I wake up with the most random songs stuck in my head. This morning: Vibeology by Paula Abdul.
LOL literally why I'm on this video this morning as well
me today
me today!
Me today
This morning I was invigilating a GCSE exam and this song was in my head!! Why?!?
this is by far one of Paula Abdul's best songs. It is way underrated.
It's utterly great with a killer groove until 1:49 when the gimmicky "spooky" haunted house voice comes on along with her Betty Boop whimpers. Get rid of those. They make it sound like a "novelty" song as they used to say and not the great dance track it is.
@@arundelmercure553 I get what you're saying but the whole song seems to have a P-Funk tribute thing going on (Horny horns!) and that part sounds very very Parliament-y
The intentional and unapologetic silliness of this song still makes me smile.
Dale Hopkins I feel so blissful and happy everytime I hear that song.
I smile from ear to ear too. It makes me want to get up and dance.
Took the words right out of my mouth! Unabashedly fun and silly! Can't help but smile!
it's so 90s
No more than it makes me laugh my deriere completely off the more I listen to it.
So many eloquent people on this comment thread pointing out the lyrics silliness of the song. I only wish most of the garbage music we listen to nowadays was this silly...
This is one of the most underrated tracks. It’s like 3 songs in one. The producer was a genius. This song was made for live performance. It sounds so good performed live!
It's amazing
So ahead of its time for the changes in tempo. One of my Paula faves!
I believe the Production group is called The Family Stand
It's so peppy! I love it.
@@astrolabe1976 The Family Stand's album around the same time was called Moon In Scorpio and it is an amazing album.
It was said a lot of times.
But Adore vs Trinity.
I live for your name.
honestly
negative nancy ikr
It was a really good Lipsync.
that lip sync made this song my new fav!
I was not expecting Adore to come that hard!! Wow. Loved their comradery up there too!
Yeah, it was amazing!
Love music 🎼🎶🎼 6/2/2024/🎉
I am very surprised this song didn't perform as well on the Hot 100. It peaked at #16 in early 1992, and snapped her 3-year string of top 10s. Underrated song that doesn't get much airplay anymore. I loved it.
Feb 1992 this was everywhere!!
I’m not surprised at all. Most people I knew hated it at the time.
Early 1992 saw the pretty massive shift in popular music towards grunge, hip hop, adult contemporary ballads and Eurodance. Looking at the Hot 100 charts of Feb/March 1992 when this song peaked a lot of music that sounded like Paula’s was already on its way out
@@bryanalstoncoxingNot true at all. This received massive airplay elsewhere in the world, specially Europe, back then. Not in the USA though. This came out right after the mega hit "Rush Rush" from the same album. That's why it wasn't more popular in the States.
@@ny4000No, they didn't hated it at all...the thing is it came out as the final single of the "Spellbound" album and right after the mega hit "Rush Rush"...
adore delano!!!
Yes! Adore brought this song back for me. =D
Alex Farias yes!!!!!
People forget how great of a Pop Star she was back in the Day..
I remember when this album came out, I think it was her best and latest!
Yes, from the days you had to buy a CD, tape or record. No iTunes or streaming.
@@larrycj4382 sounds like a struggle lol
@@youngrichskinnyladymaxxine294 It was! I love INSTANT accessibility of music today from around the world! No more suitcases of CDs purchased from traveling around the globe! 😸
I love Drag Race but can we chill and get back to how wonderful Paula is here??
I don’t like drag race and Paula is awesome.
@@stevelafarga3296 that’s a disease, get well soon
@@MsVitaD not liking something is not a disease.
@@stevelafarga3296it actually is
@@stevelafarga3296lots of people's thinking are backwards nowadays
This song was made for Adore Delano, my chola!!!
Milo Leon YEESSSS🙌
Milo Chola my ass! Azusa is not East LA. It’s East Pasadena for Christ’s sake. Adore is as much a chola as Fergie.
BDiaz // dude, you do know a chola isn’t inherently from east la, right??
killa Bitch, don’t try me.
@@bdiaz6081 Dude, Adore even say Chola to herself, she have Mexican roots as Fergie
Adore Delano vs Trinity K Bonet
Yassss
omg yasss I've watched their Lip sync like so many times #TEAMADORE😍

Yes. That turned me on so much.
She's so underrated in the music world
itchydiscoman True
Gotta appreciate her moves though
No,not at all. Great dancer and choreographer, painfully bad singer. She overachieved as it is.
I didn't think her voice was that horrible. Madonna's voice is just as bad and both had great music and were extremely successful. Loved Paula Abdul's music
This is such an underrated song. I love the beat! Her voice is great for this song.
underrated? I don't think so, she has SIX number-one singles on the Billboard 100 Chart, it's very difficult to reach number-one.
I was shocked this song did not go MUCH bigger....it was perfect for the time and the song was just pure FUN!
