I wish I could start skating as it’s one of my dreams but there is no ice ring in my area and I could only train on winter in different city a few hours away. I stick to rollerblades as it’s the closest I’ll get to training haha. But I do try to go at least twice a year on a rink and I always feel like I’m finally home. Maybe in the future I’ll be able to do more.
@@runupwithracks2239 I was thinking about it but it’s so expensive here where I live and I don’t have that much space. I’ll be moving to a different city for college soon tho and they have an ice rink so I’ll probably start there 🥰
@@runupwithracks2239 there’s no point, if she hasn’t even learnt the basics of skating there is no point spending hundreds of pounds/ dollars/ whatever currency they have on fake ice. Fake ice is normally for more professional figure skaters.
Omg the sponge! Memories. Don’t forget to close you arms close of your chest. Or maybe you don’t feel ready for that yet… but is so much fun. It give even more speed. When I do it sometimes I feel the blood in the back of my hand getting pull. It a strange but fun sensation.
i'm starting working on axels and it's just made me dislike waltz jumps😭 i used to love them sm but now i have to make sure theyr perfect. tips- if you don't want to be like me later and struggle with axels, make your waltz jumps really big and thing about making an h with your leg when you start your jump!
i would love to start figure skating, its beautiful and i love it so much, but i dont know how to start where, or what to do. And im not a very athletic person and i have horrible coordination and balance.
Hello!! I’ve been watching your videos for a while and love them; I actually used to skate competitively/for level testing before COVID but the environment of where I was was not great and I’ve been spending time away from skating. However recently your videos have really inspired me to maybe take it up again. I just wanted to ask: is there a specific type of skate you would recommend for beginners/people who already have a basis in skating? I’ve been doing research and trying to find different perspectives :)
Hii! Might be that I'm a little late, but Risport and Edea both have good beginner skates. I would recommend going to skate shop and just asking which skates they would recommend for you :)
I’ve been skating for 6 years since I was four, but do you know what really makes me mad 😡? How I’m in freestyle 5 now but my friend just started skating 2 years ago and she’s already in freestyle 5! Btw my favorite moves are: Axel, Flip, Loop, and a spin that I ACTUALLY don’t hate, ⭐️ ⭐️Biellmen spin ⭐️ (I may have spelled biellman wrong)
Amazing skating but some tips I would give you for your waltz is make the area you load up to jump wider so that you can jump higher. Also for your spins try to connect your pinky toe to your ankle bone so that all the air gets squeezed out allowing you to spin faster and for longer. Other wise I would have assumed you were at least a freestyle 6 skater!
I’m a figure skater, I’m 13 and I’ve been skating for 9 years, so I’m landing all my doubles and doing really advanced spin combos so if I have a tip for your layback is to lean MORE because I don’t think that would get called in a competition x. Good luck!!!
That’s so good! I always wanted to figure skate but I thought there were no rinks in my area until one say I finally asked and my dad told me there is one close by so he took me to it and I had a great time most of my sisters couldn’t balance and kept falling but bc I used to roller blade before I kind of got the hang of it, that was like 2 years ago, I still watched figure skating videos and stuff but I never did it until one day I went to the rink and saw I figure skater like you and when I saw all the cool moves she did I was like “I have to try this” so I asked my dad again he told my he actually knows how to do the stuff in ur video and he told me he’ll try putting me into figure skating classes and I’m soooo excited !!
I don’t think you’ll like side layback anymore once you find out how much you actually have to lean to the side for it to qualify - from someone who hates every variation of a layback with a passion
I know this is late. but to clear the confusion abt beginner skater and things, these are the moves I started with tbh in early skating, even though they seem like really hard, compared to other so called "beginners". it still would be classified as beginner. because compared to other moves and the structure of the moves she's doing, it is barely anything, though she is an amazing skater. this is from my own experience of 7 years of skating. but others opinion might vary.
Can you give me some tips of how to do a waltz jump and a one foot spin like how to keep spinning with out stopping or falling.(plz help you figure skating gurly)
tip for waltz jump is first glide for longer- so the technique is better but if not so experience, well you can make it short and when you get to the jump make sure to use your arms to completely turn you around. if you don't feel comfortable with a big jump start with small, not to high jumps. it help. 1 foot spin if you want for the start make sure. to use your arms to make the entrance better like swing your arms around and then make sure you go on a curve
im not a skater, but i am a dancer and this is so beautiful but i wonder if u could be more expressive with ur arms without loosing balance? i dont really know how hard it is, no hate ofc ❤️❤️ it really is a wonder how you can spin and and jump so beautifully
I've been skating for years now and I must say waltz jumps are still one of my favs 😅

I already know how to do a salchow!
Flips are my fav
If this is beginning then i’m not even started yet i’m still doing curves and “trying” to spin
