My understanding is that formatting is a nightmare. My text is double spaced in Word and when I copy and paste I end up with single, double, triple spaced problems within the same document. I watched a UA-cam channel with a guy talking about how easy KDP publishing is, and when I asked in a comment how he deals with preserving the original format, he said it takes a LOT of work, and that’s why he hires a professional. But he didn’t say that in the video, which to me is misleading.
Totally. It’s very hard to learn. For some it’s worth paying for someone else. If so, pay a professional. I paid an amateur once and that was a nightmare. We went back and forth on 21 versions over weeks because I kept finding issues. Yikes!