THE KEY OF PAULA'S "IN THE GROOVE WHEN YOU MOVE, I'M IN A FUNKY WAY" TICKLED ME BACK IN 1991, & STILL DOES IN 2021---🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
This song takes me back to my childhood. I always wondered if Prince had something to do with this song because to me it has a "Princey" vibe to it.
Prince produced it. Peter Lord worked with him at Paisley Park. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spellbound_(Paula_Abdul_album)
I use to listen to her a lot when i was a teenager
Prince produced a different song on the album, but this does have his feel to it. She's a big fan of his.
BK Lulu That explains it. 😉
Some background vocals sounds even exactly like Prince's voice, and his style of chorus. The whole song breaths Prince.
go paula! go paula!
Since Junior High School, I always had a crush on Paula Abdul.. She's still my favorite Singer/Performer/Choreographer..
Paula Abdul’s dancing is mesmerizing. She is the epitome of dancing and upbeat songs.
Paula Abdul is just THE BEST! LOVE HER STRAIGHT UP FOREVER!!!!!!
i loved this song, cant believe it only peaked at #16
I know! Was the 4th single off of "Spellbound". May have been too funky at the time.
The video was very popular though. I remember it peaked at #1 on MTV's Weekly Top 20 Video Countdown.
Because she peaked in the late 80s then slowly slipped from #1 after 1991
Because the tune is super ahead of time. In 2000’s might be more acceptable.
Who's been a Paula Abdul fan since the 80's?
my MOM was born in the 80s😭😭
I miss Paula and all her amazing dance moves!!! And she has a very uplifting, positive attitude that radiates everywhere, how can anyone not like her???!!!!!
Rupaul's Drag Race brought me here. :3 Adore....that cartwheel.
Alicia Scott yaaaaaaas!
It's my continual dose of Vitamin yaaaaass
That’s a shame
Trinity did slay she left with dignity and grace
@@Colecolecole04 Yes ofc. They both killed it gurl....but that cartwheel bitch....
Adore Delano ❤️❤️❤️
Adore KILLED this song.
Oh, I agree 100%! I just watched that episode earlier (binging through all the seasons rn) and it was great. :3
This song sucked back in 1991 and still does now. Adore my ass.
@@Ram44 STFU we not in the 1991
@@Ram44 do u even know who adore delano is
One of my favorite songs from this album, aside from Rush, Rush, and Blowing Kisses in the Wind. I love when Paula laughs in the one part of the song. She sounds like a little kid laughing.
This was my jam back in the day. Underrated song imo.
Her videography never disappoint. She slayed
Paula Abdul is such an icon
GOOD LORD! Her voice gives me the vibeology!
Why this song is soo underrated. It's a crime
She means it in a funky way, people! She is NOT fucking around.
All of those angles & shots capturing that wind in her hair are beautiful!
Don't hate, Paula Abdul had a beautiful voice, along with the moves !
This video brings back so many memories. She has the gift.
SO GLAD SHE GOT TO PERFORM THIS AT THE BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS! SHE SLAAAAAYYYYED! LOOKING FORWARD TO VEGAS PAULA!
Paul Abdul was gold...us 90s teenagers will never forget
Early 90s dance and pop music was a MOOD
Ay-Ay-Ay-Ay!
One of the best pop bass groove lines during the 90's.
100% - Family Stands produced this banger.
Adore is the definition of this song!!
Yes honeyy !
TKB and Adore slayed.
My favourite Paula Abdul track.
This song encapsulates 90s pop
I love Paula Abdul!!
I *love* the movement style of this video--the choreography is so sharp and tight! Classical but with a vicious edge!
Paula Abdul is an Amazing Talent!
🎶🎶
DOUBLE SHANTAY. PERIOD.
Paula you a great dancer don't ever forget this Love You
she has a great voice!
Go Paula! Go Paula!!
Very unique voice. She is an Icon.
Good dance song from an under-rated album. I bought this album back in the 90's and I think I will get it again.
The album was not underrated, it was no. 1
That Spellbound album was so good
this was not a under rated album
@@jamesevans957 Since you’re the second person to disagree with me about this,I guess I will have clarify what I mean when I say that I think it is underrated. I am saying that I feel that it is underrated when compared to her first record, “Forever Your Girl”. “Forever Your Girl,” was a big hit record that has sold 7 million copies in the US alone and it produced four number 1 songs. While “Spellbound,” went on to sell 3 million records in the US. It did have two number one songs,”Rush Rush” and “Promise of a New Day”. All in all it too was a hit record, but just not nearly as big a hit as “FYG” I think “Spellbound” is just as good of a record as”FYG” is. Yet it sold less than half as many copies. I think that if more people decided to buy the record then they would also appreciate that it is a good one. 3 million records is a lot but when compared to her first record I think more people should have bought it because it is just as good of a record.
Man that woman can move. A deserving gay icon, I think. Churned out hits, even if her voice isn't the strongest. She can MOVE!
Alex Chen Yes,..she moves with effortless mastery...
Kind of like Morgan McMichaels?
