- Vegan Custard Recipe below 🤎 Thank you for joining me for another winter episode! How’s your January been so far?
Would you believe me if I told you that sometimes when I am writing the series, I immerse myself in the story completely and can feel the aromas, the flavours, the voices and even the temperature of the room? This mainly happens when I write about Aunt Florence’s house, so in today's episode, I am bringing back a bit of her fairy-tale lifestyle! Although alone, Winifred recreates the magical evening her grandmother and her friends had on a winter night long ago. A hot-water bottle, sweet pastries, chocolates and a cosy reading nook are all she needs to spend a wonderful time at home! 🤎
📔 EPISODE 2: The Night of the Winter Lady
The friendship between Winifred and Chloe grows stronger each day, proving that, like their grandmothers, they are kindred spirits. With Robin Johnson’s letter and the information Winifred gets from her school, the pieces of the puzzle suddenly start to fit together and the girls are very close to learning everything about Sinclair House.

When a young countryside teacher receives a box from her grandmother's lifelong friend, her solitary life will suddenly turn into a beautiful search for happiness and magic.
Set in a cosy cottage in Bermothill in the late 1970s, The Dandelion Pact centres on Winifred Clarke who, inspired by the pages of a diary written in the early 20th century, embarks on the beautiful journey of embracing a simple but meaningful life.

🌱 VEGAN CUSTARD RECIPE 🌱
- Ingredients
2 cups plant milk with vanilla flavour (or plant milk + 1 teaspoon vanilla extract)
½ cups cornstarch
⅓ cups sugar
- Directions
Add all the ingredients into a pot and stir with a whisk until there are no more lumps.
Place the pot over medium heat, and continue stirring until the mixture thickens. (Approximately 5 minutes).
When you reach the desired consistency, turn off the heat. Keep in mind that the custard will continue to thicken even off the heat, continue stirring for another minute and allow to cool before using.

I'm so excited that the story continues. Even though we're in summer here I can imagine the cold and snuggling up with a hot water bottle. I've been trying to find old copper or ceramic ones, no luck yet. When I do we will definitely be using them 😊 xx

I completely agree. Though we use rice or other grains mixed with lavender, mint and chamomile. In our family we try to make our Christmas gifts. Every year my Mom make us new rice bags every Christmas. From oldest to youngest. I think it makes it special that the she grows all the herbs her self as well. Thank you for the wonderful video. It was grated chocolate. These are vegan custard tarts with almonds, walnuts and chocolate. I used vegan puff pastry. The custard recipe is in the description box!
