Please more Beegie Adair videos!! You do such a wonderful job explaining everything!!
Beegie was good friend and a pianist that influenced my voicing/style as well. I interviewed her for my Lounge Music Companion book (On Amazon) . Nice basic lecture on her stylings. Beegie actually has smaller hands and prefers in many areas of her arranging clustered tight textures similar to George Shearing. She also often loves to end ballads with rich polytonal chords such as M13(11) sliding in chromatically or cadential 7(b) to I M13(#11) . Also arpeggiations of quartal of 3/6/9 which of course is also off Pentatonic. Our styles are very similar, she like gentle broke stride patterns and instead of playing parallel 10th in the bass like Tatum or Waller .. tends to grace/break them and then add a little interior voice leading to fancy up. No one in my opinion is more elegant in jazz than Beegie. Like me she always believed one should never over embellish but always keep the integrity of the mood/emotion of the song. People might know she always had a great sense of humor as well. I would always giggle when I hear quote subtly another song in an arrangement like throwing On a Clear Day into A Foggy Day. Before she passed I was fortunate to get some of her charts and my next album will have "my odes" to her playing some of her favs. Another Beegie device is parallel slides into the melody of songs. Like m9 esp. Often she moves modulation from white to black .. aka C to Db or F to Gb so she can end with a rich black key tapestry wash of color and makes it easy for black key gliss or other unique devices that sound amazing but are actually easy to execute. RIP dear friend.
very nice read thank you
RIP Beegie. Besides all else, she really gave us a real jazz xmas - from Nashville of all places. They should make a museum in her memory. Hats off
She was an awesome piano player and such a sweet wonderful lady I had gotten to know her about 10 years ago she was playing at a local restaurant in Nashville called
F. Scott’s very nice place and she had her trio and I drove to Nashville six hours one-way to hear her often. Followed her around the Midwest to hear her perform in Chicago Cincinnati Detroit and Kentucky.
She had true gift and so thankful we have her music to enjoy and appreciate your UA-cam videos going over her music.
She was a titan! I listen to her recordings daily. Her arrangements were awesome, her arrangement of Route 66 is one of the best, dynamic, clean and just pure joy!
This is perfect timing. I couldn't say how many times I've listened to her recording. She is wonderful. Thanks to you I have more confidence in my transcription. Well done!
Fantastic sound. love it.
I play by ear, so I watch your fingers, and listen to what you play so it can be embedded in my mind. Beautiful song by the way!

wowww i love this Guy, i lern a Lot
Very nice playing ,is it possible to get or buy the sheet music including left hand ?thanks
what was the song you played in the beginning?
At 19:46 she's not playing D#. It's just E-D-C#. It's just diatonic notes from the implied B minor scale. There's no chromaticism here. (I agree that what you played is actually more interesting and better.)
It's nice to see my teacher's face😁
That's the I like to play...
I love it! What specific song is your video referring to?
Estoy tocando igual como lo haces 💪😎
🙏
How do you get the piano sound?