Except that her voice is strong to just very cute sounding
I didn't like this song when it first came out, now I think this is a serious classic. Love it - Full volume, crank up!
adore vs trinity. one of the best lip syncs
In herstory
Timeless funk !!!
Not qualified to say this is her best song, but certainly my favorite from her repertoire.
Never understood why this one never became as big as some of Paula's other big hits.
This is one of the great songs by the awesome Paula Abdul
This was always my favorite Paula Abdul song. Should have been a bigger hit.
Drag Race anybody? :D that lipsync was EVERYTHAAAANG!!! Like if u agree!!
They both seriously served it up! And between this, Coco & Alyssa last year to 'Cold-Hearted Snake' and the classic Raja & Carmen to 'straight up' RPDR seems to do Paula songs just right. There's yet to be a lipsync to them that disappoints!
Drewski217 How about 'Opposites Attract' by Mimi Imfurst vs Chad Michaels?
Yaaaaas!
Yes! It was everything. She was knocking the house down
YES YES YES!!!!!
This is a thousand times much better than the pop music being produced nowadays
million times better....
Bops still come out, but it's a whole different mode now than it was in the early 90s. 😊❤
Paula was breathtakingly beautiful in this video.
I don't know if Paula paid to have all her videos remastered or Virgin Records.......but THANK you to whomever! This video really needed remastered. Much clearer now.
Totally forgot this song existed! What a great one. These were great times.
Now THIS is what I remember Jazz Ballet dance classes to be! So much fun!
This song is so fun! It's been many years since I've heard this song and I remember the lyrics, surprisingly. I loved Paula Abdul when I was a kid.
Such a good feel song Paula is awesome
WTF why does Paula not have millions of subs. How dare we all sleep on Ms. Abdul!
This is the significantly edited version of this song. Come on, where's the cheesy "Go Paula" chant?
CJ Lewey aha yes so true I needed it
Yass
This version is also on her greatest hits albums
dam Paula is a good dancer😮♥
That was her main career before she became a singer. She was a famous choreographer.
@@Mario_N64 exactly
She,s a Laker girl.
@@Mario_N64 Correction, Cheerleader
Patricia Brower Correction: she was a famous cheerleader that became a professional dancer and choreographer. Them she became a pop star and then a TV show personality.
Fun, loose and meant to be taken lightly...it's called a "party song". The musicianship is off off the charts...anyone else notice?
Great music ! Still listening ! This is a classic Paula Abdul song .
Lol
True
TKB and Adore brought me here.
She is brilliant. :) Love this song.
People should not hate on Paula Abdul. Does she have the best voice on the planet? No, but it doesn’t mean she “can’t sing.” She’s a performer, like Madonna or Britney Spears. Paula was such a sensation. Before I went into my hard rock, punk, and heavy metal hole, I loved her songs. The album Spellbound was a guilty pleasure. I think I was 11 when it came out, and I wouldn’t admit to anyone I liked pop music except for Madge (Madonna). I feel dumb now, but oh well. Now I’m loud and proud. I love that whole album, even more than Forever Your Girl, I think. This was one of my favorite songs on the album, and I’m so glad it is longer on the album. I would listen to Vibeology on repeat through my headphones while playing Super Mario Bros 3 on my NES. I think Paula Abdul is an amazing pop artist who can dance like no one else’s business. She is also a vision. She’s still so beautiful even now. People need to get off her about her pain medication as well. When you dance and choreograph the way she does, you are going to get hurt. It’s like a sport. No one gets on the professional athletes for being on pain meds after many surgeries, you shouldn’t get after dancers either. The strain dancing can put on your body is really intense depending on the style, and she does it all. I wish she was a judge on SYTYCD. I love Paula Abdul, and I hope she comes out with new music because I will always give it a listen.
Still get the same feelings!!!! I was about 10 when this came out !!! I'm in the funky way!!!! 36!!! Love me some Paula Abdul?😎❤🎶😍😍😍😍😍
Paula Abdul brought me here. Period.
Adore ! Delano !

Miss Vibeology is back😀 Two dance collabs already with Paula Abdul in one month. I am living 4 it😊 Paula still giving fierce, fly, fanciful footwork🙌🏾
I like this and the entire album - Spellbound.
What a JAM! Really great dance song!
I have to say this is Paula's 3rd sexiest song after Crazy Cool and My Love is For Real.

Love you Paula Abdul 💕💕
I remember playing this song on my Walkman (OK showing my age) to and fro my way to dance class and on my way home after a dance performance at night. I loved this song so much I would keep rewinding it. God help us it was the Winter. I would shake my body to it to keep warm and didn't give a shit who saw.
Adore has seriously been growing on me since the first episode, and this week she really showed a fire that I thought she never had. BOTH of them produced a LSFYL that for me goes down in Drag Race Herstory as one of the best. And this song was absolutely damn perfect!
Definitely my favorite song from her. Video was a lot of fun too
Great song, and album
This is vibe magic song 💖love Paula Abdul music
