we've read up until now, feels like it might just be this one OP for all of egghead and I'm down for that. No doubt my favourite OP opening ever right now, so much more packed in than most other OP's even if they've gone back to standard OP length.

Also you might have missed this, but in a few frames at 1:05 (in the opening not your video) is the Imu arrow attack riding along a transition of fire waves. Teasing the Sabo confrontation as he, while struggling, emerges from his flames. This teaser happens right after the friction from Luffy and Lucci's haki fists clash cause sparks of fire which transition into those waves of fire.
